Southern hospitality, fine coastal cuisine, and well-chosen wines in a comfortable, elegant 1900 mansion have made Elizabeth on 37th a favorite destination in Savannah for 24 years. Inspired by Chef Elizabeth Terry, Elizabeth on 37th continues to serve a sumptuous combination of traditional and innovative dishes, directed by Chef Kelly Yambor. The wine program and service staff are led by owners Greg and Gary Butch. Elizabeth on 37th is located in the Victorian District. The mansion, built for a cotton broker, is decorated with historic Savannah colors and patterns, fresh flowers, original paintings and ceramics, and is entered through fragrant herb gardens. *For parties larger than 8, please contact the restaurant for availability via phone or email.   • "I've eaten here maybe half a dozen times in the past 15 years. (It would be much more, but I live 900 miles away!) It has always been amazing, but this time was even better than in the past. The ease with which they accommodated the eclectic group of diners I was with was impressive. And yet, everything brought to the table, including complimentary side dishes, fit the tastes of everyone at the table. Dinner at Elizabeth is an experience to treasure. Anything you order is sure to be delicious!"

Wife had flounder with basmati rice, butter beans, bacon, and vidalia onion.... she ate every bite; I had red snapper served over a tomato, butter bean, onion salsa - memorably delicious. We both said that it was the best meal we've had in quite some time. Would recommend to anyone."

This year we celebrated my birthday and unfortunately we did not get dessert as we wanted to go to Leopold's while in town, but the line there was crazy. We now wish we had chosen to eat dessert here!"

  • "This was our first time to dine here after several trips to Savannah. Glad we finally tried it. Food was very good. Don't be afraid to try the specials of the day. Almost everything we got was not on the usual menu. Loved the Gullah Fried Rice topped with red snapper. Our server was very cordial and made our visit a good one. Although it was nice and quiet, I think we might have enjoyed sitting in one of the main rooms rather than the sunroom, so you may want to ask about where you will be seated when you make reservations. Overall, it was a very good meal!"

  • "It wasn't quite a tourist spot, but it was remniscient of restaurants in NY, SF, Atlanta where you need to go one time (only), if for nothing other than to say you've been. The food was very good, the service could not have been better, but I've eaten in better restaurants (primarily food-wise) in larger cities at lower cost. In fact my only complaint might have been the prices, which I don't object to on the face of it, but do regarding the food. The food was good, even very good, but I've eaten better, more original dishes, where the ambience was better for less. All in all, I'd not say stay away, but there is better food and atmosphere in Savannah for a bit less money than Elizabeth's."

Lots of service staff scurrying around but we still poured our own wine. Quality of food was good but little inspiration in preparation or presentation. Boring to the palate best describes our experience. Not a do over."

Our waiter was superb and made our meal memorable on a number of levels. The ambiance of the mansion is captivating. The food was divine. My wife and I only ordered two appetizers each because we were not hungry after five days of eating on Hilton Head and Savannah."

  • "The atmosphere is very comfortable for a romantic dinner. The staff was very friendly and we thoroughly enjoyed our food and wine. We were told that Elizabeth's has their own garden where they get fresh herbs and greens. It was evident in the fresh taste of the salad and seasoning of our entree. Our waiter was very helpful in assisting us with our wine selection which paired well with both of our entrees. Elizabeth on 37th is on our list of restaurants to revisit the next time we are in Savannah."

The menu is great and the food is exceptionally good from the first amuse bouche all the way to dessert. The setting is lovely, in a beautiful old mansion. Finally the service was very attentive. They are also very accommodating for food allergies. Wonderful fine dining. Looking forward to returning the next time I am in Savannah!"

  • "I had such high expectations for this restaurant, based on several friends recommendations. The restaurant is in an old home, and the ambiance was perfect, as was the service. Unfortunately the food was somewhat disappointing. The crab appetizer and fish special for the evening were perfectly prepared. One of the people in our party had the vegetarian entree, which was overcooked and looked totally unappetizing. The waiter should have guided her to her other choice. Go for the experience, but Savannah has a lot of restaurants that have better food."

  • "We dine at Elizabeth's at least once every other month. Food is varied and consistently good. Service is usually attentive and not overbearing. My wife had the Crab Cakes with Cream Corn appetizer which is her favorite, followed by the Almond Crusted Grouper. Very Good. I went to one of my favorites, the Double Cut Chops. Great. If your looking for Southern Charm and very good food, your good to go. "

  • "We had high hopes for a special dinner to celebrate our daughters graduation from SCAD and were disappointed with the selection and quality of the food. Three of us had seafood entrees, all were bland and ho-hum, not worthy of the high price. The clam appetizer was very good however scallops just fair. We were disappointed that there was no lamb or duck entrees."

  • "While vacationing in Savannah, we enjoyed five wonderful dinners at some of the city's best restaurants - Elizabeth was the clear winner - complex flavor profiles, beautiful presentations, strong wine list, elegant surroundings, professional service (perhaps a bit rushed). Noble Fare was also excellent - intimate decor, pleasant service, but minor preparation issues (pork was dry) and very large portion sizes place it a notch behind. Alligator Soul and Local 11ten made fine showings as well. Least pleasing was The Old Pink House - while the food was good and the service professional, this is a restaurant aimed at tourist - large scale food production, stereotypical preparations, and even a roving singer seeking tips. "

Set in a historic old home somewhat removed from the tourist zone in historic down town the ambiance of the restaurant is simply fantastic. The menu is relatively small, which usually means a focus on quality, but was diverse in its offering. Our water/co owner Greg helped us assemble a four course dinner that included both specials and items from the regular menu that was absolutely sublime. The food is outstanding and the overall experience left us feeling like we go a glimpse of authentic Savannah culture. I will never visit Savannah without going back to this restaurant."
