El Dorado KitchenWow!So we were in Sonoma for the weekend and stopped into El Dorado Kitchen for lunch. The waiter was so lovely! He made excellent suggestions both for wine and for food - all of which we loved. The four of us split oysters and the burrata as apps, along with the truffle fries. My fiance and I each had a burger - delicious! Our friends had the pork tacos and fish tacos. Everything was super tasty and the ambiance and seating outdoors was just perfect! It could not have been a more relaxing lunch! The potato & asparagus soup was a stunning visual with flavors to match. The entrees and three desserts arrived - more sharing and big smiles. I offered a New York 30% tip to the wait staff that was there when necessary and absent, otherwise. Perfect. Even the front staff including a taller young woman who's name I cannot recall, was there to greet with a gracious smile and attentiveness that followed us all the way to our table by the window. Yes, I would recommend El Dorado Kitchen to anyone looking for food that's a few clicks beyond the expected served in a very friendly yet professional manner.

Wow, great food and the wait staff was fantastic. I had the tuna tartare, which was amazing down to the last morsel, and the pork tenderloin with chard which was all just fantastic. I will not miss coming here in the future. One drawback: I had a reservation but was seated and re-seated twice. So, seated three times. That was a bit disconcerting. The waitress actually re-seated me the third time in a better location; she said, "Did you WANT to sit back here in this corner???" Really great gal. We started with a half order of the truffle fries, it did not disappoint. Then out came my husband's beet salad. It was beautifully presented. It was layered with so many great flavors. It consisted of gold beets, red beet paper,oranges apples,grapefruit,candied pistachio merengue. It looked gorgeous on the plate. My husband ordered the Paella and I had the Prime new york steak,both excellent.
Our service was excellent.

It did not disappoint. The patio atmosphere is straight out of a movie set, and the food is delicious. I had a young roasted beets salad with pistachio merengues and goat cheese foam to start. It needed more foam, but otherwise divine. I had pacific prawns risotto for my entree, which was amazing. I practically licked the bowl. Dessert, however, has just okay. I think it was an apple tart, but it wasn't very memorable. The wine list is great and the sommellier made good suggestions (not just the most expensive). Service was a bit lackluster. Waiter was very blase and not too attentive. Food: I started with the beet salad that was sublime, the very thin slices of beets was very different and the goat cheese was so smooth and creamy - out of this world. I had the butter fish and the combo of olive tapenade and citrus and other sauce was really awesome when combined. My friend had the lobster risotto and it was so good and rich she couldn't finish it.
