A word from Elliott's on Linden
When philosophy and action proceed hand-in-hand, something extraordinary happens: a guiding principle is formed.

For Chef/Owner Mark Elliott, that principle is to serve the best and freshest locally produced agrarian products to his guests. It's a principle that was formed in Mark's childhood, and as a young apprentice chef in Southeastern England. Mark would further develop a deep connection to the green grocer, the baker, the fish monger, the butcher, the cheesemaker. Daily sourcing for the kitchens provisions was a way of life.

From this restaurant's first days, Chef Elliott has forged relationships with regional farmers to obtain their produce, livestock and artisan products when they are at the peak of freshness.

Today, Chef Elliott continues to serve guests cuisine crafted from the fresh ingredients that the area's farmers have to offer. It's a principle we live with every plate we serve.

The wait staff seemed to act with a bit of undeserved pretentiousness. My entree (elk) was significantly undercooked. Wines were overpriced.

We had not been to Elliotts for dinner for awhile, but Saturday night convinced us to go back again soon. Everything was lovely, especially the food which was wonderfully speciall. I started with the Pear and Stilton salad and then had the Salmon on a plank for my entree. Others in the party had the scallops, the elk, the potstickers, another salmon and a yummy molten chocolate cake. Everyone loved every bite.

Visited Elliott's while in the Pinehurst for a business conference and after reading other reviews decided to take my husband there for a "nice" night out. We were not disappointed, service was prompt but not overbearing and the wine list was very nice even though a favorite of ours was not available though on the list. I would definitely return if in the area.

We had heard wonderful things about Elliott's on Linden, and it did not disappoint. With locally sourced NC ingredients, and info about farms on the back of the menu, it was a great farm to fork experience. It was our wedding anniversary so I mentioned that on my OpenTable reservation. I was pleased that the staff took note of that and seated us in quiet tucked-away corner - the waitress also congratulated us. Despite a few large groups at the restaurant, the noise level was comfortable and we were able to carry on a conversation without distraction. Our meals - bison and filet - were expertly prepared. The bartender also knows his craft - my cosmopolitan was perfect. Thanks to the chef and staff for a wonderful date night experience.

Just a short drive from the resort and the pinehurst village, Elliott's on Linden is a gem. A creative menu executed perfectly by the kitchen. My salmon, served from a cedar plank, was moist and flavorful. My wife loved the chicken and my daughter and her husband raved about the bison. Appetizers were perfect. Wine list contained a wide selection at reasonable prices. We had an excellent Zinfandel. Evening was finished with desserts featuring local fruits. A trademark seems to be locally sourced or grown in the chef's garden foods. A delightful occasion in a beautiful setting. A favorite of ours in Pinehurst!

Took a group of 8 for dinner and have been here before was talking about his great it was. Needless to say we arrived and were seated promptly and placed a drink order, this is where it went downhill. We waited over 45 minutes for our drinks. Finally our appetizers arrived without drinks???? We had to ask 3x for drinks no one came to check on us or bring bread we asked for it. We wanted wine with dinner that was brought out after we finished dinner we cancelled it at that point. The service was the most horrid service I have ever experienced anywhere. The food was as great as I remembered it. I will give them another chance and thd manager comped our drinks but turned out to be disappointing.

Elliott's on Linden has made some changes. There is now a full bar and the dining room. When I made my dinner reservation I thought I would be seated in the dining room but was seated in the bar area at a less than desirable table that all foot traffic had to pass. I asked if we could sit in the dining room and was told it was all reserved. I wish I would have known that when I made my reservation. The bar area is fine if you are there for bar food but not for finer dining and especially for a special themed menu. The service and food were both very good and somewhat made up for the bad table. So beware if you are making a reservation and want to sit in the dining room specifically request it.

We've gone for lunch on Aug 15, my birthday, and for our anniversary for past 3 years and look forward to it each time! We've shared the chicken/mushroom/spinach for appetizer each time! The grapes poached in port wine on the dessert were spectacular this time, among other things. As people who rarely eat out because our food is better says Husband Ron, and who grow most of our own food, having Elliott's means a lot to us, even having to drive an hour. We tell everyone how lovely it is to have Elliott's our preferred spot for dining.

