  • "Casual, nice micro beer selection- good pub like feel with terrific views and comfortable vibe. Server was delightful and added to whole experience."

  • "We had a family get together for lunch and had an awesome time at Grove Park Inn. It was a gorgeous day and we were able to enjoy the beautiful views and experience the history around us. It was very special."

  • "Slow, horrible service. Food and drink (cocktails) were mediocre. Order beer or wine from bar and enjoy the view. Don't bother dining or trying watered-down cocktails!"

  • "Views and vistas are spectacular in wonderful Asheville NC!"

  • "From the hostess who greeted us to the time we left, it was all very impressive!"

  • "We truly enjoyed the atmosphere and service. Our food, specifically the sauces, were very salty. The chicken BLT was delicious."

  • "Of all the world-class dining at the Grove Park Inn, Edison is probably my favorite. The atmosphere is more casual, so it doesn't feel stuffy, and the view and atmosphere can't be beat. Love the eclectic menu, NC beers on draft, and impressive selection of bourbons and whiskeys. A fun night out even if you aren't staying at the Inn itself, because parking is free for the first three hours. This is a place I would take a date for a romantic dinner in the dining room, or hang out at the bar and watch the game with my boys."

  • "The view of the blue ridge mountains was the best Part of our dinner. We really enjoyed the German Pretzel shareable appetizer. Server was a bit Too formal. But overall it was a pleasant dining experience."

  • "Food was super expensive, but the fish and chips were good."
    Dined on 3/16/2014
  • "While the entrees are reasonably priced, the offerings on the appetizer or small plates menu are even more interesting. Add a flight of locally crafted beer and enjoy the meat and cheese plate, eggplant dip, quail or seared scallops!"

  • "Was not impressed at all. The food tasted ok but was cold and when it was brought back out it was still Luke warm. My husband had almost all his meal done before I received my meal. The menu was not impressive very little to choose from"
    Dined on 3/8/2014
  • "We were there with several friends. The view cannot be topped. The eggplant dip was very good and the salmon was also. Two had the Moroccan Chick Pea Stew and said it was good. The Fish and Chips were only tolerable at best. The batter was fairly thick and was the most greasy batter I have ever seen. Fries were OK but are better at most fast food restaurants. If you like Brussels Sprouts, you may not want to order the appetizer. It was pretty bad. The cost of this restaurant is very high based on the quality and quantity of food provided. Getting a coffee and desert might be the best use of this particular restaurant in the GPI. Having a drink at the bar would also be advisable."

  • "We ate at Edison's last Friday night during our weekend stay at the Grove Park Inn. Great service, good food. The view of the Blue Ridge Mountains and a fantastic sunset made it really nice. Good selection of local beers and a good wine list. Everyone in our party ordered something different and we all really enjoyed our meal. After dinner it's nice to go outside and sit by the fireplace and watch your favorite sporting event on the huge TVs."

  • "We sat in the bar area and the outside door was near us. The waitors would sometimes leave it open, and the air was quite cold. The pretzel bread was amazing and we appreciated the suggestions from our waitress. She was quite knowledgeable."

  • "We enjoyed our dining experience, the restaurant is a terrific stopping place at the GPI. Everyone was attentive to our dining needs and the food was great. We were seated in a nice area where we could have an evening of conversation."

  • "Eat here for the view! Every table has a great view of the mountains. The menu has something for everyone (Pig tail and hamburgers). The appetizer list is wonderful."

  • "The restaurant has an amazing view of the mountains and we were there at 5:30 which was perfect for a sunset meal. He had the scallops and I had the quail and we shared an order of the mushrooms. I could not have been more pleased with my meal. The waiter was extremely knowledgeable of the menu as well of the craft beer on the menu. We each did a beer flight and I have to say....Awesome! I would go back tomorrow if I lived in Asheville! : - )"

  • "Who can beat the views from this place, awesome. Staff are well trained and attentive. You will not feel rushed while dining, something that I look for."

  • "My girlfriends and I were at the Grove Park Inn and my Brother In Law joined us for dinner at the Edison. It was simply lovely! Even though it is mid February we were able to eat outside near one of their fire pits. The area was incredibly comfortable, private and fun nonetheless. Even though we were in the midst of a large outside space, it feels very intimate. The service is fabulous; the food was great and the company irreplaceable! We have already booked for next year - same weekend; same place! Can't wait!"

  • "We've had some really good experiences here, the most recent was not one of them. Service was great, but the food was subpar."

  • "First, our bottle of wine was corked and our waiter agreed. He took it to the bartender, who decided it was not corked and kept it at the bar. Did he really serve that bad wine to other customers!? Our bottle was replaced and that 1st bottle should have gone in the trash. The main course was good, but lacked sufficient sides to warrant the price. Finally, our bill came and we had been charged more for our wine than the menu price. They adjusted the bill, but what if we hadn't noticed the discrepancy?! I might recommend Edison to a friend, but only after I warned them to beware!"

  • "The soup bowl was hot, but the soup was cold... It came back nuking hot, very bland and served with celophane covered satltines.. not a great start for the Grove Park Inn Our drink order came after our soup. It seems odd that a place noting itself for craft beer would take more than 15 minutes to pour a flight of beer. Brussel sprout small plate was fairly tasty, but served luke warm at best. Identical comment for the short ribs. The food scene in the rest of Asheville is superior to this resort."

