"Very nice. My friend was almost 30 minutes late, and they did not rush me or try to make me order or anything. They brought me a glass of wine, some tasty bread, and let me wait. All the food was great, loved the salmon. We both thought the bread pudding dessert was nothing special, though. Maybe better with vanilla ice cream?"

"Restaurant was in tip-top shape. Fairly new; opened in November 2011. Creme Brulee was awesome! I had the fried chicken and my friend had the cod & chips. Portions were large but the food was a bit bland and lacked seasoning. I'll give it a second visit before I pass judgement. Could have just been an off night."

"Elizabeth's has potential, but needs to immediately improve service dramatically. It has an interesting menu featuring fresh, local, sustainable food in a nice space. The large outdoor deck will be a great draw when temperatures stay warm in the evening.That's a great model. But without significantly more professional wait staff it will fail. As a life long UWS resident who has seen that space turn over constantly I am rooting for it to thrive. But it needs to move quickly. I'll go back and hope it's better all around."

"The food made up for the service. We were caught in a shift change and waited at the table. However we were very pleased with the food- crab cake app with Apple and fennel was great- we were 8 pp an all enjoyed the entrees- our favorites were the Pork Chop, Hanger Steak (really good) and chicken.Great setting- loved the local beer selection as well."

"We responded to a rare and enthusiastic recommendation form a friend and walked the few blocks to Elizabeth's. Fate did not smile upon us, she positively grinned at us - we had a fantastic meal and marveled afterward that such a fine restaurant - one that we already knew would become the regular or default destination - was so close to home. The service is attentive, friendly and unobtrusive. The setting is vibrant and reminiscent of a gracious Caribbean manor inhabited by a welcoming cosmopolite. And the food... comforting without resorting to nursery fare. The menu offers a sophisticated slant for a range of appetites, whether a midweek supper or a more august weekend dinner. I swooned. Even the Brussels sprouts are brilliant!"

"Somewhat disappointed in this attractive, visually-appealing UWS place. Service was very slow, inattentive and unapologetic. Food was just ok; not nearly as good as suggested in other reviews. Menu promised a smoothie to be included with brunch, which we realized upon leaving; it was never mentioned or served."
