Emilio's Tapas - HillsideGreat to be backEmilio's is a fantastic place to share new tastes with old friends. Emilio's has been our favorite restaurant in the Chicago area, but we moved away years ago. When we visit, we bring different friends and both sides of the family to come together and try dozens of tapas small plates. Old favorites are of course the garlic potato salad, but also the pisto manchego (mix of roasted vegetables), the beef brochette in cracked pepper with caramelized onions, and the bacon-wrapped dates. They have a number of vegetarian dishes and also work with low-carb, paleo, and probably any other diet, because you order multiple small dishes.6/12/2013 12:00:00 AMbirthday dinnerLoved the food. The wait-staff were very friendly and helpful. However, our server had limited English so didn't feel that we could fully communicate with him.6/8/2013 12:00:00 AMA great place to celebrate! We had 15 family members gathered and Emilio's was a terrific place to celebrate. The food was delicious and everyone loved choosing and sharing their favorite dishes. Our server was attentive, professional and very personable.6/1/2013 12:00:00 AMWoke up our sensesHad a wonderful time at Emilio's. The food was spot on and absolutely loved the bacon wrapped dates!5/31/2013 12:00:00 AMUnique, delicious, dependable, fun!Emilio's feels Mediterranean. The decor inside and the patio are a delightful
and colorful realm to escape to for a succession of tasty tapas that are delicious and creative. Emilio is
Often there and comes around to greet customers to give it a personal touch. This place has stayed consistently good over the years. Love it!5/25/2013 12:00:00 AMnoise levelGreat food buy can end up being expensive. Only complaint was that we were seated too close to the bar and music and ot was too noisy for conversation. Next time I'll request a table in the separate room away from the bar.5/24/2013 12:00:00 AMAlways a winner! As usual, the food and drink are great. This evening, we were celebrating a birthday and Emilo's service and little touches (ballons, birthday card, free cake) just made it special. You must try the garlic potato salad, dates wrapped in bacon, goat cheese in tomato sauce....the list is endless of the good food here. The place does get noisy and the live music in the bar gets to be a bit too much, but otherwise, highly recommended.5/24/2013 12:00:00 AMSo good!Everything here i delicious. My favorites are the bacon wrapped dates and the escargo. I get those every time. Sometimes when I go, we each have to get our own because we don't want to share! I tried the langostino stuffed with crab in a sauce that tasted like heaven. I could eat there everyday!5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMMmmmmm Good!Four words discribes Emilio's.....Very Tasty & Fresh!5/15/2013 12:00:00 AMtasty tapas to treasureWe love tapas, and Emilio's offers fantastic food. Tapas of course, are about 'small plates,' yet my impression is that because the food is so good, Emilio's can get away charging a buck or two more per 'small plate.' It was a little noisy on Mother's Day at noon, but the service was good and the food came quickly. The food is fresh, tasty, and there are a lot of choices on the menu. This is one restaurant where I could say, if I had the money, I would eat there every day.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMConsistently terrific!Great food, nice people, consistent appeal. We are regulars.
Roses to the moms on Mothers' Day was a nice touch.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMGood as it gets...The food at Emilios is as delicious as it is interesting. You can tell that there is pride in the preperation and served in a way that celebrates the entire experience. We don't get there often enough, but were never disappointed.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMFavorite Spanish RestaurantBest tapas restaurant we've been to outside of Spain.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMThree of us gals went andThree of us gals went and enjoyed some great food, good service and lively atmosphere. I wish I lived closer to this place.5/7/2013 12:00:00 AMEmilio's...great as always! It's been years since I've been to Emilio's. I used to go to their restaurant on Clark in Chicago. The food is still as excellent as I remember. The service was great. Our server was always ready with a drink refill, or to take our order for another round of tapas, yet never intrusive. The only problem I have is that the noise level was ridiculous. It was very difficult to have an conversation with my husband.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMThe Tapas selection is alwaysThe Tapas selection is always varied and fun. This time we found live entertainment, some great flamenco guitar music with a dancer too! We really enjoyed the additional perk. Chef Emillio greated us personally at our table too, a nice touch. We have never been disappinted here, we will come back soon, and especially for their Anniversary celebration in July. This is "our place" when we have a date night....4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMTop drawer tapasWe've dining at Emilio's numerous times and the food is always spot on, the service efficient without being overbearing, and the staff pleasant and helpful. The tables can be a little tight, but the food is so flavorful, especially the garlic mashed potatoes. We dining with friends who are pretty much "meat & potatoes" folk and they absolutely loved it!
