I had a business dinner here and it was good... I was really encouraged by the decor and ambiance. So I was expecting the food to be exceptional and it was just sort of par... for a place that is just a 30 minute train ride from Manhattan they need to take the food up a notch. It wasn't bad... just not great...

We went to this restaurant for early dinner to celebrate a special occasion. There were a couple more patrons dining besides ourselves. Service was quick and waitstaff were very knowledgeable and helpful with the quite extensive menu and helped us choose dishes that everyone at the table was very happy with. My favorite was Green Spicy Shrimp, give it a try if you are a seafood lover. They also had a varied vegetarian/vegan selection on their menu and diverse sushi menu. At the end of our meal we received a complementary desert to celebrate the special occasion, which was a nice touch from the restaurant. Try this place, you won't be disappointed!

Found this gem through OpenTable reviews and they were right! Located in a quaint little courtyard and a few steps down into a unique space. Hip interior design (lucite walls with colored lighting) adds to the ambiance. Excellent, flavorful, fresh food (NOT too salty like most Chinese food). Went there on a Saturday night with my significant other and was the perfect atmosphere for a date night. Service was very good. Prices were not unreasonable for the quality of food. I will be back.

We just love going to Elaine's the food is always on point and the wait staff always so attentive. This time we had the passion roll which was super delicious and spicy. The velvet chicken was phenomenal, the white sauce is just so tasty. The chocolate by death its a chocolate addicts delight. The green tea fried ice cream was heavenly, the best!

Was a big fan of Wild Ginger but have been consistently disappointed in recent months. Decided to try Elaine's and was pleasantly surprised with the food, service, and ambiance. We shared two entres one a beef dish an the other a veggi. Both were well prepared and of large sized portions. The rest of the menu looks interesting and we will be back to sample additional dishes. In all, a good find in Asian food for GN.

Have been here multiple times and it's always been a great experience.. The food has lots of flavor, the service could be a little better (everytime I've been there's only one server covering the whole floor so it's hard for her to remember everything) and the prices are reasonable. Definite recommend!

I've eaten here several times over the past few years and each time I am morre disappointed in it. It's a nice date spot if you sit in the front by the bar but the food is not what I would hope for. I used to live in Jersey & found out they are the same owners as one of my favorite restaurants, "Baumgards", but there food is no were even close. Probably won't be going back. It's a shame.

I went to Elaine's with my matron of honor for a quiet dinner the night before my wedding. I was looking for an upscale restaurant that wasn't kid friendly. We got exactly what we were looking for. I had the half crispy duck with pancakes and plum sauce. I was in heaven! My MoH had the General Tso's Chicken, and absolutely loved it. We started dinner with cold sesame noodles and fried dumplings. I had two Bubble Heads, and highly recommend them if you like a lemony drink. Just beware of the Voss water bottles on the table. It was nice to have, but I didn't realize they were $7.50 each! We had two bottles. But it was a special occasion, so I didn't freak out! Great for a girls night out or a romantic date.

Just took my mother, sister, and daughters here for a late Saturday ladies lunch. We enjoyed the rich atmosphere, , a lovely modern decor with Asian accents. Our waiter surprised us with dim sum appetizers on the house, followed by our dishes- sushi Bento box, chicken pad Thai, shrimp with walnuts, and steamed veggies with shrimp. Everything was cooked to perfection and served with a smile. Our waiter even jumped into the picture with my 85 yr old Mom as they served dessert with festive candles & song! A great afternoon!

The restaurant has an ambitious menu and the food is good. If going with fellow Americans, they will be satisfied. However none of our dishes really stood out. The Peking Duck is basically just whole duck, well prepared, sliced at the table. I expected the 3 course Peking Duck (first course skin, then meat / pancakes, then broth) given the price. In spite of this, the duck was still very tasty. The satay is just weird - tasted strongly of butter. Mongolian beef was deemed a success by two of our four-person party.

Tied for my favorite Asian food in Nassau Country. this one is quiet, unassuming. It is nicely decorated and warm, though not fancy. Good chinese food, good sushi, good service (especially Alex). Reasonably priced. They also have a large party room with good A/V facilities, tucked away that you would never know it's there.

Quiet and hidden away in a convenient location, they are eager to please, especially Alex the waiter. We love this place, but the experience is completely different when you order to go. In house dining is lovely, good service, good food. Take out has a lower grade of fish (same price) some parts of the order are left out or wrong - and when you ask to take home that last few pieces of omakase they are mushed into a noodle box, no wasabi or soy sauce. .???

We've been here several times before and had delicious meals. But we've always been there pretty late on weeknights. Last night we went at around 8:00 on Sunday night. By the time the hostess appeared, and then finally seated us, it was at least 20 minutes. The temperature around the table was too cold, and we were right near the kitchen and it was nuts - waiters running back and forth in front of us, doors slamming open and closed. We finally changed to a different table. I ordered a glass of sangria, which took over 15 minutes to come. We ended up having a pretty good meal, but it was far too aggravating. We'll stay away on the weekends from now on.

The most aggravating meal we've ever had. They made us wait for half an hour for our reservation (but sat people who came in after we did who claimed to have a reservation at the same time. Took forever just to get a glass of water and a side order of rice. Order came all wrong. To top it all off, when the manager came to ask how we were doing, she walked away before we started speaking. Rude. We used to eat here frequently. Have even had functions here. We're never eating at Elaine's again.

This is a good restaurant. The service was excellent but the food although good was not great. The hot and sour soup was not spicy enough and was not hot (heated) enough but it tasted good. Spicy shrimp were great. Beef with oyster sauce was inconsistent - some pieces of beef were tender and some were barely chewable. Soup dumplings were good but you only get four. Make it six and charge more. Overall, I would definitely try Elaine's again to sample more dishes.
