Diner Reviews
  • "It was very good, the only thing was that chef Humm was absent. The staff didn't know where he was & when he would return. But it was never the less outstanding!"

  • "A culinary adventure - and a brilliant interpretation of "grande cuisine""

  • "Eleven Madison Park is, quite simply, one of the best restaurant experiences available on the planet."

  • "Just the only one best restaurant I ever have experienced. Every dishes had stories and different from other restaurants' ones. Hope to get there every season if i can afford. The lifetime must-be restaurant period."

  • "I knew it was going to be epic but truly was more than that. We felt special and important from start to end. Go with an open mind and palate and you'll be fine. It is nice to go to a restaurant and not have to make decisions about what to order. Except for their 131 page wine list, but you can also leave that up to the hands of their talented sommeliers. Thank you to each and every staff member who made our evening amazing!"

  • "My experience was just perfect. Despite it being a Monday night, the food remained impeccable and unforgettable. My date and I had a fabulous time and every server was courteous and inviting. The night was a sort of re-education on food; I highly recommend the manhattan cart where they demonstrated all the different nuances between the styles found throughout Manhattan and Brooklyn. I just had so much fun and fascinated by every course. I can't speak highly enough."

  • "As a long-time fan of Daniel Hamm at Campton Place in San Francisco, I was thrilled to have the opportunity to introduce my beloved partner to Daniel's brilliance at 11 Madison Park. Our experience, from beginning to end, blew away even my high expectations. From the art deco ambience, to the attentive but not overbearing service, to the near- endless stream of magnificent, creative courses, this meal achieved top place in our history of remarkable dining experiences."

  • "I have nothing to complain about it. Everything was amazing, every hundred dollar spent worth it. It's expensive, of course, but it's not just a meal, it's an event. A 4 hours event."

  • "Before reading my review, keep in mind that I rarely eat at extremely upscale restaurants. I thought that the experience was amazing. The service was incredible with waitstaff knowledgeable about seemingly everything. At one point, I asked a question that the waitstaff could not answer, and she immediately pulled the chef out to briefly speak to me and help answer my question. Regarding the food, I gave it four out of five stars. It was delicious for the most part, but this hopefully will be a good reminder to some that you might be experiencing tons of food that taste different than you are normally used to eating. I loved most of it, but there were some that just wasn't as amazing to me. Overall though, amazing."

  • "Everything was exceptional. The staff the menu was fabulous. To my surprise you were were allowed in the kitchen to actually see the workings of a fantastic restaurant. For me it was a great experience to see the chefs prepare their WORKS OF ART on a plate. Sometimes I didn't want to eat the wonderful presentations. I suggested to my server if Eleven Madison Park would give cooking lessons to just a small group on HOW TO MAKE PREPARE SOME OF THE WONDERFUL FLAVORS on their tasting menu. There were so many FLAVORS that I can't name each, but all were amazing. I am sorry I can't send pictures of the kitchen. No one would believe how well run it is. At this wonderful restaurant they even iron their table cloths. WOW!! I can't wait to go back."

  • "EMP is our culinary life as we imagine perfection, as if we were sultans who could order up majestic dining experiences at the clap of our hands. In short, it is the Best Restaurant in the History of Food. From the moment one enters, the experience is one of seamless perfection. There is a choreography to EMP. The service is efficiency blanketed by a layer of warmth. Bright, scrubbed, attentive with a fluidity and ballet of movement. And the food…the FOOD! Each new flavor is an explosion of Pure Joy! It’s as if the chefs have invented new colors. What truly distinguishes EMP is their ability to improvise with effortless cool. It will be the type of meal you speak about years from now in hushed tones. Go. Eat. Transcend."

  • "Dinner took over 3 hours (despite our request to move faster) and was incredibly pretentious. The food was okay, not great, and nothing was filling or satisfying. Emperor has no clothes."

  • "Eleven Madison Park is staffed with some of the most talented and passionate people in the restaurant. Their people really make the experience. The service was outstanding. The menu was also fantastic (and mostly unpretentious) and they try to make the dining experience interactive and engaging. If you like food, EMP is a must."

  • "This place is an incredible experience - 14 course dinner, imaginative dishes, well-balanced menu, special - purpose tableware. If you are looking for a restaurant to celebrate a special occasion, this is definitely top of the list."

  • "We went to madison with really high exportations, and they meet. The service was good, but the food was outstanding. The menu was like a tasting menu, and we got around 20 platters with interesting food. We asked the waiter if he could pair up wine for every dishes, and he did it with the budget around menu price. I would suggest you to do the same, because that was totally worth it."

  • "This was my second time at Eleven Madison Park. Another great experience! It's good to know they mix it up, as the food was different than it was when I was there last August."

  • "Fantastic service, fantastic atmosphere! Amazing food and wine."

  • "I've visited some of the restaurants on the Pellegrion list, amongst them Noma. Some of the dishes reminded me of Noma - the sea scallop and the sea urchin. The main course - the duck - reminded me more of a fantastic french restaurant. The playfulness of the Picnic basket was charming."

  • "EMP is a favorite among many of my friends, some of whom dine there several times a year. To be honest, I was not very impressed with the food. It is probably a matter of personal taste preferences, but I felt there was not enough texture in the food - too much foam everywhere (it appeared on several of the dishes), crunchy things not really that crunchy, etc.. Everything was also TOO much in taste (e.g. too salty, too rich, too sour). I recently ate at Atera, which I think is on par with EMP, but I had a much better taste experience there. Everything else at EMP - service, ambiance - was great and consistent with a top tier restaurant. I would recommend trying it at least once, but I personally do not think I will go back."

