A word from Emeril's Restaurant
From its first day, Emeril's Restaurant & the multitalented man who reinvents it with every meal became the focus of ecstatic praise. A decade after Emeril's Restaurant exploded onto the culinary scene, Emeril's has evolved & transformed itself for the 21st century by updating its flagship restaurant. Completed in 2000, the innovative details reflect the significance of the warehouse district location, new New Orleans cuisine & Emeril’s extensive wine list. The Food Bar is framed by a tapestry of glass encased spices showcasing the bold & creative flavors that Chef Emeril features. Emeril's state of the art kitchen is visible from the main dining room. Although walk-ins can be accommodated, reservations are highly recommended. Our dress policy is casual with no sleeveless shirts for men, no hats or flip flops. David Slater, Chef de Cuisine, and Kevin Delaune, General Manager, are dedicated to providing you with that memorable dining experience.Continued

Diner Reviews
  • "We had a great meal in a vibrant atmosphere. There are plenty of local restaurants in town, but sometimes you want a solid choice known from the TV Food scene. This was a neat place with great food."

  • "The food was amazing and the banana cream pie is truly a must order for dessert! The service was impeccable and truly high quality."

  • "After a two month wait for reservations, I couldn't have had any higher expectations. Boy was I wrong. The service was so-so. I'm not use to staring at an empty tea glass all night. Every thing that you expect to be hot or warm was room temp. (Soup, bread). I had the pork chop, I ordered it med. it came out rare and loaded with fat. I sent it back and it came back after everyone else at my table was finished eating. Then this one was well done and tuff. The sweet potatoes were also under cooked and hard. Also there was no offer to make any adjustments to my bill. I won't be back."

  • "Our 1st trip to New Orleans - we are from southern Louisiana , Lake Charles , and always traveled into Texas for weekend getaways. We decided to go to New Orleans, just on a whim ... In love with it - our history & culture can not be compared to anything else Of course we had to go to Emerill's - he is from Louisiana & watch him on TV all the time --- exquisite , excellent, more than what we expected. A must go to place when in New Orleans !"

  • "Absolutely amazing. I have been to this restaurant several times. My brother-n-law and I love to try different dishes and order a plethora of small plates and main dishes. Also, the wines and desserts are a must at any restaurant we visit. Emeril's does not disappoint. Every year the attention to detail, consistency and wait staff are right at the top. They did not have wine flights on the menu but the sommelier had no problem in hooking us up with a flight of reds. Outstanding service and food. There is another restaurant I would compare Emeril's to and that is HerbSaint. I will be back again and can't wait."

  • "This place is far from old-school. Everything on the menu seems fresh and modern. However, it nevertheless conveys something intagibly quintessential about the city. The staff is friendly and very attentive. "

  • "Emeril's is an iconic chef in New Orleans. Everybody knows who Emeril is, so it is a must while in New Orleans. You won't be disappointed. "

  • "Enjoyed everything about this restaurant ! Would definitely recommend it. Will go back next time in New Orleans . Some many wonderful places to eat in New Orleans but this one merits a return visit."

  • "Table was ready for the reserved time. Food was outstanding. "

  • "It is safe to say that up until now this is probably the best meal I have ever eaten at a restaurant. Be warned, it's not for those with a tight budget. The meals are pricey and so is the (quite extensive) wine list. Save this place for a special occasion or for a night out in NOLA if you're visiting. We were told by friends to sit up at the service bar and this was an excellent recommendation. I suggest if you are going there to do the same. The chefs talked with us and we were able to watch each masterpiece of a meal being plated. If we had been sitting at one of the other dining tables I could see us contemplating the real worth of the meal. But after the overall experience we had I would definitely say it was worth every penny. "

  • "The staff was extremely friendly. The food was absolutely delicious and the portions were great as well. We had a fantastic birthday celebration. "

  • "The only thing that slightly jarred was the over zealous young waiter who leapt in and refilled our water glasses after every little sip. It did get annoying after a while. Otherwise the good and service was fabulous"

  • "Everything about this restaurant is top-notch. Service, food, ambiance, what a great dining experience. "

  • "I made reservations for three for a business lunch. Everyone got the three-course lunch deal. I got the gumbo, pasta Nero, and sorbet. Everything was delicious. Corn bread was my favorite of the breads. Gumbo had a variety of seafood and balanced by acidity in scallions. Pasta Nero was rich and flavorful, shrimp and pasta were cooked perfectly, accompanying vegetables complimented the rest of the dish. Sorbet had a twist: strawberry and cinnamon, had a hint of anise. Service was prompt and friendly. We never got past half a glass of water. Dishes were presented in unison. The whole thing was slightly longer than their advertised 30 minutes, but we never requested that it be so, so we were fine to take our time."

  • "I have to say this is my new favorite restaurant. My husband and I were in New Orleans to celebrate our anniversary and we are go glad that we picked the right restaurant for our special occasion. The food was great and service is the top knot. We will definitely come back when we are in town again"

  • "Amazing food, friendly attentive staff and a wine list 68 pages long! We had a wonderful dining experience at Emril's and would definitely recommend it to everyone."

