  • "We celebrated our 20th wedding anniversary at eighteen ninth grille and loved every minute! Thank u for making it so special."

  • "My husband and I were at Lake Granbury for our anniversary, and he chose the restaurant for our celebration. Wonderful food and service and atmosphere. The tomato basil soup was amazing. We don't like noisy restaurants with frenzied activity. This was perfect."

  • "This was an excellent find for our anniversary dinner. Quiet, friendly and attentive service, nice wine menu, Texas Trilogy and Truffle Fries were excellent. If you order the burger, make sure to ask for jalapeno ranch. The 3oz filet and shrimp are advertised as being for light appetites and they mean it. Better perhaps to order the 6oz and add a few grilled shrimp. We found it really charming that they take your picture and print it in the back to give to you before you leave. Overall a great experience for a special occasion at a reasonable price."

  • "Great dining experience, good food and service. We love the setting for the restaurant, historical building. on the square in Granbury! S Gaff is friendly and professional."

  • "4th of July dinner. It took 40 mins for appetizer to arrive. Entre arrived 35 mins later. Service very diffident but also inattentive. Steak medium instead of med rare. Shrimp over cooked. Pork chop over cooked. Sear marks on both pork chop and steak were done to the point of burned bitter char had to cut off."

  • "The first few times we came here a year ago, it was just bad. Service was terrible and so was the food. A year later we were finally willing to give the place another try and we are glad we did! The service was amazing and very attentive. The drink menu was great and the drinks tasted great as well. The food was also great. No complaints and happy to have another option now that Grady's Line Camp is no more."

  • "The Granbury square is dotted with several places to eat but this spot doesn't call much attention to itself. Its fairly surprising because it has a lot to boast about with a unique, intimate ambiance, great service, tasty appetizers and tender Angus steaks. The price can be a little high if you opt in to the extensive wine and bar list, but it is a great location for special occasions."

  • "We went here for our anniversary while staying in Granbury, the food was phenomenal & the service was just as great!"

  • "We were so glad to see 1890 so busy after the show at the Opera House. Great show and excellent dinner."

  • "We were celebrating our wedding anniversary at Eighteen Ninety last Saturday and had a great time. Our reserved table was ready when we arrived and we were quickly greeted by our waitress. She was fairly attentive all evening. The only complaint I had was it was a little slow, especially when waiting for our check, as she knew we needed to get to another event in a few minutes. She was busy with other customers which is fine, but just made me feel like we were going to be late! Other than that, everything was perfect. The food was top-notch and we enjoyed our beverages. Our waitress made great suggestions for all courses of the meal and really made the evening special for us. We would go back."

  • "I grew up, and continue to live, in Granbury. In fact, until it closed around 1974, I frequented this building when it was the Palace Theatre. The food was excellent, but as a Foodie and home gourmet cook, I still have trouble paying exuberant prices for, albeit a good, cut of meat. What I paid for a 6oz filet at 1890 would have bought me an excellent three inch thick end-cut sirloin at C&J Butcher Shop here in Granbury! Be that as it may, the wait staff was attentive and we will ask for Able again for our server."

  • "We first went to the Eighteen Nineties Grill for our anniversary last year. We enjoyed the food and service so much that we decided to do it again. We were not disappointed. "

  • "A great place with excellent service. The steaks were some of the best ever. Would recommend and will definitely return."

  • "We enjoyed our first visit to this fine restaurant. The food was very good, service was excellent, & the Crab cake appetizer was delightful! The bar area looked great, although we did not sit there when we arrived since it was full! We were seated fairly quickly and our waitress took very good care of us. We do think they need to offer a baked potato since we do not care for mashed potatoes served with a steak. Was a great evening and we'll go again!"

  • "My wife and I spent a weekend at Lake Granbury and was pointed to Eighteen Ninety. It was a great experience. Romantic venue with old world charm on the square of Granbury. I've said this a few times since so this is not hyperbole the steak was probably the best I have ever had. The Texas Trilogy was amazing. We'll be making the hour drive in the future just to eat here and return home."

  • "Great place. Service much improved. Food was excellent and hot. My only complaint is that menu choice is very restrictive. The only seafood dish is Salmon and I am allergic to Salmon. Would love to see the sea bass back on menu as it was delicious. Super job. Keep it up. "

  • "We were in Granbury to celebrate our 7th wedding anniversary. Our reservations were for 7:45 and when we arrived at 7:40, we were advised they weren't seating anyone due to staff members walking out/quitting. After an hour+ wait, we saw newly arrived individuals poaching empty tables and being served so we spoke with the host and were finally seated. My "medium" filet came out barely seared (rare) and had to be sent back, it was returned med-rare but I was hungry and ate it regardless; my husband enjoyed the duck. Our server was friendly and apologetic, she was great; sadly, the rest of the experience will not have us returning for our 8th anniversary. "

  • "Nice way to celebrate our wedding anniversary. My husband had the Chilean Sea Bass and said it was excellent , especially with the cooked spinach and sweet potato sides. I had the salmon which was nice. The side of mashed potatoes was somewhat bland. Waiters kept apologizing for being short handed but we received excellent attention including nice conversation with the owner."

