My husband and I decided to go out to dinner in Collingswood. Open Table had a few options and El Sitio was one of them. We had dined there before a long while back and it was ok. This time it was really fantastic. It was truly one of best meals we have had in towne in a very long time. I talked with the owner to compliment her. Even the desserts (I had coconut flan and my husband had tres leches) were delicious. I usually don't care for tres leches because it is usually way too sweet for my taste. The tres leches, personally made by the owner of el Sitio, is truly the BEST I have ever tasted. We will return in the near future.

El Sitio has a most interesting menu! Most of the food has a South American flavor. Be prepared to try something new! I especially enjoyed the Cerviche with the Toasted Tostadas and Maize!

We celebrated my wife's 30th birthday at El Sitio this past Saturday night and came away very impressed. Having just relocated to the South Jersey area from Arizona, our expectations for finding authentic Latin flavors were greatly exceeded. The patacones and tropical ceviche were perfect appetizers, can't say a single negative thing about either of them. The octopus with olive sauce was a bit "heavier" than we were expecting but the flavors were unique and quite memorable. For dinner, we had the Seco de Chivo (lamb stew) and a filet mignon in dijon sauce. The Seco de Chivo was a perfect amalgamation of flavors, highly recommended. The filet was cooked perfectly but the dijon sauce could have been more "dijony." Overall, GREAT meal!

El Sitio has really excellent food. The selection is good. The restaurant is small and tables are a little tight. The service is only fair but the owner is on site and takes note of any issues quickly so the service is never poor but the restaurant is frenetic and servers are too. Portions are large by Spanish standards even. Indeed the tapas are larger than those I'm accustomed to in Miami which exceed those in Spain. Know that Collingswood is dry so you can't order wine but I think you're welcome to bring your own. We are returning tonight for the third time. I really enjoy good Spanish food.

This BYO offers food from Peru, Ecuador, Argentina, and other South American countries. We've never travelled to those countries, and therefore cannot vouch for authenticity, but we enjoyed plantain empanadas, Peruvian seafood mixture (very tasty blush sauce), and shrimp in a good, citrusy sauce.

Some of our party were late for the table we reserved. They were very understanding and did not make us feel rushed at all. They recommended hors d'oeuvres that the chef prepares, they were excellent, with more than enough for the table. The late party arrived, we ordered our delicious entree. Those of us who had the steaks, said they came out perfect. as were all our meals. El Sitio was a great place to get together with family and friends. We all agreed to come back soon.

Second time we have had dinner at this restaurant and the food was out of this world! Nice place, great food. Our only complaint was that our waitress seemed to disappear at times, making the service kind of slow. Could have just been an off night. All in all, I would recommend this restaurant.

$32 for 3 shrimp, 6 tiny pieces of strip steak, mixed with some peppers over 1/2 cup of French fries and a side of rice. Sorry......your excuse of it being "a classic Peruvian dish"? You can stick that where I wanted to tell you to stick your complimentary strawberry daiquiri mix that you have me as my discount for being unhappy. I'll give you the appetizer was delicious and it was $15 for way more food. This dish seemed like something a Peruvian would throw together on left over night when times were tough. Never again.

We went here to celebrate my wife's birthday. We'd only been once before, and it was great then, so we were looking forward to a great meal. El Sitio did not disappoint. The menu had changed a bit, but the quality of the food has not. Delicious cuisine, choices not found elsewhere in the area, and a subdued atmosphere make this a perfect spot for a romantic evening, a gathering of friends or family, or just a quiet meal. And the prices are reasonable. Don't skip this one.

El Sitio is my favorite local restaurant; for lunch or a romantic dinner, inside or out, the service is excellent, and the food sublime. Being celiac, my personal experience with restaurants (that even offer gf options) varies widely, and the food usually suffers in taste, texture or with very limited options. This is a place where the quality and care that goes into preparing food is palpable, and it's the freshly prepared ingredients, spices, unique combinations and recipes (along with a distinct lack of wheat flour for 'taste') that allows for the most pleasurable dining experience. Very reasonably priced, nice ambiance, BYOB and a well trained waitstaff that knows the menu.

On the way home, the three of us discussed our meals and all realized they had one thing in common - way too salty. I wish now we had said something, as this could probably have been addressed by the kitchen via preparing new entrees. I love this restaurant and have dined here five or six times, but this is my second salty experience. Otherwise, the flavors created here are amazing. El Sitio, please monitor your salt shaker, as it takes away from the enjoyment of your excellent food.

First, I wanted to point out that there was a sign outside the restaurant that said there was a prefixed menu availabe ( a three course meal for $28). We asked about it and they specifically said that this only pertains to certain days of the week and that it was a ploy for people to come in. We did not like that at all. We are willing to pay a little more money for good food, however, we both had a over the $30 plate and unfortunatley, it was not worth it. I had the Perusian fillet and it only had three tiny pieces of fried fish fillet. He had the steak, which tasted like rubber. We were very disappointed in the restuarant. We liked the area and the atmoshere and we were hoping to come back again, but we will not.

I love going to a comfortable restaurant that serves nicely-prepared ethnic food. This is one of those places. The staff is very nice and capable. My only concern is that the noise level is higher than I'd like. I wish they'd do something about this - install some sound-deadening material on the walls, maybe. Then it would be perfect.

My boyfriend and I tried this place out last Friday and it was amazing. We got the soup of the day (potato/cheese), empanadas - which were as good as the ones I've had in Buenos Aires, their Lomo entree, and a salad. Everything, including the bread with mushroom/olive oil dip, was incredible. Plus, it's a BYO. Service was attentive and friendly as well. Will definitely be back!

Peruvian food is delicious, they almost, but not quite, make it like it should be here. The place is very inviting and hostess was very helpful. The service is inexperienced at best. This place needs great service to make it stand out from all the other Collingswood eateries. They are ill-equipped to handle larger parties as food takes a long time presenting itself to the table. I have high hopes for this little slice of Peruvian fare, I will be back to try it out at a later date.

Vibrant flavors, many interesting menu options for both apps and entree. Good balance of protein choices, fish/chicken/beef. Enjoyed El Sitio appetizer sampler, fried items crispy and not at all greasy. The restaurant tends to be noisy since there are no soft surfaces to help absorb sound. The atmosphere is festive.

When the two of us walked into El Sitio I wasn't sure where to wait to be seated for the reservation, but we were only standing by the entrance no more than 30 seconds before we were greeted warmly and given the option to sit inside or out. The weather was perfect for sitting outside, and we really enjoyed it. My only complaint was that the music was a bit loud, but we were seated across from the speaker. It made some conversation difficult, but not impossible. Our waitress was very attentive and courteous. The empanadas were perfect, and we both enjoyed our main courses. We will definitely come back.

Reserved outside seating and were forced to eat in, b/c the hostess gave the only available outside seating to the couple ahead of us that did not reserve outside seating. I know this, because she asked them right in front of us and then offered them outside seating. The food is good, but prepare to wait a minimum of 45 minutes for your food.

This was our first visit and the South American cuisine was a nice change from the numerous Italian restaurants in our town. The menu had several interesting selections, with the beef selections seeming to be their specialty. Our only negative was our poorly trained server, who removed our bread plates without asking while we were still eating, and later tried to remove my husband's dinner before he was finished. And the loud "Hi, my name is so and so" upon sitting down is not what you expect at a more upscale restaurant. While the restaurant was practically empty we had to stand up and look for someone to take our payment. Maybe this was a one time thing. I would go back again for the food.
