  • "My husband and I were regulars at Cafe Alpine and absolutely mourned its closing. After moving to Boulder from Breck and finding out that Scott, a Cafe Alpine Chef, took the helm and opened Ember, we couldn't wait to visit. Because Cafe Alpine was a beloved, first class restaurant, our expectations were high, yet Ember still seriously impressed us! Our waiter, Jeff, was perfect and the food, OH MY, the food! From appetizers to dessert, every scrumptious offering was creatively and expertly prepared and beautifully presented. Great wine list too! Plus, Ember offers you the option of sampling delights at an upscale, happening bar if you're not up to dinner just like its predecessor. Dining experience worthy of a bucket list. A Breck must do!"

This time we split a delicious pear and cheese salad to start followed by quail stuffed with cornbread over a spicy barbecue sauce. We loved it so much our waiter took us to the kitchen to meet the chef. We look forward to dining here again."

Each of us enjoyed our own special choice with a nice wine pairing from the extensive wine list. The menu is not too long - but each choice is well thought out. Enjoy!"

My son chose the elk and he said it was fantastic. Our server was terrific and we were seated at a table by the fireplace. We will definitely return and tell our family and friends."

  • "After reading a number of rave reviews, we was hoping to be impressed, but we weren't. The lobster salad was excellent, but the entrees were just OK and not worth the price in our opinion. There was a very limited selection of entrees the chef could make dairy free. The baby/toddler screaming upstairs didn't add to the ambiance for a romantic dinner. Will not be going back."

  • "Ate at Ember this past weekend. Food was very good, but definitely not the best we've eaten in Breckenridge. Menu is extremely limited and children's menu is a bit high brow for most kiddoes. Definitely a place for adults. Our food came very quickly and was tasty. Service was quite good until it was time for the check. It took nearly 15 minutes to signal the server and the get the bill. Far too long when you're dining with children. Was a good experience overall, but probably won't return."

  • "$ 84 for 12 scallops (4 on each plate) all three of us got the scallop dish. The scallops tasted good but not good enough to only have 4 of them on a 30 dollar plate. The beans, green thing and orange puree tasted horrible."

  • "Overall the ambience and food quality were very good here - lots of beautiful low light seating and artwork, and impressive architecture upstairs. They have a nice alcove for a larger party. My husband's steak was delicious and my scallops were noteworthy. A friend's squash/goat cheese ravioli was good (she said). They brought a crispy fried thin bread with some sort of yogurt based dip which could be considered a worthy filler while waiting for dinner. However, I felt that a heartier bread with butter might have helped us feel a little more full when we left. Dishes are served very prettily sauced, but the "filling quotient" was a little short. For the record I'm not a big person or a big eater, and I left hungry."

  • "We skiied all day at Breck and were looking for an outstanding meal on our last night at the resort. Several reviews pointed us toward Ember, so we decided to give it a go. We were astounded with the quality of the food, service and presentation of the entrees. The pork osso bucco as well as the lasagne were simply superb! What a marvelous diplay of culinary expertise as well as wonderful, timely service. It is a don't miss evening if you are in Breck and looking for a fusion of tastes and excellence."

  • "Overall the food was very good. The Pear Salad was a nice combination of flavors. The Elk was creatively paired with spaghetti squash. The flavors worked well together. The weakness here was how tough the Elk was and this was the only detractor on the food. The scollops were cooked perfectly. The real key to our enjoyment of the meal was the great service from Parker our server. His insight on how the sides complemented the entrees and which wines (by the glass) would complement the courses was on the mark. I would recommend the restaurant."

  • "This restaurant has an ever changing menu with dishes that include pumpkin squash lasagna and chicken with quinoa. It is definitely a place for foodies. It has become my new favorite restaurant in Breckenridge. The chef changes the menu every winter and every summer, which are the two times I go to Breckenridge. I make it a point to go at least once every season. The service was wonderful as usual. I love this restaurant!"

  • "Embers was a pleasant surprised for our party of 4. We wanted dinner at a nice place on short notice during high ski season. Our standard go-to places in Breck & Vail were booked but we were able to score a table for four at Embers. Embers is located in a lovely Victoria house near Main. Parking can be a challenge but there is parking at the nearby grocery store for 3 hours with no problem. We had a great table on the 2nd floor in the corner overlooking the charming snow covered town. Salmon entree was excellent with a divine light mustard caviar sauce. The elk was also excellent, as were our two salads. The only dish I did love were the cod lollipops, which were a dry with too little fish flavor. Nice wine selection. A top Vail pick."

  • "We arrived early for our reservation, and were greeted warmly that our table was ready. I had failed to note in advance that we needed a booth - we were quickly and graciously relocated. The atmosphere was quite nice, with a large fireplace and a stained glass window overlooking the dining room. Our server was knowledgeable on both the wine & food selections, and provided excellent advice to help select both. We each had different entrees, plus two of us also had the miso soup, which was delicious. Each entree was cooked perfectly - salmon, sea bass, scallops and salad. As a table of four foodies, we were impressed by the dinner, the service, and the experience. We will definitely be dining at Ember during our next trip to Breckenridge."

  • "I found this gem on tripadvisor My wife and I were celebrating our 10 year anniversary as were our friends traveling with us . We had such a wonderful meal and experience we returned again the next evening. The quail is amazing. Also the Elk. And you must leave room for the desert. We tried several of the items on the menu between the two nights . Everything was prepared well ,plated beautifully. And served to us graciously. If you are looking for a romantic ,quiet evening and meal which you will not forget you must visit Ember. Max, Parker and Geoff will treat you like family and will not disappoint. Only wish we would have found them earlier in the week , we could have dined with them again before leaving. We will return each year."

Being in the restaurant business ourselves, we were very critical and as hard as we tried we could not find anything wrong with this restaurant. In fact, the lobster salad was the best salad I've ever had my life .....and I am 50 years old! restaurant truly is a diamond in a sea of glass."

My wife and I have eaten dozens of meals prepared by Scott and each of them has been thoughtfully and carefully rendered. Max Everhart not only understands the concepts of being accomodating of, and gracious to, Ember's customers, but puts these concepts into practice. My wife and I took three family members to Ember last Saturday night, and as always, were treated in the umost hospitable manner by Max. If you are going to be in Breck make certain to eat at Ember."
