  • "Attentive and fashionable staff, food was delicious, atmosphere was large and busy. It's more see and be seen than intimate."

  • "Bartender made an idiot out of me. I've been here a couple times and knew what drink I wanted. She charged me $3 more than the listed price. Only found out after I sat down at my table from the bar. Ruined my whole night. I don't like people making a fool out of me and that's what Empire is. You go to Empire NOT for the food, but for the ambiance and the experience. Well, they completely failed on the experience so there's no reason to pay for overpriced mediocre Asian food."

  • "The food was ok. Service below average. My entree was served 10 min after the rest of the table . Nothing like eating your good along. Pricing here always surprises me on upside. 4 people with modest drinks was 280. No wine. For that price I expect more. I've had much better good , better service at nicer restraunts for much less."

  • "My girlfriends and I went to Empire on a random Wednesday night, no special occasion, and the experience was phenomenal. From the waiter, to the busboys and management, everyone was kind, diligent and patient at the same time. The food was delicious - everyone was happy with everything we got. I can imagine going to Empire for many different types of dinners - work, date, big group of friends, etc. - and can't wait to go back!!"

  • "Definitely one of the trendiest ambiances I have witnessed in Boston. The food was great, the drinks were fun and fancy. The bar is huge. Fit for many occasions.. sit down dinner or high-top quick sushi. Worth checking out."

  • "The food was really good, I work in Korea and have seen some authentic dishes at Empire and that was impressive. We always had someone come by and offer to take our empty plates or re-fill our glasses without it being annoying and everyone was super friendly. Our waitress was really good and spot on with suggestions. That was the strongest point for me. The only small problem was that the music got a little too loud and bumpy as the night went on. I got in around 1915 and left by 2130 and it was already a little difficult to talk to my date. Not a huge issue and I'm well aware that scene is advertised on the website, I wish there were an area a little more removed from the noise. That was my second time there, will recommend to others."

  • "Stopped by since I was in this neighborhood and in the mood for sushi. Tried the Thai scallop soup to start which was amazing. Just a hint of spice, fresh herb flavors. Really well done. I went with the Red Dragon roll, with the BBQ Eel and Wagu nirigri. All three were fresh and tasty."

  • "This was our third time at Empire and we were happy to go back. We started with a glass of champagne - they have a nice wine selection. We shared 3 things - pork dumplings, fried rice and lo mein. The portions are very generous and we had lots of left overs for the next day. The fried rice is outstanding! The wait staff are great and it has a vibrant atmosphere. If you don't have a reservation eat at the bar and the menu is the same. It's a bit pricey but worth it. We will definitely go back."

  • "We always have an awesome time here! Food was fabulous, LOVE LOVE the sushi rolls. The drink menu was new and also awesome. This time we ended up dancing there late night, which is not common but no one complained! LOL!! Can't wait to go back."

  • "Having been to sister restaurant Red Lantern, I would say the food is a step up in general at Empire. So are the prices tho, including for items (e.g. Sushi) that are seemingly the same. Had a wonderful mooshoo tho, and overall a fantastic night!"

  • "Excellent food, though a bit pricey. It was also too noisy in the back room we were in. I would however go back again."

  • "Had a table of 3 for an early dinner and loved the lobster 'cupcakes' among the other asian fusion tastes we sampled. The shrimp shu mai is delicious. The manager let us try one of their signature tuna rolls, which my eats-no-fish teenage daughter ate and enjoyed. Its also worth a trip to see how this area of Boston is transforming into a destination."

  • "Had appetizers, calamari was Salty ,Lobster/Crab Rangoon hardly any meat , Salmon sushi was good. Beer $6 but bottles and Glass warm no excuse ."

  • "Empire is a really large restaurant with a cool asian fusion vibe. Had no issues at all during a Friday night dinner. Was not too crowded and were seated right away (with reservations). Enjoyed all the drinks and good food. They even gave us a free app for it being our first time there."

  • "Empire was a great experience. I honestly didn't know what to expect. A recent promotion on travezoo is what prompted my visit. My first impression from scouting the site was that this was a pricy and somewhat posh establishment and that it would be a little bit of my league - meaning I was worried it would have a showy elitist type of feel. The place is beautiful and has a great vibe and atmosphere. The staff was great. Despite the impressive and fancy look and feel, everyone from the hostess to the bartenders was very down to earth and made my girlfriend and I feel totally welcome. The food was delicious. The wait staff was friendly and knowledgeable. I would go back without a groupon, no doubt. Worth every penny."

  • "I went to Empire last November, and loved it, and was looking forward to returning there. The food was disappointing this time around. The apps and drinks were fine, but my main course was just awful. I am a pho junkie, so I was excited to see it on Empire's menu. I'm sorry to say that it was awful. I understand that each place will have their own interpretation, but Empire's was not remotely similar to what real pho would taste like: the broth was over seasoned and noodles were thick and undercooked--nothing like the thin and tender noodles that are normally found in traditional pho. The creme brule was tasty, but sat too long, as the custard was eggy and not smooth. If we come back here again it will only be for drinks and appetizers."

