A word from Elliott's on Linden
When philosophy and action proceed hand-in-hand, something extraordinary happens: a guiding principle is formed.

For Chef/Owner Mark Elliott, that principle is to serve the best and freshest locally produced agrarian products to his guests. It's a principle that was formed in Mark's childhood, and as a young apprentice chef in Southeastern England. Mark would further develop a deep connection to the green grocer, the baker, the fish monger, the butcher, the cheesemaker. Daily sourcing for the kitchens provisions was a way of life.

From this restaurant's first days, Chef Elliott has forged relationships with regional farmers to obtain their produce, livestock and artisan products when they are at the peak of freshness.

Today, Chef Elliott continues to serve guests cuisine crafted from the fresh ingredients that the area's farmers have to offer. It's a principle we live with every plate we serve.

  • "Was with my wife in Pinehurst for a meeting and found Elliott's on the OpenTable app. My wife and I had an incredible dining experience. The owner and head chef also came ou and gave us the story of how he ended up in Pinehurst from England and what keeps him from opening a restaurant in Charleston, Savannah, etc. The glazed salmon was perfectly grilled and the fresh local greens were lightly seasoned and sauteed. Very comfortable and intimate atmosphere. I have never written an online review for any restaurant, good or bad until now. Elliott's made me do it."

  • "Every time we visit Pinehurst we have lunch and/or dinner at Elliott's and it's always fantastic. The menu is diverse and fresh with every visit."

  • "This was my first time eating at Elliots, my husband had been before…and I LOVED it! The bartender was perfect at suggesting a wine I would like and our dinner was perfect! Can't wait to go back!"

  • "We had been to EOL a while ago and thought the drinks were great but the food was meh. Love the concept, but it just didn't stand out. SO glad we gave it a second try! Flash forward to July 2014 and the food was amazing! They have overhauled their menu, livened up their kitchen, brought in several sous chefs, and have students interning from the local community college. Not only are they spreading the idea of farm to table, they are bringing in new ideas. Did I mention it was delicious? Stop reading this and go!"

  • "The food was excellent, for the most part. My wife ordered Crab Cake, Salad, and Fish. I had Salad and the Rack of Lamb. I am used to getting getting 4 ribs in a lamb rack and was disappointed that there were only 2 small (very thin) ribs worth. At $39 it's a bit petite for the price. I suppose that this was made up for by the confit. The lamb was delicious although slightly overcooked (I ordered 'rare', it came 'med-rare'). The Crab Cake passed muster by my Baltimore-Born wife but her fish seemed a little overly salted. Still, it was a good trip to our "neighborhood restaurant" - The desserts were outstanding."

  • "We were from out of state looking for a nice restaurant to celebrate our 37th wedding anniversary. A friend suggested we visit Elliot's and a great suggestion it turned out to be. The food and service were top notched. Many of the vegetables used in our dishes came right from the Chef's own garden as well as knowing that all his ingredients came from the local farmers. The portions were very generous. My wife had the Salmon cooked on a cedar plank that was cooked perfectly. My daughter ate the Rack of Lamb and she's licking the bones. I ventured out of my box and ate the Filet of Bison, which turned out to be very tender and not as gamey as I expected. Extensive wine list added to the ambience of our dinner. I would definitely return."

  • "We loved the atmosphere. Farm to table concept worked great. They have an incredible Filet as well as a great bison filet. Reduction sauces showed time and attention to detail."

  • "I usually give a break on service because I've been on that side of the business before but this one I can't let slide. We were sat, and had to wait for 20 minutes before the server even came over. It was obvious to the manager we had no service but she didn't care. Long story short, we had to wait 45 minutes for the server to take our order. The kitchen was great and on the ball but having to wait 1 hour and 15 minutes to eat because of the server is a bit much for me. We had homemade tater tots with Buffalo/Elk chili that were phenomenal. I had the rabbit pot pie and it was outstanding. My girlfriend is a light eater so she had the appetizer portion of the scallops and the mac and cheese; both were fantastic. The food is great."

  • "I have been to Pinehurst 4-5 times and this was the best meal we have had by far. The caliber of the food is extraordinarily high. Service was excellent - when an elk chop was cooked more than requested, the kitchen graciously replaced it. The rabbit pot pie and cedar planked salmon were highlights. Portions are very large. This is a real find."

  • "Elliott's, like always, better and better. The service, food, wine all absolutely first class. We have been coming here since Marc opened and we are still impressed with everything and pleased to take our friends from around the world here. It never fails to provide a memorable dining experience."