  • "Our dining experience could have been great so easily. Because the food itself was very good. But our server never took our drink order and we had to request bread twice. And when the meal was over dessert was never offered and it took much too long just to get our check. Please address the service issues and you'll have yourself a very good restaurant. "

  • "Six of us agreed, the various meals were terrific. All liked the jalapeño grits as a side choice. The seventh person was a vegetarian & would have liked a pasta choice. The service was excellent. We arrived at 6:00 on a quiet Tuesday evening however, by the end of the meal, it was a bit noisy. "

  • "Guests from Dallas enjoyed the food and ambiance, but most of all the service."

  • "Our group of four senior women friends made our second annual trip to Granbury and this time we KNEW where we would have dinner. Most of our group ate the Chilean Sea Bass with the jalapeno cheese grits. So very good! Tender perfectly cooked fish and spicy (but not demonicly so!) grits. One of our group had the filet which she oohed and aahed over and gave bites to all. Excellent! Curtis was our server. He was attentive and friendly and knowledgeable without being annoying in any of those categories. The downstairs hostess was friendly without being gushy. Just exactly right for us."

  • "I would have given all five star rating because the food was absolutely delicious but for service it was great when we first arrived, very attentive but after our entrees arrived the waitress didn't return to our table for a LONG time. It may have been that she was very busy, it was a Saturday evening, but in order to pay the tab and leave we flagged down a different waitress. Other than that the food, ambience, location of the restaurant was excellent!"

  • "My husband and I celebrated our 26th wedding anniversary at 1890. It is so nice to have a restaurant that "has it all". We appreciate the relaxed and tasteful ambiance, friendly professional service, and delectable food that is we can always count on being consistent, tasting better than any restaurant in Granbury. It is closer to anything we were privileged to have when we were so spoiled to live in the Napa Valley, a culinary mecca. We are so encouraged to see what is happening on the Granbury Square!"

  • "The best in Granbury by far, in qualtiy as good as any in Fort Worth"

  • "Was there on February 14th, 2014, the food and services were incredible. We decided to go back there again for dinner the next day, they only had places left for the 9 o'clock siting. Service was very slow even if there was not a lot of costumers, food was undercook (almost raw); had to wait for ever to have our water and other drink refills, brought the wrong kind of wine (red instead of white). We didn't have any bread with our meal, they ran out of it. Selection of dessert was very limited (also ran out of those)."

  • "My wife and I had dinner before the show. Reservation honored on time, server was great (Curtis), food was cooked to order and served hot and we were well taken care of throughout dinner. Great experience."

  • "This is one of the nicest restaurants in Granbury. It is tucked away upstairs I know people are somewhat surprised when we take them up and they see This nice elegant atmosphere hidden up there. We really enjoy the food and wine. We will go back."

  • "Romantic ambiance and the restaurant is nicely lit. The spinach and artichoke dip was delicious. Our server was not knowledgeable about wine and we would have liked some guidance about a selection. Without any help from him we went with a $60 bottle when we were really interested in a couple in the $100 price range. My husband's meal was very good, he had the 14 oz manhattan with jalapeño grits. I had shrimp and filet with mashed potatoes. There was nothing special about my meal, it was rather bland and it felt like steak and ale to have a plastic marker in the meat to tell us it was Angus. I would give it another try and order something else."

  • "This restaurant came highly recomended by our innkeeper, we were not dissappointed. The staff was knowledgable about the menu and the wine list. Our server was attentive and quick to address any issues. The dining area is a bit small so reservations are a good bet (we made ours 4 hours ahead and were seated on schedule). Very romantic atmosphere, it has a nice rustic yet modern vibe. Will be back again!"

  • "My husband and I are here for NYE. I had made reservations four days prior. We arrived about 10 minutes before our reserved time and were told our table wasn't quite ready and were told to head up to the bar. (We were fine with waiting since we were a little early). The minutes passed with other parties of 2 being seated. I don't know what their reservation situation was but I do know that we were not seated until 8:55. I was less than thrilled with having to wait that long for a table we should've been given at our reserved time. They were busy with the holiday but not so busy that others were having to wait. Once we did get our table the service was great and the food was outstanding, as usual. Overall I enjoy 1890."

  • "I chose the restaurant based on their menu posted outside and on line. When we were seated we were given a different menu with one price and nothing on it I wanted, so I did not eat with the others in my party! I doubt I will go back, I don't like to basically be told what I'm going to eat. The restaurant should let you know they are going to change their menu when you make reservations. The menu basically made you pay for appetizers and dessert which I didn't want."

  • "We celebrated the Christmas season by going to the newly remodeled Opera House and Eighteen Ninety for a lovely dinner. Everything was a "cut above" anything available in Granbury! Moving from the Napa Valley, it is nice to know that we finally can get quality food accompanied by a pleasant ambience and excellent service. Bravo for Eighteen Ninety!"

  • "Arrived right at reservation time and was seated immediately. That was the only thing timely. It was 10 or 15 min before waitress even came over. Waited 30 min for appetiser. Food quality was excellent, but pricey. Good for special occasion, but not regular night out."

  • "Perfect Anniversary dinner. Quaint, relaxing, romantic, great wine list, food was excellent, would do it again in a heart beat. Waitress was adorable and helpful."

  • "Had 8:15 reservation but nobody was downstairs to seat us. I had to walk inside and ask to be seated. The food was cold, our drinks sat unfilled and our waiter was not to be seen. I would have spent more money on drinks but after waiting as long as we did, we cut our loses, paid and left. After working myself in the food industry when I was younger I'm very patient but this was a little extreme."
