Ellyngton's at the Brown PalaceGreat Food and Great ServiceI had brunch at Ellington's last Sunday and it was wonderful. The service was outstanding and the food was abundant and delicious. You certainly will never leave there hungry!6/2/2013 12:00:00 AMa nice dining experiencethe food and service was superb! Although, the overall ambiance and decor was a not quite as formal and romantic as the rest of The Brown Palace.5/26/2013 12:00:00 AMHistoric spotWhat an amazing hotel! I read a book about a murder at this hotel and had to see the place for myself. I met a friend at Elyngrons and had a delicious lunch after exploring the lobby. I will be back for tea and maybe the spa too!5/20/2013 12:00:00 AMAlways an exceptional experienceAlways an exceptional experience and will forever be our Mother's Day family tradition!5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMLeisurely DelightI noticed at 11am that Ellyngton's was turning away "walk-ins" for that day. Yet many tables didn't fill until 12:30 - 12:45. How marvelous that Ellyngton's appreciates an unhurried, leisurely lunch in a delightful atmosphere with a wait staff attentive but calm and relaxed. Food was delicious as always and service was prompt. Wonderful dining experience.5/2/2013 12:00:00 AMBrunch sets the standardOnly Del Frisco's brunch compares. Great live soft jazz, worth it for the desert bar alone.4/28/2013 12:00:00 AMNot bad for a Denver buffettSo I been wanting to try the Brunch here because I didn't think the tea service was in a good spot to relax. I was hoping there were crab legs, but none to my surprise. I liked that they had oysters, but they didn't have the mignonette sauce. The shrimp were huge and there was lemon and cocktail sauce with also some raw shallots, but no suace for the oysters, clams or mussels. You can't eat cocktail sauce with all of those or you won't get the flavor of it. I love the charcuterie. The meats and cheese offering were great and the bacon was nice and thick with no fatty chewiness to it, but I can get good bacon anywhere's.Their carving stations okay, eggs benedict-Delicious, eggs station- ok, but long line. Overall it's okay for 50 bucks.4/28/2013 12:00:00 AMWow!The only one I ever went to that was better, is no longer what it was--and that was the Brown Derby many years ago at the MGM Grand. Franchise is now at Disney and I'm sure it's not the same. Fond memories that will never be repeated. The Brown Palace should be on every must visit list for Denver.4/14/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat, The food was more thanGreat, The food was more than Great, This is theonly place in 20 plus years that we felt the over all dinning experience was inline with the cost4/14/2013 12:00:00 AMPricey but good! While a bit pricey the food was good and there was plenty of it and this is one of the better brunches in town. They had cheese, crackers and dried fruits and nuts; made to order omelets; eggs benedict made to order; carving station; tons of seafood inlcuding sushi, mussels, oysters, shrimp, and clams; bagels and salmon, typical bfast items such as sausage, bacon, hashbrowns, rolls, croissants, and a huge dessert spread complete with chocolate fountain (white and milk). It was all very good. Great coffee. Fresh squeezed OJ. Great service.4/14/2013 12:00:00 AMSuper expensive brunch butSuper expensive brunch but amazing!!! The chocolate fountain is the icing on the cake!4/7/2013 12:00:00 AMPerfect BrunchMy husband took me here for a pre-birthday brunch and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. When we first walked in the concierge told us a little history on the hotel then escorted us to the dining room. We were greeted by a very friendly hostess who seated us. Our server was prompt and courteous, always there for refills of coffee, orange juice, etc. As for the food we mostly ate the delicious smoked salmon, lox, smoked trout and shrimp. We each ordered an omelet with crab and it was very good too. Just relaxing and being with my husband was wonderful. We recently moved from TX to CO and had never been to the hotel, but my husband declared brunch there at least once a month! Also forgot to add, the jazz group was exceptional!4/7/2013 12:00:00 AMEllyngton's is everythingEllyngton's is everything a restaurant should be. It is elegant, the service is outstanding and attentive. Most important it is quiet.
It is very difficult to find anything other than an extremely noisy restaurant. I usually have to put in ear plugs to help bring the noise
down somewhat.
The experience of quiet dining is exquisite!3/26/2013 12:00:00 AMThe two times I have had theThe two times I have had the luxury of attending the Sunday Dom Brunch at Ellyngtons have been like sitting in the lap of luxury. The staff is friendly and nice and the food is prepared to the best. While I believe the seafood may not be as fresh as other places that specialize in it, the dessert bar more than makes up for the slight lack in that section.3/24/2013 12:00:00 AMNice to have a quiet restaurantNice to have a quiet restaurant where one can have a private conversation.3/20/2013 12:00:00 AMFood is both plentiful andFood is both plentiful and delicious! We are a "foodie" family with chefs - both professional and non-professional - in the mix. We had a group of 11 for a special occasion aged 20 - 99 years old and all enjoyed not only the food but the wonderful, friendly ambiance. This is one of our favorite spots for special occasions as it works for everyone.3/17/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent service, entertainmentExcellent service, entertainment and food.
