Diner Reviews
  • "enjoyed the creative and adventurous tasting menu. unlike any other that i have experienced. the dishes were perfectly executed."

  • "Eleven madison park is a delightful event of the finest food you could put in your mouth. Outstanding all around. Freshest ingredients. Creativity galore. I have only eaten in one restaurant in my life that even comes close. The inn at little Washington in virginia. Now that's saying something as chef oconnel is one of the best in the world. Eleven Madison park deserves all the accolades. It is a true gem."

  • "It was amazing how the chef was able to create a tasting menu with a custumization touch. Besides tht every plate had a history and is Delicious!"

  • "Eleven Madison is a rare experience. The tasting menu contains some great dishes that are steeped in New York history. The small courses far outweigh the main courses in taste and interest. The staff and kitchen are spectacular. The environment is stunning. The cost is staggering. This is a restaurant for very special moments. I wish the restaurant would return to former menus offering some choices for diners. The fixed menu is choreographed beautifully but diners feel a bit besieged by little choice and too much food."

  • "Truly amazing experience, and I would highly recommend for a special occasion."

  • "Lucky to have dined at top restaurants around the world, and nothing has come close to 11mp's combination of excellent service, top-notch food, and fun-loving creativity. Must go."

  • "It was a great lunch. Every dish was specially and very creativ. Only the cheese dish was really boring (the cheese himself)"

  • "Great meal, and certainly a fun evening. Unfortunately did not have the wow factor we were expecting. We would go back to Alinea in a flash, but don't feel compelled to rush back to EMP. Lovely looking room, but all four members of our party (male and female) were quite uncomfortable with the chilled/constantly drafty temperature of the room. staff offered the women wraps to help warm up, and it helped a bit. Sadly not enough. Unfortunate to feel uncomfortable while eating at such a lovely (3 Michelin star) restaurant. Have never experienced such a thing in a Michelin rated restaurant until now."

  • "Extract from draft for my BLK Food Blog. What we didn't expect was the ease they put us at. Three or four very relevant and clear, but uncommon questions, and a few explanations were absolutely so juxtaposed to the stuff you get at many fine diners that we knew we were up for something not just special but magnificent. And then came the food. My main measurement of great restaurants is not having any "misses" in a degustation - tick. Next comes new flavours and some surprises - tick, tick, tick. After that comes the fun, theatre, company, and a bill that is either commensurate or close to what you just experienced - all ticks."

  • "The creativity is phenomenal e.g. baked potetoes sorbet with Beluga caviar - and the tast is perfect. Well done!"

  • "its a wonderful tasting menu, all very nice. its a fixed price 200USD And you can't choose any of the plates so go prepared for that. Once its a fixed list you must go with time (about 3h). I dont recommend choosing wine because the menu brings some beverages with it. Maximum a glass or a cocktail to start."

  • "While the food tasted good and was prepared well, the gimmicky nature of presenting each dish as a history lesson of New York overshadowed the chef's personality. Who is Daniel Humm? Well, he appreciates New York, it's producers, products, history and flavors. But who is he as a chef? I am not sure I found out at my 3.5 hour lunch. None of the dishes, and there were many, stuck out as being special in my mind. What made them uniquely Humm? I won't think back on the food with fond remembrance and think 'oh yes, that was truly great,' because nothing was. Everything was very good, I assure you, but for the time and money you can have a greater, more memorable food experience elsewhere."

  • "It had been 2 years since we last ate here. We had lunch and we were not disappointed. The food, the front of house and wine list all excellent. If your looking for a restaurant to deliver the ultimate dining experience this is it."

  • "Have enjoyed 3 star dining in NYC and Europe. By far, this is tops in US! Wonderful service, interesting cuisine and fun presentation!"

  • "We had high expectations for our late night dinner appointment for 4 and we were not disappointed! Excellent service! Great food and choice pairings of wine! We had a good table with a vantage view of the restaurant. Despite its high ceiling, the ambience was cozy and warm and not intimidating. As there was no menu shown to us we were constantly kept in suspense! We were only told that the main course was either duck or lamb. Otherwise you had a choice of either a savouries(celery, coffee) or sweet(cherry, strawberry) touch to your meal. The tasting menu was a 3-hour 15 course event. The Waldorf salad was refreshing and the lobster was amazing. Everyone loved the lamb."

  • "this place is just amazing! turing 3 hours they take you on a journey to discover flavours with all your senses. they try not just to make good food, the way they present it, how they prepare it and how it relates to NY or to the historie, they tell you a story which makes lunch there to an adventure. the service was super firendly and we could also talk to the chef. the restaurant is a super high and wide room with giant glasswindows so it was surprising how quiet it is. it was the best place i could imagine to celebrate my boyfriends birthday! EMP we will come again!!!"

  • "We had a short visit to NYC from Sydney Australia. A couple of foodie friends had suggested we make a reservation at Eleven Madison. We had great expectations and were not disappointed. It's a unique experience. Food was delicious and presentation was interesting. Service was sublime. "

  • "The food and the experience was fantastic. Truly, one of the best dining experiences in the U.S. While I understand and appreciate the waiter not responding to questions that would spoil the coming surprise, it was annoying that he would not answer questions about what we had eaten."

