Emeril’s Italian Table at the Sands Casino Resort BethlehemWhen visiting the Sands Casino...They recently reduced the portion sizes by about 20% which were formerly generous - now adequate. Fair price for very good food. Best dining option for the dollar in the casino. Not worth a trip to the casino just to eat there. Service is always excellent. We have been there 5 times in the last few months. Not a single bad meal.
They changed the style of bowls and plates to disguise the portion reduction. Everyone should take note this is how it should work. When our drink order arrived, the waitress spilled the beer on her pour, my husband scooted out of the way, but his cellphone got wet. The wait staff are all professional, informative and a delight to be around. This time I opted for the vegetable tomato basil soup that was made perfectly and just the right temperature.....the flavor was delightful. This was followed by a chopped salad with grilled chicken. Everything in the salad was fresh and tasty.
I also complimented my dinner with a riesling spritzer and that too was refreshing. The only problem we've had is that on two occasions the item ordered was not available but we were not apprised of the situation until the order had been in for quite a while. On one occasion it made a fairly big difference due to the customer's dietary needs, and the order would have been changed if we were notified sooner--substitution changed the whole meals. I couldn't decide on what to eat and only ended up getting the Quattro Formaggi pizza. Loved it. My cousin who I dined with had the Shrimp in Pesto I believe. I do not enjoy seafood but she said I had to try the Pesto and I couldn't believe how delicious it was. If they offered it on another protein dish I would have been all over that. The service was excellent, and the food was very good. Our server was attentive, and was available whenever we had a request. We were not rushed, and felt like we could have stayed at the table all night if we wanted. The dress was casual, but the food was definitely upscale. We enjoyed the food for each course, but were unfortunately too full to try any dessert. We will be back to eat there again.5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMEmeril's LunchI am very appreciative of the complimentary lunch provided for my wife and I. It was enjoyable, and the food was very good. My only comment for improvement is that you should expand this special menu. Thank goodness for the rigatoni, because there was not one other item on the menu that I would have eaten! You need to possibly let people order from the regular menu, but put a price cap on the items available OR just provide a slightly smaller portion. Neither of us had dessert because of the limited choice.
I am not complaining, because what we had was good, and the service was great....just trying to suggest a broader choice of items.
