  • The wait staff was wonderful

The wait staff was wonderful - Adin, in particular, was fantastic. We had an amazing meal that began and ended with oysters (east and west coast, respectively). We also had the salsiccia flatbread (could eat this every day for the rest of my life), and the whole roasted snapper, which was incredibly tasty (albeit work with the bones), served with the best baby squash I've ever had. If you're a cocktail person, you will love their list of offerings, and I highly recommend the wildflower. Apparently they just changed management and will go by a different name in a few weeks - I can't wait to go see what they have up their sleeve next!

I like this place, but it can be inconsistent. The hanger steak was cooked as ordered (medium rare), but now I understand why it took so long to arrive at my table: it sat around (somewhere) and it was cold to the touch. At first I thought it was a summer thing: cool, hanger steak. When I told the wait-person, she said it shouldn't be cold. Some guy (a manager?) came over and offered to prepare another one, but I passed - I was starving and I had another appointment. The roasted beets were under seasoned, but I did like the pieces of citrus fruits mixed with the beets. The almond cake was outstanding! That was excellent. Service was OK. I saw her less often as it become more crowded. I like the interiors and layout of space.

While the food here was really good, we came on a Friday and the entire inside of the restaurant was empty (it was about 7:30-8). We ended up eating outside on the little sidewalk area because that's where all the people were and it was nice out. Mussels were a standout for sure, I can't quite remember what else we ate. I'm definitely a fan of the sharing small plates but it was just a little strange that the inside was so empty!

"Small" plates provide enough for sharing with a table of four. Some were hit or miss. For instance, the lamb meatballs and cold aspargus was a hit while the hanger steak portion size seemed small and it was tuff.

There were quite a few interesting and unique-sounding dishes on the menu, most of which succeeded, but a few of which fell flat. The pear & fig flatbread and the burger were phenomenal; the fettuccine that accompanied the trout tasted like veggie cream cheese and the trout itself was tasteless. The scallops, kumquat salad and flat iron steak combined interesting flavors that made the dishes complex enough to not be boring, but not stellar enough to be unforgettable. Save room for dessert! The 'deconstructed' malted milk ball and the almond cake were scrumptious. Cocktails were meh. Our server was accessible, knowledgeable and friendly. The host was a bit of a snob when our group size changed, even though the restaurant was relatively empty

This restaurant is wonderful! It is the restaurant that serves the Hotel Felix, but it is so NOT a typical hotel restaurant! The chef is genious in his imaginative preparation and presentation of this delicious food. Not to be missed: Fig Flatbread, Amish Chicken, Scallops and the Roasted Beets. Nothing about this food is ordinary...fabulous comingling of creative ingredients -- my mouth is watering while just thinking about it again! We'll be back often.

I was a huge fan of this restaurant until my last visit, on my first Mother's Day. The service was the worst service I've experienced anywhere. I called three times to ensure accessible seating and two high chairs. They could only give us one high chair and the table was difficult for the person in a wheel chair to negotiate. We were seated over 30 minutes before menus or coffee was provided (and we had to ask for them!!!). A server set a full coffee cup on the table ledge next to an 18 month old child. That's just a few of many service issues. I will not be going back there (and I've had birthday celebrations there with large groups multiple years in a row). The service is not on par with the delicious food.

Everything was amazing. Came with a group of 7 and they sat us in a private room, which was very nice. We ordered most of the small plates which was all delicious. The octopus and scallops were the best part of the meal. We did try the trout with homemade fetuccini and the pasta was really salty; however the fish was cooked just right. One person did order the hangar steak and he was raving about it. If you want to try a flatbread I would recommend the fig, pear, and goat cheese flatbread. Stacie was our waitress and she could tell you anything about the entrees to the exact ingredient. She was also very knowledgable about the wines, which was very impressive.

Food was phenomenal- no complaints there. The service was spotty though. In the middle of explaining our first course to us, our waiter walked away mid-sentence to put silverware on another table. Then someone else came and put a clean plate in front of us, which our waiter promptly took away. I am hoping this was an off night for Elate, because I would definitely love to go back.

Very nice ambience, music was a little loud. Quite a diverse selection of food on the menu. The pretzel rolls come with an amazing butter topped with mustard seeds. The oysters can be from east or west coast, and were definitely fresh. The flatbreads are all good. I had the Amish chicken which had a lot of meat. Very cool presentation. Did not get dessert. My initial cocktail was not good Pimm's Cup (gin and ginger beer) but the second one was a featured cocktail with ginger beer and Rum like a Dark and Stormy and was incredible. Overall a great experience.

We ordered something light. My friend enjoyed the trout and I thought the mussels were divine. We would have ordered something more filling but we were in a hurry. Menu selection was not very extensive but I suppose it is enough for a specialty place. I know that it's supposed to be an "organic" place but I reaaaaaally wish that they had "real" coffee. Service was good and we were the first ones there on a weekday so not a really big crowd. Servers attentive enough without being overwhelming. On a non-food note, I did like the gray booth where I sat.

Food is AMAZING - everything is delicious including the stunning plating, garnishes and attention to detail. The oysters are fresh and come with a trio of great sauces, the smoked ham and egg flatbread is rich but the bread itself is a little thick and doughy, the grilled octopus is stunningly simple but great and the grilled trout tastes like it was caught and prepared within the last hour. Great french-inspired menu with contemporary nuances that elevate the meal. The waitstaff seems understaffed so be prepared for lulls in service.

Food was good in concept but bad in execution. The service was terrible. There was hardly anyone in the restaurant and to get anything at all, coffee, orange juice, the check, etc, I had to flag down a bus boy or the hostess to find the waiter who only came to take the order, deliver the food, then deliver the check.
