I've dined there many times, but this was the first time with a two year old toddler. To get to the table we walked through the kitchen, which I thought was odd but cool, and it was sparkly clean. Staff was wonderful and helpful. Loud, at least in the upstairs room, but that is a very minor complaint compared to the excellent service and delicious meal!5/5/2013 12:00:00 AMNot just for tourists.I wrongly think of Delmonico as a place for tourists and had not been in a while, but just enjoyed a great dinner with great service. Only drawbacks are: the downstairs can be noisy and the manager understandably does not want tables to linger on a busy night (so if you prefer that, go to Galatoires). The wine list is just a little pricey but the Emeril's signature wines are superb for the price.

We were all visiting New Orleans for the first time and were very excited to dine here. We had been on site seeing tours all day and when we finally arrived for our dinner reservation, we were not able to change into something more "business casual" for your restaurant. Nonetheless, your team was very warm and accomodating. We had a wonderfuld time, despite feeling underdressed, but your team never made us feel unwelcomed. They were very patient with us, from making plate suggestions to chosing a lovely bottle of wine the whole table enjoyed. The amabiance was relaxing and the menu was amazing. We will highly recommend your place to our friends and family.

It's a bit off the beaten path - not directly in the French quarter, but well worth the trip. The service was excellent, but not stuffy. Fish a winner!We spent our first evening in New Orleans at Emeril's Delmonico. Service was great, staff was friendly and attentive. I would only recommend for a special occasion however because with almost everything a la carte, the restaurant was very pricey.
I had a strip steak which was very good - but it was $44 just for the steak. My friend had the evening's special fish at $34 and that was the winner of the night.
The chocolate chip cookies were also great.
Finishing dinner close to 9:00 it would have been nice to have decaf coffee. I had the Louisiana drum meunière and it was wonderful. The sauce was buttery and very flavorful. My husband had the bone in ribeye and said it was up there with one of the best steaks he has ever had. They are the only restaurant in New Orleand that dry age their steaks in house so you know it is done right. The servers were great and even told us happy anniversary again as we were leaving the restaurant. Prices were as expected, though I was surprised the wine list was as extensive and expensive as it was. I can appreciate that many guest have a discriminating palette and a deep wallet, but not everybody falls into that category. I thought I'd look over the wine list, but before I could realize I was outgunned the sommelier arrived and pointed out several recommendations that were a week's pay for me, and he didn't pick up on my discomfort quick enough for my taste. Kinda made me feel small. It was amazing! We took the streetcar from our hotel to the restaurant, which added a nice touristy aspect to the whole evening. The food, the wine and the atmosphere were all spectacular. We couln't ask for better. I had the crawfish gnocci and filet mignon, while hubby had gumbo and striploin. All were excellent. We also shared the charcuterie sampler as appetizer.