  • "This was our second time here and the first time it was outstanding. Last night was just ok. The food was ok, the service was AMAZING. We will come back, I'm just hoping the food is more on point next time."

  • "The service and food were excellent; however, when we observed the open kitchen we were somewhat concerned. There was a person on the line in the kitchen that had a scraggly beard with a pony tail on the end of it. Several times we observed him pulling out a Gatorade and looking straight out into the dining room drinking it or walking the length of the counter drinking it. We observed another person on the line step to the side and use a cloth to wipe his beard and most likely blow his nose."

  • "Friends and I have eaten here twice before on trips to New Orleans and thoroughly enjoyed it. The food never disappoints. The only negative this trip (and it was minor) was that there was a request for a second on cornbread and it never materialized. The dinner and other service was excellent and we would absolutely go back again."

  • "Wonderful food, presentation and service. We sat at the kitchen bar overlooking the kitchen - only downfall...wishing Emeril had been there :) Took kids with us and they loved watching. Really appreciate chef making special request for the kids."

  • "We had the pork chops and ribeye "cap". Both dishes were outstanding. The service was top notch and our wait staff actually had a personality unlike some of the wait staffs we've had at other high end restaurants. We can't wait to go back on our next trip to New Orleans."
    Dined on 4/13/2014
  • "The good news is the food is good and the venue is pleasant. The service started out well but we waited an HOUR for our entree and had to ask the server to check on it. My husband ordered a beef entree for $42 which he felt was skimpy and underwhelming in quality -- hence seriously overpriced. Also, he requested medium rare and received rare. I ordered a pasta with shrimp and mussels. The shrimp and sauce were very good but there were hardly any mussels and they were tiny. Overall, not good enough to warrant a return visit."

  • "The name speaks for itself: Emeril's is a gem that serves great food at really good prices. Had a 3-course meal for $23. Salad was great, main course had a wonderful spicy kick to it, and dessert was delicious. I would definitely visit again when I go back to New Orleans."

  • "I expected much more at Emerils. The cocktails were excellent as were the service and facility. The food was OK. It wasn't bad or extremely good; just average. I ordered the special for dessert, a chocolate strawberry shortcake. It was so incredibly dry that I couldn't finish despite the chocolate and something else that was sauce-like."

  • "Emeril Lagasse has always been one of my "food heroes," so when I had the opportunity to visit his restaurant, I jumped at the chance. And this restaurant does NOT disappoint! Be sure to try the Chocolate Peanut Butter Pie; it is exquisite!!!!"

  • "Crowded lobby but once seated we were in a relaxed, pleasant environment. Service and food were excellent. Not the typical celebrity chef/tourist trap I feared. I was a fine dining waiter years ago and with that said I am always critiquing the service. No complaints. We had 9:30 dinner reservations so I expected to be rushed through our meal but that wasn't the case. The check was surprisingly reasonable also. Was the highlight of my weekend in New Orleans."

  • "The service was outstanding! Everyone went out of there way to make us feel special! All of the food was delicious! Especially the desserts! (Chocolate PB Pie and that pudding in a cup)! The atmosphere was lively, and everyone seemed to be having a great time!"

  • "From the moment you arrive at Emerald's, you know you are someone special. Upon arriving at your table the outstanding attention to you and your dining desires begins. The staff is knowledge of the offerings with spot on suggestions for all courses that evening. If you want to experience a true culinary delight, Emeril's is the perfect location. Enjoy!"

  • "Waited 20 minutes for reservation. Waiter misunderstood my order. By the time my dish arrived, everyone else was finished. Mine was not worth the wait. 2 of 4 pieces of steak were all fat. Not worth what they charged. Would not go back. Better places in New Orleans."

  • "This was some of the best food I ate in New Orleans. Emeril definitely comes by his reputation honestly. I'm still dreaming of the boudin appetizer. I will definitely be back next time I'm in New Orleans."

  • "We went with a party of four for my sister's birthday. The customer service was excellent and were very friendly. The servers were very kind, welcoming and made my sister's birthday very special. The food was great. The appetizers and entrees came out quickly and we all were greatly satisfied with our meals. I ordered the Petit filet and frites which was very tender and well seasoned and I would recommend it to anyone. Finally, the ambience was very nice. The lighting and décor was amazing and very welcoming. I would recommend this restaurant for any special occasion or romantic dinner."

  • "We savored every bite from the trio of breads to the last bite of our entre. The pork chop with tamarind glaze and green child mole was terrific. A wonderful balance with the sweet potatoes."

  • "Yes, I am a foodie and watch a lot of food shows on TV. So when I realized I had to go to New Orleans, I wanted to go to Emeril's restaurant. Great food with a variety of options. Attentive waiters. Extensive wine list. I had the drum fish. I didn't even know what drum fish was. It was prepared with delightful claviers and textures."
