The place is a lovely, tucked away, gem! Stayed on the square to get away for our anniversary from the bustling city. Wanted a nice dinner for the evening and it was perfect. The food was fabulous, the atmosphere was elegant, and the service was exceptional. I will definitely be back when in the area.

My husband's steak was not great. The ones he cooks at home are much better ! My fish was ok, nothing to write home about. Needed a sauce. My neighbor's pork chop was not done. It was MR inside ! Had to wait quite a while for it to be cooked properly.( And it was her birthday) Not very impressive. The noise level was almost intolerable. Impossible to hear the person next to you. Too bad. It is a nice looking restaraunt that could be so nice if these situations were improved !

  • A dining must when visting Granbury

My wife and I spent a weekend in Granbury and chose Eighteen Ninety Grille as our Saturday night dining option. The food was very good (we ordered the filet and the pork chop which were both prepared as ordered and were very flavorful) but we came away more impressed with the overall experience. The restaurant is located upstairs in a historic building that the owners have done a wonderful job of keeping the natural beauty intact which lends to a very intimate space and atmosphere more reminiscent of restaurants in larger cities. There was a string ensemble playing the night we dined which added to the overall ambiance and made Eighteen Ninety Grille a restaurant we'd definitely dine at again when our travels bring us back to Granbury.

My girlfriend and I came upon Eighteen Ninety Grille and Lounge pretty much by luck. It was tucked away in the small little town of granbury Tx. Once there we were treated exquisitely and the food was remarkable. I would recommend the steaks. It was a really small romantic fun place to dine and I would go back anytime.

I took my wife for a getaway weekend in Granbury. Small town, charming environment so I wasn't sure what I was going to find for a Romantic evening for my wife's Birthday. Ian was our server and he was a delight. The food was amazing and the wine list was incredible. I have worked in the hospitality industry for over 30 years so I know what a great experience is. This is truly a great place! We will be back.

Poor service. Had a bad smell. Place was almost empty. No one greeted us nor waited on our table. Place seemed to be on auto pilot. Menu prices were high. Not the kind of place to spend top money. Very disappointed.

we have been here several times. It's always a generally good experience, as it looks out over the Square, but food quality is uneven, and has fallen into a rut. Menu changes very little, and choices such as duck breast have disappeared. Last time I had shrimp, which was edible but had a sting-y aftertaste that comes with marginal freshness. Not exactly bad, but not what a good restaurant serves. The standby vegetable is always asparagus, which I love, but here it's not succulent; it's usually woody, which is probably due to a lack of freshness. One hesitates to be too critical about a restaurant that should be a gem for Granbury, but has become complacent, with flagging creativity and a lack of fresh ingredients.

We would recommend Eighteen Ninety...it has a nice casual but nice ambiance and the food is the best we have found in Granbury. The service has always been superb. My husband and I went there to celebrate the closing of our house. Our waiter, Abel, was wonderful. He was serving several tables at the same time but not once did we have to wait for anything. He was friendly, efficient and knowledgeable. That was our first visit to Eighteen Ninety Grille and Lounge but we were already planning our next visit while we were there. I recommend sitting upstairs away from the noise of the bar if you want a quiet, relaxing dinner.

Food was high priced for the quality. Service was poor. Waitstaff would take order and did not follow through on requests like leave off onions and even suggested my steak be butterflied but did not follow through with cook. Would rather be at Hoffbrau where the quality matches the price.

Food is still very good, a bit overpriced, they have removed a smaller steak (6 oz.) from the menu. It was our favorite. Portion size of the sides is still smaller than competition in Fort Worth or Weatherford.

We weren't sure what to expect from this as we have been to many steakhouses around the country. My husband ordered a cocktail and the kids got their waters right away..but my daughter ordered a lemonade and it took a minute. I ordered a cocktail and my husband ordered wine for the meal. We got the wine before my cocktail which meant I didn't need the cocktail at this point. Then we got our Texas trio appetizer which was warm and flavorful. Next came our steaks which we ordered the filet, filet and shrimp, and the strip. They all came out cold and the asparagus wasn't cleaned properly- the ends weren't trimmed. My husband ordered his strip medium rear and it was clearly raw in the center...the shrimp was way over cooked.

This was our 5th time to eat dinner there. The steak was excellent but the sides have diminished in size each time with the sides on this evening much smaller than usual. Believe they need to be careful of portion size or they will lose business. The prices are high enough to warrant better.

This was an excellent find for our anniversary dinner. Quiet, friendly and attentive service, nice wine menu, Texas Trilogy and Truffle Fries were excellent. If you order the burger, make sure to ask for jalapeno ranch. The 3oz filet and shrimp are advertised as being for light appetites and they mean it. Better perhaps to order the 6oz and add a few grilled shrimp. We found it really charming that they take your picture and print it in the back to give to you before you leave. Overall a great experience for a special occasion at a reasonable price.

4th of July dinner. It took 40 mins for appetizer to arrive. Entre arrived 35 mins later. Service very diffident but also inattentive. Steak medium instead of med rare. Shrimp over cooked. Pork chop over cooked. Sear marks on both pork chop and steak were done to the point of burned bitter char had to cut off.

The first few times we came here a year ago, it was just bad. Service was terrible and so was the food. A year later we were finally willing to give the place another try and we are glad we did! The service was amazing and very attentive. The drink menu was great and the drinks tasted great as well. The food was also great. No complaints and happy to have another option now that Grady's Line Camp is no more.

The Granbury square is dotted with several places to eat but this spot doesn't call much attention to itself. Its fairly surprising because it has a lot to boast about with a unique, intimate ambiance, great service, tasty appetizers and tender Angus steaks. The price can be a little high if you opt in to the extensive wine and bar list, but it is a great location for special occasions.

We were celebrating our wedding anniversary at Eighteen Ninety last Saturday and had a great time. Our reserved table was ready when we arrived and we were quickly greeted by our waitress. She was fairly attentive all evening. The only complaint I had was it was a little slow, especially when waiting for our check, as she knew we needed to get to another event in a few minutes. She was busy with other customers which is fine, but just made me feel like we were going to be late! Other than that, everything was perfect. The food was top-notch and we enjoyed our beverages. Our waitress made great suggestions for all courses of the meal and really made the evening special for us. We would go back.

I grew up, and continue to live, in Granbury. In fact, until it closed around 1974, I frequented this building when it was the Palace Theatre. The food was excellent, but as a Foodie and home gourmet cook, I still have trouble paying exuberant prices for, albeit a good, cut of meat. What I paid for a 6oz filet at 1890 would have bought me an excellent three inch thick end-cut sirloin at C&J Butcher Shop here in Granbury! Be that as it may, the wait staff was attentive and we will ask for Able again for our server.

We enjoyed our first visit to this fine restaurant. The food was very good, service was excellent, & the Crab cake appetizer was delightful! The bar area looked great, although we did not sit there when we arrived since it was full! We were seated fairly quickly and our waitress took very good care of us. We do think they need to offer a baked potato since we do not care for mashed potatoes served with a steak. Was a great evening and we'll go again!
