"Arvena, our waitress, was very attentive. GREAT bottomless mimosas. The brunch offerings were delicious, but portion size is small. Tight seating, but the decore is modern and hip. I would definitely take out-of-town guests here!"

"We elected to try something a little higher end for St. Patrick's Day where we could also still catch the NCAA tournament out of the corner of our eye. We found the combination of food and ambiance to be spot on for a really enjoyable evening. We indulged ourselves with a quasi-tapas style "tasting" and then closed the place down sampling their very nice by-the-glass wine selection and recommendations from a charming and delightfully knowledgeable waitress, who, other than her recommendation of the "grappa-pinot" (which was a nasty concoction that was certainly more grappa than pinot!) was spot on! We had fun, we enjoyed the food and our only disappointment was that they seemed to be out of every draft beer that we wanted to try."

"The first time I went to elate was for brunch. I had the braised pork & egg tostada it was out of this world! So many layers of flavor, that coexisted so well! I ordered it again and it was not as good, even my husband agreed. I love the ambiance, but not sure if I'll return since the tostada is what I came back for :("

"We enjoyed our visit to Elate, however, we came for the Chef's Week menu which was pre-published and specifically mentioned a Samoa Pot de Creme which ended up being Whopper (malt balls) when we arrived. Our party was excited about the Samoa but not so much the Whopper so we ended up not doing the Chef's Week menu at all, however, the regular menu was available as well, which was appreciated, especially due to this change. Interestingly, the "lunch" menu is actually a "weekday brunch" menu, which I've never seen a restaurant do and was really nice to offer a variety of breakfast and lunch options- even with some cross over items. Everyone in our group greatly enjoyed their food and would come back to eat."

"We had a very disappointing experience. First, though we called ahead saying we were running late, we had a long wait. When the hostess took us across, she had confused us as being part of some large party and tried seating us with a bunch of strangers. Then, we were told that we could only get an outside table without a further wait of another 35-40 minutes - when I said the outside was too loud for my infant, the server was dismissive and rude.We then had a very long wait to place our order and another to get the food, and with lots of attitude. They made our tea/ coffee complimentary but this really didnt amount to much. There were further issues which I cannot include here due to space issues. WILL NOT RECOMMEND"
