Diner Reviews
  • "We celebrated our anniversary at Elway's Cherry Creek. The food and the service were excellent. The wait staff was attentive without being intrusive. We were able to have a nice conversation without talking over the other diners. The food was delicious, cooked exactly the way we ordered it."

  • "My wife and I were celebrating our wedding anniversary and were very nicely dressed for the occasion. Seated next to us was a family very poorly dressed. Man was in tank top and wearing visored cap. Many other patrons were arriving in jeans and shorts. We were visually offended."

  • "So happy that we decided to celebrate our 23rd Anniversary at Elway's Cherry Creek. The service and food were outstanding! We came a few minutes early and sat at the bar to have a drink, the bartender was amazing. We were seated promptly at our reservation time and got great answers to every question that we asked of our server. They were there when we needed and away when we didn't so that we could talk and enjoy our meal. We had a romantic corner booth and were pleasantly surprised when they put a candle and a edible " Happy Anniversary" sign in the dessert we ordered to share. When in Denver, you GOTTA GO. We are SO glad that we did!"

  • "The mac and cheese used to be my favorite side to have as my vegetarian entree when I eat here with my carnivorous husband, but it is seriously lacking these days. It seems like it has been dumbed-down. Please kick it up and/or come up with a true vegetarian entree. Thanks."

  • "Our little group had a wonderful time, enjoyed the wonderful entrees and were able to enjoy each others company. Always a great place to go for relaxation."

  • "The food is very good. Steak was cooked perfectly and oysters on the half shell were a treat. Lots of good side dishes to select from."

  • "Our waitress rocked! Very Kind and did not act irritated that she had to serve pretentious people, she was genuinely a very nice caring waitress."

  • "I have gone to Elways for special occasion, for no occasion. Always great food. This time was a special birthday for a friend. Went to lunch and our server was Vanessa. She was delightful and made the occasion really great. Will always return here. Have never been disappointed."

  • "We been regulars at Elways for years and always been super pleased. This time things were a little flat. While the steaks were excellent, the Caesar salad felt like it had been sitting around for a while. The calamari appetizer was so so and short on calamari. In a high end restaurant I expect the server to offer fresh ground pepper, not a small pepper mill on the table. A small thing but I've always thought Elways was great on the small details. As usual the wait staff was impeccable."

  • "I would definitely recommend Elways if you haven't dined there before. The food is consistently well prepared and the service impecible. Nice ambiance for our anniversary!"

  • "We had a great hostess and wait staff. They gave us the perfect amount of attention and the food was DELICIOUS! The sides were fantastic. And the wine and dessert were terrific too. We will be back!"

  • "The restaurant is gorgeous and priced to match (dinner for two cost about $200). The clientele was extremely varied. A large, well-dressed party filed in to a private room in back. Groups of people wearing sports t-shirts and shorts filed in as well. We were seated across from a large table including three well-behaved children. This is not a place to go for romance, that's for sure, so who are they shooting for? Anniversary dinners and tourists? My husband said his prime rib was excellent, though he's had better. My rack of lamb was gorgeous and cooked to perfection. I cannot imagine going there more than once a year."

  • "If you want a restaurant for a special occasion, this is a place you'll enjoy. First: the service is terrific. Second: the food was superb (tender meat, fresh tasty sides, salads were fresh and crisp). Wine was perfect with the filet. Naturally. the price was above the average restaurant but so was the experience."

  • "Very good food and very good service. Portions were large and perfectly suited for sharing. A bit pricy for our ordinary dining out. We were very fortunate to have had a gift card. Very glad we were fortunate to get to go there as we wanted to for a long time."

  • "Birthday dinner for my bride of 35 years - awesome!!! The "short rib off the bone" was truly amazing and fork tender!"

  • "When friends are visiting from out of town, Elway's is my go-to restaurant for brunch, lunch, and dinner. Over the 4th weekend, I took two friends to dinner. The service was outstanding...no hovering, but there when needed. We all had filets that were seasoned and cooked perfectly. The Brussels sprouts hash is a must! My friends loved the small dessert options, and we all enjoyed the brulee spoons. Can't say enough positive things about Elway's!"

