  • "A last-minute change of plans left us scrambling to find a restaurant as we rode the train into Brooklyn. El Mio Cid turned out to be a delightful discovery. Our group of four ordered pitchers of sangria and about eight tapas and we were well pleased. The restaurant is larger than it appears from outside, and since it was not crowded we had plenty of room and a reasonable noise level. The menu offers a huge variety -- too much for me to remember, but we liked it all. Our host was helpful with suggestions. For dessert we had the crème brulee -- which came flambéed -- and a chocolate dish that was similar to a deconstructed s'more. And at the end, our host treated us to a digestif. So we had a great time and would definitely come again!"

  • "The food was outstanding. One of my dining companions and I had the lobster stuffed with shrimp and crabmeat. My other friend had the vegetable paella which was wonderful....so flavorful. My other friend had salmon. I believe she thought the portion was on the smallish side but tasty. The desserts were wonderful also."
