Diner Reviews
  • "Nice ambiance - almost cozy in a sense. The food was delightful and the service was amazing. They had a variety of foods on the menu that included foods that were not only of Asian cuisine. We were extremely impressed with the food..."

  • "Just took my mother, sister, and daughters here for a late Saturday ladies lunch. We enjoyed the rich atmosphere, , a lovely modern decor with Asian accents. Our waiter surprised us with dim sum appetizers on the house, followed by our dishes- sushi Bento box, chicken pad Thai, shrimp with walnuts, and steamed veggies with shrimp. Everything was cooked to perfection and served with a smile. Our waiter even jumped into the picture with my 85 yr old Mom as they served dessert with festive candles & song! A great afternoon!"

  • "I've eaten here several times over the past few years and each time I am morre disappointed in it. It's a nice date spot if you sit in the front by the bar but the food is not what I would hope for. I used to live in Jersey & found out they are the same owners as one of my favorite restaurants, "Baumgards", but there food is no were even close. Probably won't be going back. It's a shame."

  • "I went to Elaine's with my matron of honor for a quiet dinner the night before my wedding. I was looking for an upscale restaurant that wasn't kid friendly. We got exactly what we were looking for. I had the half crispy duck with pancakes and plum sauce. I was in heaven! My MoH had the General Tso's Chicken, and absolutely loved it. We started dinner with cold sesame noodles and fried dumplings. I had two Bubble Heads, and highly recommend them if you like a lemony drink. Just beware of the Voss water bottles on the table. It was nice to have, but I didn't realize they were $7.50 each! We had two bottles. But it was a special occasion, so I didn't freak out! Great for a girls night out or a romantic date."

  • "The restaurant has an ambitious menu and the food is good. If going with fellow Americans, they will be satisfied. However none of our dishes really stood out. The Peking Duck is basically just whole duck, well prepared, sliced at the table. I expected the 3 course Peking Duck (first course skin, then meat / pancakes, then broth) given the price. In spite of this, the duck was still very tasty. The satay is just weird - tasted strongly of butter. Mongolian beef was deemed a success by two of our four-person party."

  • "Elaine's bistro used to be the best kept secret on Long Island unfortunately it's no longer a secret that this place is awesome! There's never a problem getting a reservation and the food is awesome at a reasonable price."

  • "Overall this is a good restaurant. The food is almost very good, but just misses. We went with a group of 8 and didn't have any trouble hearing one another. We'll be back."

  • "Tied for my favorite Asian food in Nassau Country. this one is quiet, unassuming. It is nicely decorated and warm, though not fancy. Good chinese food, good sushi, good service (especially Alex). Reasonably priced. They also have a large party room with good A/V facilities, tucked away that you would never know it's there."

  • "We have been to Elaine's before (more than once) and we are always happy with everything about it and this time was no exception."

  • "We love this place, but the experience is completely different when you order to go. In house dining is lovely, good service, good food. Take out has a lower grade of fish (same price) some parts of the order are left out or wrong - and when you ask to take home that last few pieces of omakase they are mushed into a noodle box, no wasabi or soy sauce. .???"

  • "If you are looking for a private lunch with a larger exclusive group that drinks, you will have a good ol time in this pleasant atmosphere. The food is not special though."

  • "Quiet and hidden away in a convenient location, they are eager to please, especially Alex the waiter. Sushi and seaweed salads work great, prices for quality are superior, the decor is painstakingly laid out for a comfortable upscale feel, and the hidden party room is really cool, with a dance floor and good A/V equipment."

  • "We've been here several times before and had delicious meals. But we've always been there pretty late on weeknights. Last night we went at around 8:00 on Sunday night. By the time the hostess appeared, and then finally seated us, it was at least 20 minutes. The temperature around the table was too cold, and we were right near the kitchen and it was nuts - waiters running back and forth in front of us, doors slamming open and closed. We finally changed to a different table. I ordered a glass of sangria, which took over 15 minutes to come. We ended up having a pretty good meal, but it was far too aggravating. We'll stay away on the weekends from now on."