  • "I finally made it over to Eleven Madison with a friend of mine after eyeing their restaurant for years. I saved up a long time to come, and every single penny was worth it. We cooed over the thoughtful custom made plates they served each course on, and could not get over the brilliant progression of the dishes. First they showed off with playful sophisticated dishes, then the very moment we felt "we're over our heads here" they brought out the celery root truffle jus dish, reminiscent of potatoes and gravy to create a sense of security while also going above and beyond our expectations. We really cannot say thank you enough to the Eleven Madison staff for reminding us what food can be, and giving us the experience of a lifetime. Bravo!"

  • "Took clients for a business lunch. Six in all. Exquisite decor for all occasions. Large windows facing Madison Avenue. Expert, perfect service. One innovative dish after another, yet never precious or overdone. Exquisite food presented in ways that delight. Strong consensus at our table that this is NY's best dining experience. Several of us expressed a desire to return with our spouses."

  • "After two unsuccessful attempts to book a table I finally went to Eleven Madison Park. The prospect of being there was already high, as we talked to a Swiss friend of Mr. Humm a week before. The whole experience was very pleasant, the staff demonstrates passion for their job and this makes all the difference. The wine list is impressive by any standards and has some gems on it. Food is impecable, of course, and one can talk for hours about each course without doing justice to them. Mr. Humm deserves his place on the 'best restaurants' list."

  • "Dinner at Eleven Madison Park has forever changed my perception of what a meal can be; a transcendent blend of theatrics, culinary perfection, and overwhelming royal service. It is the highest form of entertainment. It's hard to imagine many more entertaining ways to spend five hours on a Tuesday evening. For weeks after this dinner, I would daydream about a different one of the myriad courses all day long, trying to come up with some way to revisit those flavors or surprises. The best solution I have come up with is to keep eating out and to keep chasing that dragon in search of a better meal somewhere else. It may be a while. I will forever remember dinner here like some love affair from a past life. My life may be changed forever."

  • "A wonderful culinary experience...13-course, prix-fixed and every course, presentation, and service staff member was top drawer. The day's idea of the guest selecting among four themes for your lunch (apple, maple, fennel, and cranberry) kept our repeat visit fresh and exciting. This is a very special and extraordinary place which pays attention to every detail (you were told the local source of nearly everything..including the salt) while keeping the atmosphere friendly and approachable.."

  • "We added the wine pairing. While the selections were excellent we really had way too much to drink with the pairing and the accompanying beverages with several of the courses. We would have probably been better off just ordering a bottle or two of wine considering the offerings that came automatically with the tasting menu. That being said we had an exceptional experience and really enjoyed the dinner."

  • "I took my husband to dinner here for his birthday. He absolutely loved it and feels 11 Madison Park was one of the best dining experiences he has ever had! From the Maître D to the bartender to the Sommelier to the wait staff everyone was top notch. Each course was exciting and fun and I loved all the stories about the history of the dish and where things came from. This was such a beautiful fun evening I can't think of anything that could have made it better!"

  • "Nearly flawless dining experience. Inventive cuisine/recipes, very professional and efficient staff. One negative, the staff seems to be on a stop watch...always fast paced and rushed."

  • "I am a little jaded as I have eaten in about 25 three star Michelin restaurants around the world Yes, food was great, but the reason this is special is that they make it an over the top event Every dish served in an individual presentation You can only get the 14 course tasting, nothing else is served You must go with people who want this large meal There were 4 of us and out bill was $2700 However it was a great a memorable evening and the tour through the kitchen they give is great"

  • "Too many courses, impossible to eat it all. It would be better to make fewer well done and tasty ones that so many. One of them was bread and butter?! In the middle I was bored already...it takes too long and many explanations...I thought that in some other places the food speaks for it self and does not need all that show... Expensive and I would not say that it was memorable for the food."
    Dined on 3/13/2014
  • "Probably the most fun one can have sitting at dinner. The first course is only topped by the next and on and on. It never ceases to amaze that they can adapt to one diners desires and not miss a beat. Everyone feels as though their experience was as special as everyone elses."

  • "I had a dining experience at Eleven Madison Park on my Birthday. I enjoyed the prefix menu. I had about 10 mini dishes and 4 desserts. Everything was incredible delicious. The atmosphere was great, very quiet, romantic. The service was really good too. The staff is very attentive. I recommend it for special occasion and for gurmans of course"

  • "After all the rave reviews I was waiting to come to this restaurant for weeks!! However, I was extremely disappointed. We found the staff to be putting on airs. Smiles and behavior of staff seemed mechanical and rehearsed. As for the courses while innovative it was a bit too much so! A course of celery and celery root. Really?? The concept is fabulous however--Making the dinner into a long production and celebrating the food. if only the food was better. I actually couldn't wait till dinner was over! And that for 225$ per person (before drinks, wine, tax or tip!) what a waste!!!"

  • "I spent my Mardi Gras '14 at Eleven Madison! What a wonderful choice. It was a surprise tasting for the restaurant that evening of 18 courses. It was exactly what you would need to celebrate to excess! Each course was exquisite from the savory recreation of the black and white cookie with cheddar to the freshest seafood, sea urchin included, to foie gras (serve 2 ways seared or fermented?! yum) to the truffles (amazing). The pork was very good with the morcilla, cabbage and cocoa beans. I started to see stars swimming in front of my eyes from all the bursts of flavors and textures at about course 14. This took stamina to complete! Then it started to get super cute: the pretzel, cheese, ale course was presented in a little picnic basket, fun"