  • "We eat here frequently and the food is always fresh and delicious. The service is great with attentive wait staff. You can always count on Elways. The shrimp cocktail is wonderful and besides the steaks, our favorites are the sea bass and fried rice."

  • "I love Elways! But we had Kevin and he was bad. We waited almost 20 min for a burger and soup. I ordered it plain with everything on the side and triple well done. It arrives pink and with cheese. Then it takes another 10 min, Kevin never comes over to check. So the bacon is now cold, and my sister is done with her soup. Kevin hung out in the bar and could have cared less about his tables. We love going to Elways, but this experience makes us think twice Don't get Kevin."

  • "With celiac disease dining out is a trial. A European vacation recently was a revelation that restaurants could indeed care and make sure food was safe AND delicious for the celiac. I expected the same from Elways as I have dined here for years and have known the food to be excellent. They have a separate gluten free menu which was helpful, but unfortunately limited. As I always enjoyed and indeed craved their steaks, I ordered the ribeye. Sadly, the steaks I make at home are tenderer and more flavorful. I was informed that a bit of salt and pepper were all my steak was seasoned with. I think it wasn't enough. And the quality was inferior to what I've had before. So, I guess this restaurant is going to be off my list now."

  • "My mom and dad have just moved to Denver from Honolulu. I've told them about Elway's and how yummy the food is. We celebrated their arrival with dinner. Of course we had to begin with the lamb chop fondue. Is it wrong of me to feel passionately about simple frenched lamb chops and a Queso dip? I had the N.Y. strip, dad had the sirloin, hubby had the N.Y. also. The brussel sprout hash had my dad speechless. Never in this lifetime did he imagine he'd like brussel sprouts. The mashies were smooth and elegant. I'm still stunned that any of us had room for dessert, but in fairness--we split: Key Lime pie and super chocolately cake. My parents raved about how it was the perfect introduction to their new city."

  • "Compared to other steak houses in the Denver area, this also stands out for being more reasonable in price."

  • "I had the rice/duck confit and pork chops and they were both delicious. Dining experience was great but we had to wait a bit to get served at the bar- when there weren't a lot of people."

  • "The service was unbelievably quick - great for people with time constraints. The salads were huge!!"

  • "My Parents went to celebrate their anniversary. The restaurant refused to help grant simple requests to help make this a special dinner and did not even Do anything special for the couple at dessert even when requested. I was very surprised that the management was so rude. Usually in high end restaurants the customer service team tries to go above and beyond for the customers. Elways use to be that way. Not anymore. Very Disappointing"

  • "Very nice for a steak house. Fabulous pork chops and desserts. Like more pizazz in my Caesar salad. Perfectly prepared steaks."

  • "My Mother, a resident of Denver, recommended this restaurant to my wife and me, as we were visiting from Houston. So the three of us ate lunch there last week. I ordered the smash burger and it was fantastic! The meat to bread ratio is what made it (huge, thick patty and small bun). The homemade potato chips were excellent."

  • "Elway's never disappoints, the food and the service is always great! Thank you!"

  • "This was my 1st time dining at Elway's and the food ranked with the finest prime steak houses where I have dined. My daughter and I shared a 28 oz Porterhouse and a Maine lobster tail. The steak was charred on the outside and medium rare inside. Very tender with a deep beef flavor. The lobster was firm and sweet. My only complaint was the service didn't rank with the best restaurants where I've eaten and the butter for the lobster was not heated. Looking for a great steak in Denver, this is the place!"

  • "Other than being seated next to a noisy bar - even when plenty of tables were available, the food made up for it. My 11 yoa granddaughter ordered the 8 oz filet (which was the smallest and least pricey at $37) and she devoured it! My husband enjoyed the buffalo rib eye and I had the veal. This was our third time visiting this location and the food is always top notch. It also has the "homey" touch with the smores dessert option. I had the creme brulee spoons which consist of "just enough" dessert. We will definitely return but not on an outdoor concert night."