  • "The ambience is beautiful but the food quality can be improved. Overall it was a good experience and I would def return to try it again."

  • "I love Empire and every time I go it does not disappoint. If you like lobster, you must get the Lobster Cupcakes. They always have it on the special menu rather than the regular menu, hoping they put it on the regular menu soon! The Crab and Lobster Rangoons are always a great choice. We also got the Toro from the special menu last night per the waiter's suggestion and it was phenomenal."

  • "Server recommended the lobster cupcakes, ended up being our least favorite and the most expensive item we ordered. Food came out quickly - almost too quickly to be of good quality. Wasn't anything we couldn't order at Pan Asia for the price of Red Lantern. Cool atmosphere but wouldn't return."

  • "What a pleasant surprise. The food was incredible. Daniel, our server, was on top of everything and he did an amazing job. We would definitely go back to eat at Empire."

  • "This was a great restaurant for a girls night out. It just opened last year and I've always wanted to try it. It is pricey, but for those special occassions it was a great venue. Although my party was a little late, I waited at their bar and enjoyed a delicious lychee martini. We had one individual who couldn't have dairy products. The waitress was very generous and worked with the chef to see what items/options were available to her. After trying a little bit of everything, we completed our dinner with the delicious creme brulee. This restaurant is a modern version of Asian cuisine. It doesn't have an exhaustive list of what you normally see at Sushi restaurants, but the food is good as well as the drinnks. Excellent service and ambiance."

  • "This was my first time at Empire and it won't be the last by far. Exceptional sushi and terrific warm house saki! The Empire Gimlet is my new favorite drink. The wait staff are all friendly, helpful, and very pleasing to the eye. The piped in music kept the place jumping. Next time I'll sit at the sushi bar."

  • "Service was great, place is starting to work out some of the earlier issues with a new place, serving many people at the same time in such a large space (I think it holds over 600 when full) leads to some mistakes but I haven't been disappointed yet. Not the cheapest but that's what Chinatown is for."

  • "The food was delicious. Highly recommended the beef hot app. It's pricey. I went with a travel zoo deal and would probably go back with another one."

  • "Wanted to try a new sushi place a bit more energetic and fun than the typical sushi places. Walked in and liked the setup. Host/hostess was nice and prompt to seat us but we passed all the excitement and was placed more in the back room with a bunch of empty tables and only 1 other group sitting. It was much quieter and felt like we weren't a part of the rest of the bar/restaurant. That right away was a really bad experience. The tuna tartar was over priced for $18 for not much tuna and and lots of cucumbers to build it up. The lobster cup cake was a nice idea and sold us "lots of lobster" but when came out, very little lobster and lots of rice."

  • "The food was good, but overpriced in comparison to other food of that quality. Lobster Cupcakes were delish, but quite expensive. Look of restaurant was beautiful, wait service was very good. Biggest complaint was the volume of the club-like music. I couldn't have a conversation, or hear the waitor speak to us. Loud music ok for a bar area, but not in the dining area."

  • "Fun and adventure. We drank champagne at the bar before dinner. Great setting. I experienced sushi for the first time and the waitress was helpful in describing the items Music was good and energetic Why is the ladies room so far away? Hah."

  • "Steak we sent back a couple of times. Once overcooked other time completely raw It was purple inside. Told is supposed to brew like that sent it back after a few bites to cook longer then it came out right pink inside. They Gave us potstickers complimentary for the mistake after the second send back they comped the steak plus our dessert and appetizers which was sweet. Great service and management. The other meals were great no complaints."

  • "My girlfriend and I were in the city for an overnight and wanted to try somewhere new to us. We sat at the bar where you watch the Woks cooking and found that to be pretty cool. The waiter recommended an appetizer that was fried rice with lobster on top that was ok but a little too much fried rice (tasted like lobster on a Tater Tot). We then ordered Singapore Street Noodles which were very good. Then for a main we had Sushi and we were very disappointed... Aside from the preparation of sushi the real key is fresh fish and none of it was fresh. All of it (tuna, eel and rolls) tasted extremely fishy and we took one bite of everything and didn't eat any more. They kindly took it off the bill but the damage was done."

  • "Went for Industry night. Started out at the bar grabbing a drink, the bartenders were nice and attentive and quick even though it was definitely busy. Both drinks were great. I was really excited to go eat when we got sat. The food was good, not great by any means but considering its industry night and it was $25 for unlimited sushi it really was good. The food wasn't the problem the service or lack there of was. It took forever for our server to come over. Parts of our dinner were forgotten until we had to remind her. We went for over 10 minutes without even seeing her while my boyfriend waited to get a drink with his food. Twice we asked questions about the menu and didn't get answers about either. It wasn't a great experience over all."