  • "Edison's is located on the lobby level of the Grove Park Inn with the amazing view of their golf course And downtown Asheville. Stunning! We started with the eggplant hummus with olives and oil on grilled Pita triangles. Delicious. We both had the salad which was unamazing and priced separately. We both had the turkey thigh on a bed of greens with jalapeños and cilantro. The turkey was moist and Basted in a great sauce. Very delicious. I wanted their salmon, but it was farm raised and I only Eat wild caught. Overall, good food and amazing atmosphere. Limited menu and the perfect place to drink and linger."

  • "The Grove Park Inn is the pinnacle of opulence! There for Valentine's Weekend, we took the opportunity to have dinner in the Inn. After looking over the menus of the 2 restaurants we decided on the Edison. The Inn is a fantasy world beautifully nestled in the North Carolina mountains. The fantasy continues into the restaurant. Every table either sits by the roaring fire or offers a sweeping panoramic view of the Blue Ridge Mountains. The Edison has a cozy, lodge feel. The food was adequate. I expect excellence, but you are paying for location, which the Edison delivers. The service was very good. So overall, it was an great experience and I would recommend it and return when I want a good meal in a fantasy location."

  • "With a reservation I had hoped for a good table. We were placed next to the kitchen door. It was too cold to sit on the terrace which would have been much better for the view. Maybe we ordered wrong, but the food didn't match the price. The next time we go to the Grove Park, we'll try the buffet which had far more choices and more tables with a view."

  • "I was very excited about taking my parents, my husband, and two friends to lunch on Christmas Day. We had a table with steel, cold, uncomfortable chairs and even after seeing my elderly parents and their friends be uncomfortable in the chairs, as were my husband and I, we were not allowed to move to a better table. There were tables available with better chairs but this lack of concern has made me feel that for the price and the congestion around the valet area, it's just not worth the trouble."

  • "We were at Omni Grove Park Inn scheduling a dinner on 04/23/14 in the Skyline Room and Mountain View Terrace. This was the first time we (my boss and I) had eaten at The Edison. Food was delicious and service was amazing. John is a great waiter. We are looking forward to our big event in April. Thank you."

  • "I was expecting a high level of service this being the Omni Grove Park Inn and was disappointed in what I got. The food itself was very good and the view of great. The service on the other hand lacked much. When the server came to the table I thought he was the assistant because he said hello and nothing more and started to pour the water. He never introduced himself or offered the specials of the day. He wasn't rude just not overly frienly. In fact there wasn't anyone we came across that seemed to be enjoying their jobs. The salmon and the fish and chips were very good and I would recommened both. The restaurant itself had several lights out and missing lampshades from the lights. Its felt like no one really cared."

  • "We had lunch at EDISON. It was beautifully presented and delicious. The service was impeccable, the view fantastic (even in winter), and the ambiance was great. I wholeheartedly recommend it, especially for special occasions. I also had breakfast at Blue Ridge and it was equally wonderful."

  • "This was our second dinner at Edison , and the prelude to many more. Excellent food, stellar service , and amazing views. We all fell in love with the brussel sprouts even though part of our group are not veggie enthusiasts."

  • "Great view we were in front a window, but if not, not so good. Food was more like bar food not a dinner, but was excellent. Burgers great but for $18.00 it should have been. Salmon was not so good, black drum fish catch of the day was great. But when making reservations I asked for a view since we were taking out of town guests. When we arrived a cold Thur. night not crowded I checked on our reservations and asked hostess if we had a window table she said they did not guarantee a view table only a table at our given time. Not a cool answer. I am sure when seating guests they pick and choose tables, they can put reserved on tables, like a lot of others ."

  • "We headed to the grovepark for a winter getaway after Christmas and had dinner at the Edison after a day in the Spa! We always love the food in downtown Asheville so I was a little nervous about staying in for the evening. The Edison was great! Hip vibe, friendly staff, excellent food and drinks."

  • "This was our first time at this restaurant. We chose the Scotch eggs to share as an appetiser and they were nice. I chose the fish and chips for my entree. The chips were cold, so they had to go back! The batter on the fish was crisp but tasted very greasy! Instead of taking my entire meal back, the waiter just took the container of chips way (which was actually on my plate with the fish!). I was left to eat the fish! The fries were rock hard when they came back and I suspect they were just refried! My husband's meal was OK but nothing special. Price-wise this place is not cheap to eat. We paid over $100.00, including a tip, for a two course lunch (sharing an appetiser), a small glass of wine, a small bottle of ginger beer and two coffees."

  • "We're locals and we've been to Edison's before on several occasions. We love the new bar and the new vibe. But we have not been as a group and had dinner with friends. It was very good but because it so was so busy the service was slow and it took awhile to get our entrees and mine wasn't up to par. Normally this does not happen so I think it was just because it was so busy."

  • "Service was embarrassingly poor. Lots of employees standing around with no clear direction. Over thirty minutes for wine to arrive. Food not enjoyable enough to put up with laughable service. Top that with $15 valet parking and it all adds up to don't bother."
