Diner Reviews
  • "we called three weeks prior to date to request window table. called the day before and the day of for the window table. when we got there they did not have a window table reserved for us so we had to wait until they could accommodate us. my family called to make arrangements for a birthday cake which was supposed to be a surprise. they called my phone to verify the cake. so much for the surprise. it was not a relaxing meal as the wait staff was tense since they probably had us branded for expecting them to honor our requests. I guess I was expecting more from a high end restaurant. we probably wont go back."

  • "I took my girlfriend here to propose. Told the restaurant ahead of time so they could have a red rose waiting at the table when we arrived. They seated us in a very private booth with a great view. The service was excellent along with the food. The whole staff was very attentive and congratulated us when dinner was over and brought us a nice dessert. Went next door to the bar and had an after dinner drink out on the patio alone with my fiancé. The whole night was very romantic and special. We are both from out of town and they made the whole night very special."

  • "I am never disappointed dining at elements. I loved that our fantastic waiter gave thoughtful recommendations that were delicious and was patient as we had numerous courses for our anniversary dinner."

  • "There is so much I like about this place. Only disappointment was with their specialty drinks."

  • "My wife and I went to dinner for our anniversary. It was one of our best dining experience ever! The food and service was impeccable. The setting can't be beat. We will be back."

  • "This was our first time here. View is amazing. Saw the sunset and then great night views. Food was everything we had hoped for. Our waiter, Anthony, was great. Very knowledgeable, personable, and just the right amount of attention. Would go back again."

  • "My wife and I had a great time at elements at Sanctuary. The food is creative, perfectly executed and exciting. We spent 4 nights in Scottsdale and ate at four excellent restaurants, but elements was easily the star of the week. The 50% sale on bottles of wine was much appreciated."

  • "Took my long term partner here for her birthday. The meal was wonderful and delicious, service was immaculate, and the view was incredible. Will go here again as they even arranged a cake over the open table booking...perfect."

  • "I've been to Elements a few times for very special occasions... It's absolutely a treat! Every meal I've had there has been amazing... my friends have always raved about theirs, as well. You cannot beat the view... perfect for treating your out of town guests that you want to spoil!"

  • "It had been a couple years since I had last eaten at Elements and after one bite I could have slapped myself for waiting so long to return. Chef MacMillan still presents top notch food at reasonable prices. The setting can't be beat. Ask for a table that faces Camelback mountain. Servers are attentive but not hovering. Menu has something for everyone. The Fiery Calamari appetizer is flash fried so you taste the calamari not the coating. They add a twist to the Iceberg wedge by adding pickled onion and peanuts and replacing bacon with pancetta. Scallops were nice and light. Flavors in the pork chop were sweet and spicy. I could have done with a few less bitter orange rind. Portions are generous so you can enjoy leftovers. Don't skip dessert"

  • "Great as always. One issue, our waitress spoke very broken english as she was Chinese which made it hard to understand her when listening to the specials and ordering."

  • " This experience was extraordinary. The food is outstanding but it was really the people and service that made it special. The hostess immediately made us feel welcome. She said she could seat us immediately or if we didn't mind waiting a few minutes a booth would be available which she thought we would really enjoy. We went to the bar where Robert the bartender immediately introduced himself. Within minutes the hostess came to take us to our table. It was special and this being our 52nd wedding anniversary it could not have been nicer. We than met Katie who we assumed was a management person; turns out she was the wait person. She was professional and could not have been nicer or more efficient. Kudos to the chef and all the staff!"

  • "Let me first begin with saying I have lived here for 5 years and heard about Elements for that past year. I finally took the time to visit the restaurant and it was spectacular, living in the East Valley I visit the Scottsdale area about 3-4 times a month primarily Old Town Scottsdale. I invited my Sorority sister for lunch and let me say it was the best lunch I have EVER had living here in Arizona. I can't wait until my anniversary as I know my hubby will love it as much as I did. Last but not least the service was impeccable where your every need was meet before even asking. The staff was friendly and the suggestion for lunch, desert and wine was well received by me and her knowledge was vast on the meal, desert selection."

  • "Wonderful experience for our wedding anniversary! Great food, wine and service from the friendly staff."

  • "This was our fourth visit and we still love it! The food is outstanding and the ambience is very special. We take our out of town guests every time! The prices are a little high but the quality is amazing and I would recommend The Elements to anyone looking for a special night out!"

