Ambiance was great; waiter was attentive; great selection of beers. However, the crab stew was a watery broth with only little flecks of crab; the sauce on my wife's fish was almost too salty to eat; and my sausage plate was surprisingly bland. I think they do a better job with red meat, as that was what I had on my prior visit, and was much happier. I will go back, but be more selective on my menu selections.

We enjoy going to EMBC because their menu includes something for everyone no matter how hungry you are. Their burgers are just as delicious as their entrees and the portions are generous. As much as I love fries with my burger, I always opt for their homemade chips - crispy with just a hint of spice. Daily specials are varied and always prepared well plus they don't mind 'tweaking' if you want to make any changes. Service is always top notch.

Wanted to try for Father's Day. The prices were reasonable and the food was fine. Oysters were bland. Lamb steak, ribeyes with crab cakes and a thai red curry chicken and shrimp special were our selections. The ribeyes are a little thin but the price is right. The shrimp dish was tasty. The beer was cold and good. May try again so we can try other menu items but not too soon.

This bar/restaurant is a best bet if you are just looking for a friendly, pleasant place to eat and visit with friends or family. Its food is not fancy or creative, but is perfectly acceptable. The cost is reasonable. Go, have a good time and leave smiling.

We come to EMBC quite often since it's in our neighborhood and usually parking isn't an issue. We also enjoy it since the menu is diverse enough that we can find something whether we want a full meal or just a sandwich or appetizers and a drink. The food is well prepared, the service is very professional and friendly without being intrusive and the prices are good. Check out their website for evening specials that are great bargains. You won't be disappointed.

Have been here twice, once for beers in the basement and once for dinner with a large group upstairs. The lighting and ambiance are great and the volume level was perfect (some of the members of our party were older, and it was nice that everyone could hear each other). The service was also great and on target. The only issues was the food: the oysters had delicious flavor but were not cold, the fried rockfish was ho-hum, and a number of us got the scallops which were salty and overall not very good (and much too expensive to not be very good).

The food and service were great, and the decor was well thought out.... but the lack of any partitioning gave the impression of eating in a barn... It would probably be fabulous for very large groups, but for valentines day this year, me and my wife FELT like we were in a very large group... which wasn't what we were after on Feb 14... If you have that in mind going in... It should be Great.

The food and service were great! My husband enjoyed the crab and lobster mac & cheese. I had the venison steak, which was prepared a little on the rare side but OK for me. I especially enjoy that this restaurant offers game meats. Our waiter was very attentive, offering ideas on menu choices. Our table was in a spot that was a little drafty. This is a restaurant that I often like to take our out-of-town guests to.

I had family coming in from out of town and i used open table so that would be one less thing I had to worry about. We walked around Old Ellicott City and then went to dinner. We showed up 30mins prior to our reservation, and Ellicott Mills Brewing Company was able to accommodate my party of 6.

We been dining here ocassionally for years, the food just isn't what it used to be. I used to go here for unique game meats and overall cheerful and cool ambiance. Now the only dish that was really enjoyed by the four diners (that had separate items) was the sausage platter. The specials weren't special. The appetizers were just OK. The ambiance is a bit tired and the server stretched too thin. The beverages HAVE maintained their standards and beer samplers were greatly enjoyed by the birthday guy. The wine selection was nice and all beverages were all reasonably priced. We went down to the basement bar and enjoyed the great selection of single barrell bourbons & single malt Scotches. We'll go here just for drinks in the future.

I am a person who enjoys trying new places to eat other than the typical chain style establishments. I was meeting up with an old friend and worked for a place someplace convenient for both of us. Ellicott City was that place. I checked open table to find a casual, different and interesting spot and saw the Ellicott Mills Brewing Company. We met for lunch and was very pleased with the selection, quality and service. There was a small lunch crowd, but my guess is that it is a busy spot on weekends and evenings. I plan to go back for a casual dinner on night with some friends. I would recommend it.

Our family is spread out through MD so each Sun we meet for brunch/lunch. This was our first time here, and we thoroughly enjoyed it. .The waitress was very accommodating to our young grandson, and he had a very pleasant experience, which is important to us.. We are alway on the lookout for restaurants that are a reasonable distance between all family members, and we have found a great option in Ellicott Mills Brewing Company. This will definitely go on the list of restaurant choices for family meeting spots, and we will definitely return. Great choice for an excellent family dining experience! There were also many couples there. Must be a great find all around. Kudos to everyone there!!

I have only eaten here twice in recent years. Both times the food, energy level, and service has been fine. I have found, though, that the chairs used at their tables upstairs are extremely uncomfortable to sit in for a longer period of time. Both times I was there my husband and I were meeting old friends and wanted to catch up with one another. We were given plenty of time to do so, but I was so uncomfortable from sitting in these chairs that my back hurt terribly. This has NEVER happened at any restaurant we have been to and occurred on both occasions that we hate here. . . . so it has to be the chairs.