Was with my wife in Pinehurst for a meeting and found Elliott's on the OpenTable app. My wife and I had an incredible dining experience. The owner and head chef also came ou and gave us the story of how he ended up in Pinehurst from England and what keeps him from opening a restaurant in Charleston, Savannah, etc. The glazed salmon was perfectly grilled and the fresh local greens were lightly seasoned and sauteed. Very comfortable and intimate atmosphere. I have never written an online review for any restaurant, good or bad until now. Elliott's made me do it.

We had been to EOL a while ago and thought the drinks were great but the food was meh. Love the concept, but it just didn't stand out. SO glad we gave it a second try! Flash forward to July 2014 and the food was amazing! They have overhauled their menu, livened up their kitchen, brought in several sous chefs, and have students interning from the local community college. Not only are they spreading the idea of farm to table, they are bringing in new ideas. Did I mention it was delicious? Stop reading this and go!

The food was excellent, for the most part. My wife ordered Crab Cake, Salad, and Fish. I had Salad and the Rack of Lamb. I am used to getting getting 4 ribs in a lamb rack and was disappointed that there were only 2 small (very thin) ribs worth. At $39 it's a bit petite for the price. I suppose that this was made up for by the confit. The lamb was delicious although slightly overcooked (I ordered 'rare', it came 'med-rare'). The Crab Cake passed muster by my Baltimore-Born wife but her fish seemed a little overly salted. Still, it was a good trip to our "neighborhood restaurant" - The desserts were outstanding.

We were from out of state looking for a nice restaurant to celebrate our 37th wedding anniversary. A friend suggested we visit Elliot's and a great suggestion it turned out to be. The food and service were top notched. Many of the vegetables used in our dishes came right from the Chef's own garden as well as knowing that all his ingredients came from the local farmers. The portions were very generous. My wife had the Salmon cooked on a cedar plank that was cooked perfectly. My daughter ate the Rack of Lamb and she's licking the bones. I ventured out of my box and ate the Filet of Bison, which turned out to be very tender and not as gamey as I expected. Extensive wine list added to the ambience of our dinner. I would definitely return.

I usually give a break on service because I've been on that side of the business before but this one I can't let slide. We were sat, and had to wait for 20 minutes before the server even came over. It was obvious to the manager we had no service but she didn't care. Long story short, we had to wait 45 minutes for the server to take our order. The kitchen was great and on the ball but having to wait 1 hour and 15 minutes to eat because of the server is a bit much for me. We had homemade tater tots with Buffalo/Elk chili that were phenomenal. I had the rabbit pot pie and it was outstanding. My girlfriend is a light eater so she had the appetizer portion of the scallops and the mac and cheese; both were fantastic. The food is great.

I have been to Pinehurst 4-5 times and this was the best meal we have had by far. The caliber of the food is extraordinarily high. Service was excellent - when an elk chop was cooked more than requested, the kitchen graciously replaced it. The rabbit pot pie and cedar planked salmon were highlights. Portions are very large. We had early dinner; appreciated the parking assistance because it was very busy in the parking lot on arrival. The resaturant service, food and atmosphere all outstanding. Sadly we did not get seated at our requested table because they said someone had reserved it before we did, that was the only disappointment. Everything else was absolutely wonderful. Elliott's is one of the best restaurants anywhere. When it gets as busy as it was Thursday night during the US Open, it gets louder, the wait staff is pressed to deliver their usual excellent attention and service, and the food preparation also suffers. Our salads and appetizers (shrimp and grits; chopped salad) were superb; a very nice staff member came over early to be sure all was well and had delivered a basket of bread with the suggestion to eat them while they're hot. The bread was cold. Pork chops were tasty but nothing special. I'll try again when there's less excitement in town.

I really liked my chopped salad to start and would go back just for that. The salmon special was excellent; it had a buttery texture that seemed to melt in your mouth. The biscuits were sinfully addictive (they were small, so I didn't feel too guilty having three)! Everyone else enjoyed their meal, as well, and we shared a wonderful bottle of wine. We'll return the next time we are in the area.
