Elway's Cherry CreekI recently dined with my step-motheI recently dined with my step-mother and sister at Elways. My food was excellent, and the server was very helpful.
My sister is a vegan, and went to Elways because it was where her Mother wanted to go to celebrate Mothers Day. They ordered the Mediterranean Salad with Chicken for my step mother, and my sister as well without the chicken and a lemon balsamic vinegarette dressing. That was the best choice, and the lemon balsamic dressing was fabulous. My Mahi Mahi blackened fish sandwich was fabulous and the bean salad excellent as well. It was hard to turn down their fabulous fries, chips and desserts are fantastic.

I wish Elway's had never gone to buffets for special occasions. We used to get away with going down to the downtown location, but now they only offer buffets too. Besides, there is NO WAY i am going to pay $50 bucks for a buffet/steamtable food with everyone's germs. No thanks.

The service was great and the presentation was lovely. There were no issues in splitting several dishes (appetizer and salad and side).
I ordered a medium-rare small filet and my husband asked for a NY strip steak, also cooked medium rare. I'm not convinced that I actually got a filet. It was done perfectly but, I've never had a filet that had so much fat and gristle. My husband's strip steak was far more tender and tasted better. I'm not even sure what cut of meat I think my "filet" really was. I was disappointed by this.

The food and service were excellent, but what made the ocassion was when the staff saw my husband opening a gift and decided to send the three of us a special treat to share, a homemade cupcake. Although they guessed incorrectly and put a Happy Birthday chocolate wafer on the treat it was the gesture that was special. Very observant staff with at least three people assisting. I originally booked my reservation in error for the 14th when we showed up on the 13th and they couldn't find our reservation the quickly checked the 14th and found it! They where very busy that night but offered us a table any ways and that was amazing!

The first was when I had to provide a credit card number to make a lunch reservation for six people. Really, what would have happened had we not been able to go? There was no mention of what sort of charge may have been levied against my card, so how would you have billed me anything? My son had never been there so it was time. His Prime Rib was perfect, Blue Cheese Wedge (the best) but items like the Cocounut Shrimp tasted like frozen fish sticks. The real disappointment was the 13 ounce bone in filet. It was 13 ounces of almost all bone. Maybe I had four small bites of meat. At $46 dollars it was real small and undercooked. Dessert was a brownie and it was just enough to say you had a dessert. we had a little wine tasting before ordering and it was fun.
