A word from Emeril's Chop House at the Sands Casino Resort Bethlehem
In the casual and comfortable setting of Emeril's Chop House, the warm design evokes the timeless craftsmanship of American industry– bronze metal ribboned screens outline the entrance, earth tone colors of leather & beige mohair furnishings contrast with the restaurant’s transparent reflective surfaces & circular crystal pendant light fixtures. The chef’s food bar has a leather panel front & hand finished white-washed oak millwork, & overlooks the open-action kitchen. Two curved wine cellars with polished steel wine racks separate the private dining areas from the rest of the space, & are encircled with a splash of red on the custom carpets. The restaurant’s combination of craftsmanship & elegance is perfectly reflected in the original artwork by local artist Michael Kessler, who achieves his effect with layer upon layer of acrylic paint on wood panel & relies on natural gesture to create his organic forms.Continued

  • "I booked reservation on Open Table. They got my request right down to the last detail. Asked for romantic table. We were placed in corner back area. We received a lot if attention from our waiter. They even brought out chocolate covered strawberries with happy anniversary written in chocolate "on the house". Food was delicious. Great experience. • "Staying at the Sands for the weekend with the wife. Thought it sounded like the best option for a great meal in the casino. We enjoy many different steakhouses, in NYC, as well as Las Vegas and Atlantic City. Seated on time, brought to our table in the center of the restaurant. Our waitress introduced herself, and then the waiter served the rest of the meal. The Bacon was great, even if slightly charred. The fried boudin was good, as was the andouille. The local cheddar was outstanding. Steaks arrived as described and ordered. The porterhouse and cowboy steaks were tasty, creamed spinach too. Banana cream pie for dessert was good. Restaurant was loud, casino noise and loud diners. We'll return, but not make a special trip."

  • "This was the first time I've been there on a Monday. The meal was slow to come out of the kitchen but when it did it was excellent, the food and waitstaff is always excellent. I guess Mondays are just slow days."

  • "Noise level was way to high!!!!! Even employees were frustrated."

  • "We were seated at 8:15 with a reservation for 8 pm. The food took over an hour to be prepared and presented. The steaks were supposed to be medium rare but were extremely rare to the extent of being raw in the middle. I truly expected better from the cameral chop house. After all the meals are anything but inexpensive. I think you rely to much on the name and the idea because it says Emeril's everyone will make an excuse for mediocre performance in wait and food preparation. Also, one other thing is that being the design of the restaurant is that of a cafeteria, you could not carry on a conversation in normal voice. You need some way to deaden the noise level, or maybe that is what you refer to as energetic as opposed to obnoxiously noisy."

  • "A great steak house with interesting foodie appetizers, fresh salads, delicious sides, and fabulous steaks. Wine list was very pricey."

  • "Nice place for special occasions. Right off the casino floor, thus the high rating for noise level. Quieter tables in the back. The wait staff and bar staff are very friendly and professional. The food is well spiced, not overly. Delicious steaks and sides."

  • "The food was good but prices high and portions small. 2 scallops for $14.00? Wow don't know if I would go back. Service was great but before and after you leave the restaurant all you smell is cigarette smoke. They have 2 areas non smoking and smoking with nothing in between. No smoke removers where do they think the smoke goes. Also upscale restaurant with diners in sweat pants."

  • "My husband and I eat here a lot. Every time we go we bring new family and friends with us. We always have great service and the food is so great. We also love the fact the drink book menu is very nice and everything you could imagine on that menu. I had the grilled swordfish this time it was wonderful and cooked to perfection. Normally I always get the filet but was in the mood for fish. We always recommend this resteraunt to everyone. Whenever we come to the sands we can't pass emerils without stopping in for the nice elegant place and great food."

  • "Loved the food, the server, but the noise level was absolutely horrible.....we could hardly hear the conversation from across the table.....I realize we were in a casino however, we were seated in the back and were facing the valet drop-off...."

  • "Service was sub-par, food not cook as requested, bad follow up service just a bad night, it appears that they get a lot of people from all around so they are not to worried about repeat biz, The only thing they have going from themselves is the name it attracts all."

  • "While the food was outstanding, my wife's lamb was rare in some areas medium rare in others. The beef tip risotto was out of this world. My wife decided to be adventurous and try the beet salad, while she enjoyed the beets and locally fresh goat cheese there was very little balsamic dressing. She was very excited to receive Emeril's special Birthday treat and we even indulged in a little sorbet also - which was delicious. All in all the restaurant, wait staff, surroundings and food were wonderful. We'll definitely visit here again."

