"El Meze has the most amazing food in New Mexico. We literally drove up from Albuquerque to stay the night in Taos in order to eat there. And that's not the first time we've done that. All of their dishes are interesting and delicious, perfectly crafted from very fresh ingredients and creative combinations. It is refined and elegant and ridiculously good. ... However, if you are the type who likes to eat vast quantities of over-salted processed food (think Olive Garden), then you will probably not appreciate El Meze. This is a restaurant for people who truly love delicious and artful food."

"Interesting take on the definition of "New Mexican" cuisine. The chef adds Middle Eastern items to the menu as the Arab world had a large influence on Spanish cuisine, which in turn became a part of New Mexican...... The trout was the best I ever ate. And the sauce on the buffalo shortribs was so memorable that I purchased Chimayo chilis in the hope that I can replicate it."

"The olives stuffed with blue cheese were great!!!! We also loved the mushrooms with garlic toast. However the entrees not so much. My husband had a small trout with the head on it--does say "whole" just didn't realize it was in fact! Not such a good taste with mint. My tamale was good but not great and there was only one small tamale! The chocolate mousse like cake was fabulous! Wine was overpriced. Will try again--just need to know more about the menu. Reasonably priced."

"Food was very good!!! Service was very bad. We got sat, he got us water, and never returned. We had to get the manager to take our order. Same thing happened to the table beside us. Would go back if we ever visit Taos again since the food was very good."

"The restaurant was cozy and the fire place kept the room super warm. The food was really good, with great flavor combinations. The fries and the cinnamon doughnuts were my favorites out of everything we tried. The buffalo tamales had too much sauce that made the masa too mushy and was a bit over priced for only getting one tamale. In general there was a bit too much cilantro on the main dishes for my taste. After a few bites into the dishes all I could taste was the cilantro."