  • "We decided to dine at Elements at the last minute and in hindsight, don't know why we even considered going anywhere else. The views were exquisite, our server Sean made multiple suggestions, while carefully qualifying them as "opinions". He was spot on concerning everything! Iron chef winner Beau had just introduced his new spring menu and wow did he hit it out of the park again. The mushroom torte and the himachi , which Sean described as his favorites, were out of this world. If you go for dinner make sure to coordinate your timing with the sunset. You will not be disappointed."

  • "All fantastic for us. Romantic, tasty, great service. Sunset vista and then evening lights sparkling below and stars above. Beautiful spot on hill with praying monk mountain in sight."

  • "The food was great, the view was excellent and if I lived closer I would definitely have dinner parties here day or night! Very clean restaurant!"

  • "The entree was good, the sea bass and duck dish was great. A bit overpriced but tasty. Skip the octopus appetizer; texture was chewy and the sauce just didn't do anything. The salad was great but nothing special. Great view but nothing special. Service was a bit slow but the waiter was attentive, it's more of the kitchen and not the wait staff. I would go for regular dinner but not for a special occassion. "

  • "The evening was fantastic! The food was delicious (especially the Lobster Mac-N-Cheese). The service personnel were very nice. My only disappointment, it took too long between courses. Also, they had an errant charge on our bill, but they quickly removed it once we pointed it out. I would recommend elements for one's special occasions."

  • "This was our second time here and it was Great. Our server did a Great job, really new the menu and had Great suggestions. "

  • "My wife and I chose Elements based on previous internet reviews and from valet arrival to departure it certainly lived up to those high standards. The panoramic views across the valley to the mountains were impressive. Our server was very accommodating to my wife's dietary needs and the food was first class. I would recommend this restaurant for a romantic occasion or for anyone looking for a "Wow" factor."

  • "This is not a place to go often unless you won big on the Lotto but for birthdays or anniversaries it is perfect. The one issue here is if they have a convention staying at the hotel and vendors are taking people out to dinner. The groups tend to be larger, louder and the booze tends to flow because some company is paying for it all. Then a quiet little special event turns into a circus event dominated by drunk people each trying to out-shout the other folks at their table. Then the special evening is not very special but the cost is still the same."

  • "We love this restaurant but it was a little off when we were there. It took a long time to get our drinks. That said, the Grapefruit Basil Martini was delicious! Soft shell crab appetizer was excellent. The sea bass was also good but not $48 good. The foie gras panna cotta was very good. Desserts were weak. The chocolate peanut butter had little taste and the cocoanut creme brûlée didn't have a silky texture. My husband had nearly finished his steak before his wine arrived (it was comped). It s usually a special night at Elements...this was a bit less than we expected. Elements still has one of the most innovative menus in town, but the service could be better."

  • "Jade Bar and the elements restaurant at Sanctuary never fail to impress!"

  • "Got seated at a table with glaring sun hitting half of the table. There were no blinds they could lower. Both the server and someone else from the restaurant commented on the brightness of the glare. I suggested the table might be positioned differently. Of course the obvious solution would be to not seat people at that table til the sun went down. Terribly distracting making the meal less than memorable. "

  • "What a perfect evening...the staff from hostess to server was well prepared for our special occasion, we were seated at our favorite booth and the food was impeccable. This will always be a Scottsdale favorite. "

  • "Food is excellent. Service is always terrific. Staff is friendly and helpful. Desserts are very small but entrees are generous. Only drawback is limited menu."
    Dined on 5/18/2014
  • "The escargot wellington was probably the best dish I've ever had! The bacon-wrapped steaks were tender but both were overcooked."
    Dined on 5/17/2014
  • "There's a reason why we continue to come back to Elements. Service is impeccable, staff was completely accommodating to special food requests, atmosphere is romantic, and views are breathtaking. Love it there!"

  • "Haven't been to the sanctuary resorts in several years. Food was delicious, service was delayed my guess due to a wedding party. Overall a great experience."

  • "I've been back to Elements every time friends come into town. It's got the best food, a wonderful view, excellent service each and every time I went."

  • "Last Mothers day this place was really good. The food was great with a broad selection, the service was great, and the view is always amazing. This year I decided to take my mom, wife, and daughter. The price was the same as last year($75.00 per person) but the food was not the same. No more crab, no other more upscale foods on the buffet portion, and the entree list was not that appetizing. I ordered the fillet Benedict and they burned the english muffin to a crisp so I reordered, the next time it came out with a poached egg that was hardly cooked. My daughter ordered cheese eggs and they forgot the cheese! My mom never complains about anything and it was hard for her to stomach her meal too. I gave up at that point. Dennys is better!! "
