Ember RoomTrendy Restaurant with Casual PriceUnusual friendly service for New York City. I had the Thai Chili Mac & Cheese which was spice and delicious. Only complaint was that the pasta wasn't held together with cheese and I had to keep picking them up individually with my fork to eat them. I also had the lobster roll. Not very tasty. The lobster meat had no flavor and it was accompanied with a sweat cream sauce, diced fruit (mangos maybe?) and I think fennel. The only thing good about the lobster roll was the sauce and the roll itself. The french fries that came with it were DELICIOUS! These were served with some sort of sweet chili mayo dressing and a side salad. Definitely going to go back to try some other dishes. I saw a plate with shrimp on it that looked delicious.6/5/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food!Really enjoyed the meal here - service was pretty good although the venue was very noisy.6/1/2013 12:00:00 AMWe had such a great time,We had such a great time, good food, good portion sizes, great service, good prices, nice job!!!6/1/2013 12:00:00 AMalways goodMet friends there after the theater. there were four of us, we ordered from the appetizer menu, 6 different items and shared. then we ordered two different curry dishes and shared. then we ordered two entres and shared. ordered two different deserts and shared all.

Had a very enjoyable meal in a beautiful setting. Don't miss the spicy fish cake appetizers, although the chocolate ribs were the one don point. Ours were dry and uninteresting.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMA true Hot Spot! This restaurant has a nice ambience with a live DJ on Friday night and the food was delicious. The service was excellent! Will definitely return and highly recommend.5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMGem in Theater DistrictEmber Room was deceiving from the outside, looking like a very small intimate restaurant but it actually quite large in the interior. Food was excellent and while the food came out in a reasonable amount of time, I think our server was new and also not fluent in English which made things slightly awkward. We had the chicken curry and terra cotta fish cakes to start which had just enough heat and enabled us to actually taste the food not just the spice. Dinner was pad thai lobster and a lobster roll with the famous fried rice with pork sausage and chorizo. All were delicious. A great spot in the theater district and we would certainly go back there again.4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent!had dinner with couple of friends and the food was amazing. Meatballs & ribs were very memorable. We will definitely come back for apps & cocktails.
BTW: the room is very pretty also4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMTasty Thai-ishVery much enjoyed our pre-theater dinner. One of us got the prix fixe menu, which is a great bargain at $25 for a glass of wine, appetizer, entree, and dessert, the other ordered off the regular menu. Nice portions of VERY tasty food. The ambiance is quite pretty except for the jarring rumbling from whatever system they've got churning below or in the walls. We moved our seats and felt it less, but it is a bit of a distraction.4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMAuthentic and delicious ThaiAuthentic and delicious Thai dishes. Duck confit curry was AMAZING!
Desserts were very impressive and original. Will definitely be going back.4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMeverything was ok except theeverything was ok except the chocolate ribs. very dry!4/17/2013 12:00:00 AMwe were pleasantly surprisedwe were pleasantly surprised by such an interesting menu. All of the appetizers we tried were great. The chocolate short ribs were terrific. Had our 7-yr old asking for more.4/3/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat value; delicious foodWe had an early dinner before a Saturday night show, and the restaurant was not very busy, but starting to pick up. The waitress was very helpful, and gave us thoughtful, detailed recommendations. Service was quick and not overly conspicuous. We were even able to get in two beers at Happy Hour prices! The food was great, unusual, and very reasonably priced for NYC. We had a special Easter appetizer - eggs in a basket of rice noodles with Tamarind sauce -- which was delicious. I loved my Pork Belly, and my husband ate every last bit of sauce on the plate of his chili glazed sea bass. We'll be back...3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMWe went there before theater. We went there before theater. They weren't very busy, Sat. night, but we were there kind of early.
