Even better inside the hous. The little couple from Mexico who ran the food truck in the driveway, are now in the kitchen preparing the expanded menu in the elegant, but simple renovated house. The bread and dips in three little dishes were divine. My friend's wine was a great wine from Chile.6/8/2013 12:00:00 AMoutstandingEverything is excellent, but as with a lot of places if you are a party of two you get squeezed into a small table. Minus 1/4 star max. Dont let it stop you. One of the best6/6/2013 12:00:00 AMOaxacan food at its best!Nice surprise in Austin - was visiting. 'Traditional' Mexican cuisine as chef Iliana would say. The innovative cocktails were unusual and intriguing. For dinner, I ordered the Mole of the week with shrimp which was nothing like I had tasted before. Absolutely delicious! Served with rice and side of several sauces and pickled veggies. My friend ordered the special pasilla chile relleno which was also very uniquely delicious. Looking forward to my next trip to Austin. Thanks Chef Iliana for stopping by the table to ensure everything was perfect!6/4/2013 12:00:00 AMGood eatingThe guacamole was sublime. I had a margarita and it was perhaps a little too zesty for my tastes, but my friends really enjoyed it. I had the cochinita pibil that was very good. I also tried one of the moles, my friend had it. It was time I tried mole, so have no real basis for comparison, but it was a little too... "busy", in that there was perhaps a little too much going on flavor-wise and I'm not sure all the ingredients fit well together. But, it was still good.5/24/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat authentic Mexican FoodExcellent service mole was Muy bien
Great venue and area5/23/2013 12:00:00 AMDelicious food!a real pleasure to eat in a lovely, fine restaurant. The drinks and food were wonderful, and the waiters are superb!5/22/2013 12:00:00 AMVery accommodating, excellent foodWe asked the waiter if he could move us away from a loud group in the main dining room, and he took us to a very nice patio in the back. The food--interior Mexican--was good. The mole poblano could have been a little richer, though--more picante and a tad sweeter. And why be stingy with the tortillas? They were excellent, pero hay que poner un buen tambache, caramba! Same for the salsas--they were good, but they brought only a tiny bit of each, and didn't replenish. The tuna ceviche was excellent.5/22/2013 12:00:00 AMUniqueEnjoyed it very much. Not a place to go for nachos or chips. Elegant and food was original.5/15/2013 12:00:00 AMPretty ImpressiveWe had brunch and I found the food near flawless but a little on the bland side. I suspect dinner might be more exciting and I'll definitely be back to find out.

Fabulous tequila selection that we'll definitely be back to try!5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMMother's Day BrunchThis was the perfect place for Mother's Day brunch. The ambiance was upbeat and the decor aesthetically pleasing. The rancheros with masa tortillas were absolutely delicious! The flavors played off of one another so well and I couldn't have asked for a more satisfying dish. I also appreciated all of the gluten free and dairy free options available to us.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMA most delightful experience. The care and attention given to the food and service is apparent. This restaurant is a treasure in a city rich with excellent places for dining. Make it a must!5/8/2013 12:00:00 AMWOW! My fav. place in AustinIf you are an Austinite, or visiting Austin, don't miss this gem! The food is beyond fabulous. Wait till you try their mole sauces (they have 3-4 different kinds each day). Love this place!5/1/2013 12:00:00 AMExpensive, but delicious food.Expensive, but delicious food. Price keeps most of the annoying hipsters out. Multi-chile sauce is heavenly. Flan is the dessert to get.4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMThis was the first time ourThis was the first time our group ordered margaritas. We were disappointed in the size and quality, especially for the price.4/25/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food. Very inventive.Great food. Very inventive. With the traditional Mexican food in the background, they elaborate their own dish. The salsas-dips are exquisite.4/24/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food was excellent. MyThe food was excellent. My husband had a ceviche that was exceptionally different and tastefully surprising. I had the poblanno mole which was not as good as my own but nonetheless better than your local average offerings. I would still recommend it. The condiments served up were dynamite, our favorite was the Salsa Macha....yummmm. We also had a starter which consisted of cheese and peppers. i believe it was called Rajas.... anyway....i highly recommend El Naranjo to anyone wanting the real taste of Mexico lindo.4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMYummy. We really enjoyed our time at El Naranjo. Food was excellent, service was great. WE loved the ceviche. the only thing I would change would be the noise that was due to being seated next to a large group of women who were having fun, but due to the hard surfaces in the room it was very loud and hard to hear each other at our table of four.4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMMuy Sabrosa. The special black bean soup Friday night, along with the Jamaica salad was superb for me, a vegan, while the Chile Poblano Relleno de picadillo Oaxaqueño, a Mole with pork and another Mole with shrimp pleased my omnivore husband and friends too. Everyone liked their drinks, but I particularly loved my Mexican Martini made with a muddled jalepeno pepper, because the bartender listened to my likes and knew exactly what to create for me.4/5/2013 12:00:00 AMOutstanding Food in fun locacationGreat interior Mexican in a very cool location. Nice from the very first start. Greeted at the door by one of the owners. Given a choice of tables. Very knowledgeable server. Outstanding food....from start to finish. Speaking of finish, the tres leches cake was fabulous.3/27/2013 12:00:00 AMWe loved El Naranjo. I'd recommendWe loved El Naranjo. I'd recommend the mole (I don't like traditional mole, but there mole was from a different region, tomato-based and amazing) and the margaritas.3/22/2013 12:00:00 AMAuthentic Mexican High End CuisineOne of the best REAL AND AUTHENTIC Mexican high end cuisine.
