"My new favorite for tapas and paella. Chorizo, albondigas, and even sweetbreads (!) were yummy, and the paella Valencia is full of seafood, meat, and veggies. Even if you don't drink the sangria from a porron, it's quite good, too!"

"Notably good things were: excellent service. Our waiter was informed and his recommendations were spot on every time. Friendly without imposing himself. Their specials (flank steak empanada, spinach salad) were outstanding. We had an excellent Spanish wine as well, also recommended from a very interesting wine list."

"In the end we only had tapas and skipped the entrees because everything on the starter menu was so tempting. It has been the right choice. The classics - albondigas, boquerones, you name it - were as good as all the other, less known offers - like the outstanding slices of sweatbread (which is, despite the name, NOT fit for vegetarians). Our waiter was great, welcoming, funny and he knew his food. He recommended excellent wine. In other words: it really was a perfect evening."

"I was happily surprised when I dined at El Porron. It was a Monday night so it was fairly quiet but it was good with us. The food was good -- we had the grilled octopus, the paella (they have three types), which takes about 30 minutes to make, so if ordering and do not have much time to eat, order it early, and the veal -- but the only critic i have is that the paella was a little salty. The service was very good -- we where taken care of at appropriate times and the waitress actually recommended a very good wine. I would be happy to recommend this restaurant to friends and anyone else looking for a tapas restaurant off the beaten path."

"Had never tried this tapas/Spanish restaurant before. Excellent selection of foods and wine. Very knowledgeable service staff. Only complaint was the noise level was too high where you almost had to shout to hear across the table. Otherwise I would return and would recommend to others."

"Favorite new spot! The tapas are absolutely delicious. We ordered the wild mushrooms (twice!), shrimp, chorizo, and a few others - all were dish-licking good. We even got our server to demonstrate the porron, and then let us try."