  • "We had early dinner; appreciated the parking assistance because it was very busy in the parking lot on arrival. The resaturant service, food and atmosphere all outstanding. Sadly we did not get seated at our requested table because they said someone had reserved it before we did, that was the only disappointment. Everything else was absolutely wonderful. What an enjoyable evening we had."

  • "Elliott's is one of the best restaurants anywhere. When it gets as busy as it was Thursday night during the US Open, it gets louder, the wait staff is pressed to deliver their usual excellent attention and service, and the food preparation also suffers. Our salads and appetizers (shrimp and grits; chopped salad) were superb; a very nice staff member came over early to be sure all was well and had delivered a basket of bread with the suggestion to eat them while they're hot. The bread was cold. Pork chops were tasty but nothing special. I'll try again when there's less excitement in town."

  • "I really liked my chopped salad to start and would go back just for that. The salmon special was excellent; it had a buttery texture that seemed to melt in your mouth. The biscuits were sinfully addictive (they were small, so I didn't feel too guilty having three)! Everyone else enjoyed their meal, as well, and we shared a wonderful bottle of wine. We'll return the next time we are in the area."

  • "Elliott's on Linden hits a home run on all levels - food, service, atmosphere! Wait staff is polished, informed, and friendly. The food is exquisite! The atmosphere is hands down the best in the area. Go there now!"

  • "I have been an Elliott's diner since 2001 - it's quality of food is consistently fabulous. My favorite is the planked salmon 'special' though it is always an evening choice, albeit 'of menu'. Our recent visit had a few bumps but as a high level restaurant should, it was immediately corrected and smoothed over. Our wait staff appeared new and was not as good we typically have or expect here. One appetizer arrived with the diner not wanting to begin without the other three of us eating. As a result, his calamari cooled down. Two of the others were salads and one was the sea scallops. The captain came just to check on us and immediately remedied the situation when she saw we were having a problem. What could have been a disaster was adverted. "

  • "We were visiting the area on a golf trip and we found Elliotts. The food was very good, we were able to relax and take all of the time we wanted and our server Sarah, paced everything as we requested. She was delightful and our food was great, especially the Bison. The wine list was good, we had no problem finding something that we were interested in. Overall, it was a great choice and we would go back again"

  • "They have at least three dishes that rank as the best I have ever had. Their menu is unique, and and is made from locally grown and raised farmers."

  • "Based on the previous reviews I read this restaurant did not meet my expectations. Overall, nothing special and the prices for the dinner entrees were overpriced for the food and presentation. Their is not presentation or anything special. I had lunch at this restaurant on the same day and the lunch is better than the dinner. "

  • "Food was extremely well prepared, fresh, creative menu, and very tasty. It's a farm fresh to resturant place with a notable NC list of where the food is specifically from. Great service, great wine, wonderful food, splendid deserts, and all done in a comfortable cool vibe simple setting. I am a fan and will be back. "

  • "I stopped for lunch on my way to Charlotte. The chicken and spinach crepe in a creamy mushroom sauce was delicious. It wasn't easy to decide what to order as the beef stroganoff and a couple other dishes also sounded very attractive. The wine list is well thought out and several wines by the glass held appeal. The atmosphere is relaxing and attractive and the service is competent and gracious. I always feel good after a meal here. "

  • "I was impressed with Elliott's on Linden. It was off the beaten path a bit in Pinehurst but not too far out by any stretch. The food was very good, and the wine list was substantial. I did not spend any time at the bar, but it looked like a good place to relax. Would definitely return."

  • "Linden's continues to be a great restaurant to bring family and co-workers to when I'm in town. The staff seemed somewhat overwhelmed, however, our food was excellent as usual. The kitchens combination of local produce and southern style continues to provide a superior dining experience. Linden's continues to be a rare gem in the area and I highly recommend it to friends and family and those seeking a great dining experience. "

  • "We hadn't been to Elliot's in a while but it was the restaurant at which we had our first date years ago.Part of the restaurant has been converted into a bar w/a casual bistro environment which is great for after work drinks w/friends but not the classy dining experience we recalled from years past. Long gone are the linen table cloths & romantic ambiance. Now you see vinyl placemats & mason jar candles. The shrimp & grits luckily were just as great as always. The server did not go over specials until I asked for them. He didn't know what one of the fish specials tasted like & couldn't answer my questions. I went with salmon & it was terrific but my husbands elk dish left something to be desired. Casual atmosphere with fine dining prices."
