The restaurant was buzzing with lots of people enjoying their meals. Presentation of all plates were very good. We ordered the cajun shrimp and muffleta appetizers. Both were very good. Great space, amazing food, great live music, and awesome service. The only thing I didn't like at it is pretty inconsequential ,is that I could see the tv in the bar area from where we were sitting. They were fantastic. The food was awesome. I had Gumbo and my son had filet grilled to perfection and my husband had vegetarian pasta.
The desert was Emeril's banana creame pie which you can never have anywhere else!!
When we were leaving I asked for souvenir box of matches and the host went to another building across the street to get them. Everything was great! I tried the chicken with garlic mac and cheese. It was seasoned nicely and very tender. The wine list is extensive. Our reservation was later in the evening due to the large crowd for a jazz festival in town so a few of the entrees were sold out. Other than that we had a great time. This constantly proves to be one of my favorite meals in New Orleans, from the sticky and delicious duck wings, to the better than you could ever expect chopped romaine salad, to the double cut pork chop, topped off with the chocolate souffle. And those were just the best dishes at the table. I had heard great things about Emeril's, but have yet to try it. I had friends in town and set out to find a Friday reservation for all of us, many of the places I had originally thought of were booked, good thing, it lead me here! I was a bit nervous at I hadn't dine at Emeril's and was hoping it wouldn't disappoint anyone, but everyone left full and happy! The meals were delicious and the serving sizes were excellent! The wine list or well Wine book was very extensive with plenty of selection, the glass list was a bit shallow but it was filled with great wines. We had a delightful evening with our friends from out of town who really wanted to experience this Emeril's restaurant. The food was really particularly wonderful. Our waiter was efficient but seemed very busy. We had a lovely dinner and am so happy about that! I had the double cut pork chop, which was cooked to perfection at medium well, a recommendation from our waiter. Don't salt of pepper until you taste as the seasoning tends to be on the heavy side anyway. The portions are perfect, and I loved the individual side plates offering three different breads. Excellently trained and pleasant wait staff. Not sure what the excitment is over the banana cream pie, but it's not something i would order again. The drumfish entrée was superb - buttery, light and flaky. The salmon did not have the delicate salmon flavor that I prefer, but was of the more pungent variety. Your inclination may differ. The "signature" Grand Marnier Chocolate Souflé which required a special order at the beginning of the meal was not as light as better soufflés that we've had, and we could not detect even a hint of the Grand Marnier flavor that inspired us to order the dish in the first place. The food was less than wonderful, although good, but a bit pricey for what we were served....almost $200 with tip, without dessert and coffee.

I had the shrimp with pasta which was wonderful and my husband had the signature drum which he really loved. We ended with the chocolate bread pudding, delicious! When we visited New Orleans, we had lunch at the original Emeril's, and enjoyed the whole experience. From the boudin and andouille sausage appetizer, to the key lime pie, everything was the best . I enjoyed the roasted cauliflower bisque, and shrimp "Louis" salad, while my husband had the gumbo of the day and a delicious mahi mahi over slaw and fried green tomatoes, a special. Our table faced the kitchen and we loved seeing the details of the food prep. Our severs (three of them) were wonderful and anticipated what we wanted and needed before we asked. I would certainly recommend Emeril's to everyone. I was wrong. Dead wrong. Medium rare with just the right amount of pink juice wrong. Some of the best service I've had in a long time wrong. Poured my drink just right wrong. Oyster Bisque, mussels with some of the best broth I've had in a while. A filet mignon with tiny carrots perfectly cooked and a shepherd's pie. And a souffle.
