My daughter's teriyaki chicken came out without teriyaki sauce and her rice was very undercooked. They brought her some sauce on the side, which does not then make it grilled teriyaki chicken, and tried to tell us that if rice sits too long under the heat lamp that it can dry out. This rice was undercooked. It wasn't under the heat lamp. The filet, the braised short ribs and the duck were all phenomenal. We tried the dumplings and pork belly apps and would recommend those as well. Steer clear of the kids brownie sundae dessert (too sweet) and split with the family the Kaluha Cake. Every detail of the decor was perfectly thought out and executed. Good food & service. My tenderloin cut like butter :) dinner for two, no alcohol, was about $120 including tip. I recommend for a special occasion or romantic evening. Parking is a bit of a pain, unless you valet. The restaurant is on the first floor by the pool of the resort. Strange location. We were seated at a booth right near the front door. On a warm humid day, every time someone would walk in and bring in the warm air with them into the air conditioned space, sweeping right by our table. There should be a "welcome to our restaurant" part of the front door, where the breezes from anyone coming in from outside are stopped.
The pink crispy things for dipping into the spicy peanut sauce were the least favorite part of the dinner. Also not appreciated - we ordered the creme brulee for dessert and we were served three small bowls filled with awful soupy concoctions of their take on creme brulee. Starting with the steamed pork dumplings and throughout dinner it was one of those meals where we wanted to savor every bite. I had the sake braised beef short ribs which were melt in your mouth tender and my wife had the duck breast which was also tender and juicy. So many flavors. The atmosphere was comfortable with low lighting and a noise level that allowed us to talk in a normal voice. The service was excellent. Not intrusive but there when we were ready. The surprise was the the value. The meals were very affordable especially compared to the prices we've become accustomed to at the parks. I read some reviews that were not favorable so was a bit apprehensive but the night was a success. First I must add that our server, Miguel provided us with the BEST service we experienced the entire week and we dined at Shula's, Narcoossee's, and Il Mulino's to name a few. He was helpful, attentive, friendly and never missed a beat. The menu choices were good, the kids menu had lots of options and the cocktails were great. The restaurant decor/design is beautiful. While I would not say that everything we ordered was the best we have ever had, the food was quite good and it was overall an enjoyable night. Parking instructions wrong on web site. Takes 1.5 hours using wrong directions to get to restaurant with a wheelchair. Valet service is no longer at Pacifica Ballroom entrance, and the signs are wrong that are up. We were later than we wanted to be for lunch despite getting their 2 hours early, and the kitchen was closed before we ordered takeout, which we wanted after our lovely lunch.4/30/2013 12:00:00 AMTchoup chop is a wonderfulTchoup chop is a wonderful restaurant. The decor is fantastic and even when the restaurant is full the noise level doesn't get too high. As for the food it is amazing in my opinion. All of the dishes ordered by my friends and I came out as we had requested am tasted great. Food was very good. Everyone enjoyed everything we ate. Only thing I would add would be more pork belly to the pork belly appetizer. It was pretty much all bun with two or three little pieces of pork belly. Though what there was of it was good. Crab and corn souffle was great. The duck entree was great. It was a terrific and memorable meal. Our server, Aaron, clearly enjoys his job and was glad to offer his suggestions for our meal. I started with the pork belly appetizer, and every bite was outstanding. My husband had a lamb chop and bacon-wrapped scallop surf and turf that he described as well-cooked, nicely flavored and yummy. Although a foodie sort of restaurant, there was a children's menu...our kids had shrimp scampi linguine and were happy....kid portions were not large, though. and the timing. But when it came time for the dessert, they seemed to fall apart.
My daughter and future son-in-law ordered tea.
The pot of hot water and cups were brought over, but not
the tea. We had to ask twice for the tea. By then,
the water was no longer hot. My son ordered Espresso,
which was extremely expensive for the tiniest espresso
that we ever saw that also was very late in being brought
out and we had to ask again. The Kahlua cake was

Probably most important is comparison with the other restaurant in the Royal Pacific Hotel, Islands. Emeril's is much better. This was our third time dining there and the experience was just as impressive as before. Actually, a little better than before, as we were seated at a table near the far end of the room, where the noise levels seemed a lot lower. As usual, all the items we ordered were delicious and beautifully presented. Service was top-notch, and our wait-staff accommodated all our requests and answered all our questions in a totally professional manner. Even the valet host on duty did a top-notch job, having our car waiting for us before we had made it back to the valet stand (he evidently saw us coming from a distance and remembered which car we had arrived in). Everything from the happy hour selections at the relaxing Bar scene to the dining selections and wine list was outstanding. We wrapped it up with the famous Banana Creme cake which is amazing but honestly too much for two of us to share one piece! Booths are romanticly draped with tall curtains and a Polynesian/Asian theme throughout. Next time will plan to sit at the Kitchen bar where yu can watch the very busy open kitchen which is typical of Emeril's other establishments.
