"Great place to go for a really good steak. My husband likes his steak medium-well and I like mine medium-rare. We ordered the porter house steak for two and was told by the waiter that when the steak comes out he will serve mine first and then my husbands. Well!! I savored every piece of that gourmet steak and my husband as well. We were there celebrating our "28 th" Wedding Anniversary which my husband just mentioned in passing to the waiter and little did we know all the waiters came to our table and sang to us and we celebrated with a beautiful vanilla and chocolate sundae with a candle on it. Our side dishes were mushroooms and sauteed asparagus. Yum Yum. My mouth is watering just thinking about this wonderful dinner we had. TY"

"I ate here last night with a friend for the first time. I needed to immediately write a review because I was so impressed with the service and the food. "Just about as good as Peter Lugers but much more comfortable restaurant, biger menu, in midtown and they take credit cards. Definitely not worth traveling all the way to Brooklyn to fight your way into an uncomfortable Lugers when this great place is so convenient."

"All in all just another NYC meat house. nothing special here apart from at least a dozen or so other choices within blocks. The layout and decor of the place is average, a tip, dont sit near the front windows, the light from the loading dock across the street is so bad if get a seat at the table facing the street you will not be happy."

"I am fortunate enough to do a lot of client entertaining and top restaurants. And if you are looking for a classy, but not stuffy world class steak house, look no further than Empire. The service is always exceptional and the meat is as good as it gets. Love this place"

"Service was great, even after an 80 person party came in at once. The fried calamari was crisp on the outside and melt in your mouth on the inside, the steak i ordered was perfectly cooked at medium rare, and even the vegetables were delicious. Dessert, i cannot even begin to say how much i enjoyed that part. Staff was very polite, even apologetic for the noise from the party and it was't even that loud. It was a very good first impression."

"This is a high end German style steak house. If that's what you want, you would be better off going to Wolfgangs. The prices are about the same but the Wolfgang's steak is a little better."