  • "A fantastic memorable night - we were travelling from Australia - and had a group of 8 -- maximum at a table in 6. We were delighted to find that they were able to accommodate us as 2 tables of 4 right next to each other. (I was able to make the request via email) which we were told probably wasn't going to happen, so it was a bonus that this was able to be arranged! Thank you!! The service was AMAZING - entertaining -- the food divine!! It was a highlight of our trip to New York! Everyone had a great time. (The breakfast treat at the end of the night and personalised menus - special bonus!) "

  • "For Memorial Day, a friend and I went to celebrate at the World's 4th best restaurant, according to San Pellagrino, and a 3-Michelin Star hotspot. See http://www.theworlds50best.com/ For $225 not including tax or tip, we were treated with a 15-course lunch. The meal was prepared beautifully. Service as impeccable. The food was intriguing and discussion worthy. However, there were only a few truly standout dishes in terms of taste. While everything was pleasant to eat, there were only about 2-3 that were phenomenal. Going to this type of restaurant though was worth the experience, at least, once for us to see what the fuss was all about. Make your own judgment if you can afford it."

  • "Such an unbelievable experience at EMP. The Cuisine, Service, and Ambiance totally overwhelmed my great expectations for this landmark establishment. One can see why this is rated the best restaurant in America is it was hands down the best lunch I've ever had. Corwin the sommelier did a fantastic job and it was great to meet Dustin Wilson and he was super gracious and welcoming. The wine pairing for the tasting was a unique and fantastic experience. The pastrami course blew me away and the attention to detail is unsurpassed. Thank you EMP!! I will most definitely be back!"

  • "After rising to 4th place on the Pelligrini List we came with high expectations. They were fulfilled! From the warm welcome given to us by Marta, who really had done her homework and seemed to know us personally, to the service throughout the lunch, the wines and other beverages in our wine pairing and the fantastic food, everything was perfect. It is difficult to compare other restaurants at this level, but I would say, this must be very close to the sky!"

  • "Some of the courses were excellent, but others were average to poor (parsley puree, baked alaska). In the context of the price, wonderful presentation, large staff, superb kitchen facilities, and spacious seating, I thought more of the food should be excellent. Also, there is something offsetting about being served pop soda and a picnic basket amid such a formal setting. The amount of waste (i.e. differential between the sliver of duck breast served and the whole duck as presented) was disturbing. "

  • "My husband and I took my parents here for a special lunch during a recent holiday in New York. The attention to detail is amazing. It was so good that my very practical and 'common sense' Dad, who is 77 later this year, didn't blink at the $1250 bill, and loved every one of the many small courses. It took about 3.5 hours from start to finish, and I found the amount of food to be just right (I'm small, so I let my husband finish some of the courses). My mother suffers from anaphylaxis to shellfish, and this was taken very seriously by the staff which we all appreciated. Highly recommended for a one-off special meal - make sure you share it with some special people in your life. "

  • "Great service that I've never experienced. While knowing it was my graduation celebrating dinner, they kept congratulating me even till the departure of the restaurant. Waiter/waitress will pull the seat and move the table in time when you are leaving for restroom. Great wine pairing. Foods are outstanding!"

  • "I booked Eleven Madison Park as a special 30th birthday treat for my husband, in fact, our entire holiday in the US has been about food (My hubby is a chef). Having previously dined in UK 1 & 2 star Michelin restaurants we knew to expect a high level of service, experience & amazing food, but can quite honestly say we were totally blown away by everything! Most notably, we enjoyed the story/relevance to every course which proved how well thought out everything was. We would certainly consider dining here again if we found ourselves back in New York!"

  • "not every michelin star restaurant lives to expectations, but when it happens is amazing, the food was perfect in textures, plating and techniques with humor; a myriad of delicate flavours keeping it light for a meal of its kind. The celeriac soup touch everything I want in food, I could have it everyday, same goes for the mushroom custard, the bread and the celtuce. the service, impeccable location also great overall an amazing experience "

  • "We went to celebrate my partner's 40th and had a lovely time. Food food was exceptional, and adventurous. They made it a fun and interesting dining experience. It was not too loud, so we could talk comfortably, but it was also not too formal, in the sense that it had a lively vibe. As everyone else has said in their reviews, its an unbelievable experience, if you can handle the steep prices. Worth it for a special occasion. "

  • "I went for lunch with my girlfriend, we both from Brazil. I asked her to marry me there. It was a great experience. All the plates with some extraordinary presentation and a great mix of flavors. At the end of the lunch the restaurant proposed a toast for us and gave for us the bowl of the toast, to remember of then. It was a really gentle thing. Thank you for the especial moment!"

  • "I must say this place is truly worthy of all the accolades it deserves. From the service, to the food and the table side theatrics and did I mention the taste of the food? All of which came together to provide us a unique and ultimate honeymoon experience of the Americas. Despite all the drawbacks you might have heard or seen, the surprise of each dish arriving and the meaning behind each was never tampered with. My wife and I had the most memorable experience here at Eleven and we have been to Michelin star restaurants around the world and this one sits right at the top so far. Truly, truly an emperor's way to dine."