  • "My husband and I dined at Emeril's a second time prior to the Jim Gaffigan show. We arrived around 5 PM for our 5:15 reservation & were apologized to, as the tables were all being set up. No problem; we had drinks in the lounge area. However, numerous other couples were seated prior to us...all apparently "walk-ups." Hmmm. OK. When seated, it was nice to go to the back part of the restaurant, away from the noise of the casino, unlike last visit. Our service was outstanding with only one thing missing -- no sommelier. Would have been nice to be asked if we wanted him/her to come over. Our bottle was $150. Dinner itself was superb. By the end of the meal, however, the noise level was excessive and we both had headaches."

  • "Food was out of this world good! My husband's veal was the best I ever had and my Ahi tuna was packed with sesame flavor. I really can't decide which was better. Even though we had two people attending us and the restaurant was filled with staff I felt the service wasn't great for what we were paying for a meal. My husband and I both noticed tables that were ordering cocktails were attended to more. We spare no expense when dining out but both my husband and I didn't feel like drinking. I don't know if we would dine again due to feeling ignored the second half of the meal."

  • "Great for a special night out with friends. Our cocktails were excellent(Perfect Manhattans) Kudos to the bartender. The extensive wine list offers choices in all price ranges. Service was excellent, friendly staff, and well pace service. The roasted beet salad is wonderful as are the Caesar salad and shrimp cocktail. The striploin steak was prepared just as we requested, and was tender and flavorful. Add the crabmeat for a special treat. We shared the asparagus and the Mac 'n Cheese with ham and peas. Yum! Save some room for dessert-hard to choose, they all are great.."

  • "We, 2, have dined here before, my concerns: We requested the Wine Room, the Manager needed wine, instead of "excuse me" he stuck his rear toward my face, knocked my companion, never apologized, got his wine & walked away When I pay $200 to dine, I expect more. The only good thing was the wait staff - Duran & Brittany- great. Finally,1 example of poor food, we ordered mushrooms we got onion with very few mushrooms Brittany were excellent. 3. Finally, as one example of the poor food, we ordered the mushrooms as one of the sides, we got a service of onions with about 6 "pinky" small mushrooms in the order. This is certainly not "as advertised" very disappointed. I hope this review makes it to someone who can make some changes."

  • "I had inquired with the server regarding a specific Riesling. She seemed very annoyed, but did consult with the sommelier and was able to answer, but not without a major attitude. There is nothing worse than trying to enjoy a meal, spending $200+ and receiving an attitude from a server. The rest of the meal, it was as though we were an inconvience and she was doing us a favor. The food was just okay, nothing spectacular. It is very loud inside the restaurant for normal conversation. The assistant to our waitress was very attentive, she smiled and was very respectful, almost compensating for the foul demeanor of our waitress. I would not return or recommend."

  • "My husband and I dined here while staying at the Sands hotel. We made 7:30 reservations and were promptly seated at our reservation time. We split the spinach salad with beef, and it was an outstanding salad. He had the cowboy steak and I has the 6oz filet Oscar style both were fantastic! We both couldn't finish our meals. My only complaint of the evening was the roasted cauliflower was a bit too spicy for a side. Service was great and atmosphere was great. I did not think it was loud at all, as a matter of fact I said to my husband while dining, " I don't know if its a good or bad thing I don't hear noise from the casino!" Will definitely dine here again."

  • "Alto in all our experience was ok. Must say that they did give us a complimentary meat & cheese board because our order was taking so long (or the wait staff didn't drop our order off in the kitchen), we were chatting and laughing so we didn't notice we waited. The wine list is too enormous! It might have been better if one of our team of wait staff would have just given a recommendation instead of struggling. Expected our steaks to be prepared to order and they were over cooked. Parking was a nightmare as well. Not sure we will ever go back."

  • "We have eaten at numerous Emeril restaurants over the years and also have many of his cookbooks. . We drove 5 hours to have dinner for our 30th anniversary. We started with oysters, which were great, then barbequed shrimp with grits, also good, then a Ceaser salad, wonderful. My husband ordered an aged T bone for $59.00. He asked for it to be cooked medium rare (with a warm red center). It arrived medium at best. He said it was a very nice piece of meat. I suggested he send it back but he did not. I ordered lobster, shrimp and crab pasta. It was quite good. The waiter asked if they could get him another steak and he again refused. It was very noisy which surprised us, even though it was in a casino.. All together, not a pleasant time."

  • "We were a party of four catching up on the 2013 holiday season. Food was awesome. Service would have been 5 stars but it was prime time Saturday night and the service was expectedly slower."

  • "This restaurant knows what they are doing. The beef, especially the strip steak, was prepared exactly as requested. One couldn't ask for a better strip steak than the one presented. The alcoholic drinks were fine too. The vegetables were okay although one could skip the creamed spinach next time because it was overdone. The server and her assistant were there to please. It was a very pleasant experience and compared to other top steak houses, the prices were perhaps somewhat less expensive."
