El Torito Grill is suppose to be the upscale version of El Torito.... this location fails at that and seems just like an El Torito. The Cadillac margaritas were not made very well and tasted like pure sweet and sour. We sent them back, the next round was better, but still super sweet. The service was lacking, it took too long to order, receive food, refills were not offered (even though they would have made the establishment more money), and the taco guy was very unfriendly (taco Tuesday). The Sherman Oaks location is far superior to this one!

We had a birthday dinner for myself there and the waiters were friendly and efficient. And they sang to me! That was a great treat. The food was great and reasonable. We enjoyed our evening. Thank you El-Torito Grill.

All chairs' cheap looking fabric was worn off. Looked miserable. The service was slow also. We loved their Margarita. Too bad they do not serve by a pitcher.

  • Amazing cuisine.. at a mexican

You don't expect four start cuisine at a Mexican restaurant in LA. But yes. The food was amazing. Think Mexican-French if you can imagine such a thing. From appetizer to dessert this was very Mexican and very haute cuisine. Unique menu, with chef specialties leading the way. We ordered from the specialties. It was familiar but with subtle upgrades in flavor and first rate presentation. If I lived closer it would be a frequent stop. Pricing high for Mex.. very low for fine dining.

Very good mango margarita. The sauce on the enchiladas is very poor tasting - would not order enchiladas again.. Only black beans, no pinto choice. The green (!!) spanish rice had no spanish flavor. Taquitos mediocre (crisp but room temperature (maybe cooked in batches, plated as needed?) and pretty flavorless). The three sauces on the table were neither spicy or tasty. The homemade tortillas (flour only) were very good. Ordered the Especial de la Casa- will not order again. Service slow, no refills on water offered. I have gotten better food and service at the regular El Toritos.

We went back to this restaurant for my son's 22nd birthday at his request. It's been 10 years since we visited the last time. We moved out of the area but this restaurant was always our kids favorite. (They loved fresh made tortillas.) It was a nostalgic experience. There were many changes and we enjoyed talking about how it was back them during our meal. Thanks to the staff who paid the close attention to our return visit on this occasion. They made the night very special from the appetizer to desserts. I got another strong request for my daughter's birthday.

Always happy with the service at this Torrance staple. Tortillas fresh out a flat burner start your meal. Margaritas are well made! Good overall menu.

Recently my friend and I dined here for the Dine LA Special. I have to say, we were both very pleased with the food they offered and the service that came with. I would highly recommend this place for lunch or dinner with fam and friends. P.S. - We especially loved their Filet Mignon Enchiladas with Grilled Shrimp and the Taquitos. For dessert, a must have is the deep fried ice-cream.

My wife and I have always loved the quality, creativity, and presentation of the food at our local El Torito Grill. However, we had let "The Grill" slip off the radar for over a year! Shame on us! We found a spectacular new menu - well, new to us! This dining experience was one of the big surprises of the past 12 months. The dishes were delicious with substantial portions. The manager was attentive without being annoying. Norma, our server, anticipated our every need and displayed genuine enjoyment as she noted our obvious delight with The El Torito Grill. I can promise you we won't wait a year to return to "Our Grill".

Very much a chain restaurant. Not the best experience. We were a group of 8 and there was a bit of a delay getting our orders and one of the children in our group didn't receive her order. Needless to say, that's a big no-no when dining with children. We asked 3 different people for a refill of tortillas and salsa. One of them finally brought us the tortillas but didn't bring the salsa. Plates and glasses were not cleared from the table until we were through with the meal and asked for boxes. The table got crowded quickly. Drinks were not refilled unless asked...basically the server was not very attentive.

  • When we arrived for our reservation
    OpenTable Diner Since 2010

When we arrived for our reservation, there were 2 ladies waiting to be seated. Someone came & took them to their seats & never came back. Finally the manager arrived, I told him we had reservations & he said, excuse me & answered the phone. A girl came up & then left & finally a server came & seated us. The manager did apologize to us. Our waiter took our order, brought our drinks & then our food. After finishing our food, we waited for someone to clear the table & check on us, but no one did. Our server finally brought our check, I paid, he then returned with our receipt, still not clearing the table. The topper was when I receive an opentable email to see why we hadn't shown for our reservation. Opentable did verify we had.

It was a last minute reservation, for a large group late in the evening. The maitre'd was very helpful as we're the waiters always making sure we had our drinks filled and available for any requests. They did not rush us to finish our meal. The food was very good, although it is a bit on the pricy side. I paid almost $100 for 4 people, so average price per plate + drink is about $25. Overall it was a great dining experience.
