Diner Reviews
  • "Excellent experience! Everything was soooo good, from the drinks to the food to the desert. It was all over the top!"

  • "Second visit. Once again outstanding. Notable dishes in our party - curry seafood chowder, fried green tomato salad, oxtail, and duck confit. Too many choices - need to go back again to try others. Definitely one of the top spots in Tampa. "

  • "I recently tried Edison for the first time & loved it! The food was delicious and the drinks were even better! The staff was very helpful with recommendations on food and drinks. However, the service was really slow. It took anywhere from 10-20 minutes each time I ordered a drink."

  • "Always fresh, always excellent. Rotating menu. Fantastic cocktails and good beer/wine selection.. Very innovative. I've never had a bad meal at Edison."

  • "Literally sitting at the all wood harder than a church pew booth was super uncomfortable. The music was on way too loud and the hard surfaces don't help the sound quality. The menu print size was too small to read comfortably and I wear glasses."

  • "Have 2 servers was a bit akward. We also had a vegan guest and they struggled a bit with finding options. Once they did the food was great."

  • "Excellent choices and great concoction of recipes!"

  • "We had a group of 4 and shared a number of small plates and one entree. The bar and food menu is unique and changes often. The small plate range from mussels to buffalo style cauliflower. It was a most enjoyable evening. The only down side was the noise level. Would return in a heartbeat."

  • "This was my second visit to Edison's and was once again impressed by the setting, food and service. Next time I will bring a larger group."
    Dined on 4/3/2014
  • "The group enjoyed their meal. The menu was varied enough so that each person was satisfied with their choices for each course."

  • "Edison was recommended to me while I was in town on business by a Tampa friend who has excellent taste. He was correct. The menu was innovative, the food excellent, and the waiter knowledgeable and attentative. The ambiance is informal, relaxed, and tastefully done in a minimalist style. Unless you want something fancy and glitzy, I highly recommend Edison."

  • "Simply the best and one of the best creative restaurants in the south..."

  • "Impressive. Visiting from pWashington, DC area; took time to investigate best Tampa restaurants. Edison stood out; we were excited to try it. It lived up to the reviews. Exceptional & innovative to say the least! So many fascinating choices; 2 of us went with 6 appies instead of entrees. Perfect idea! Loved poke' and grilled tuna. Adored the escargot, foi gras, and oysters w/ potato crust. Thoroughly enjoyed lump crab salad! Each ingredient plays a significant role. Our server, Adrienne, was great & knowlegable. Complaints about prices & value in past reviews surprised us. We thought it was incredible value!"

  • "My dinner partner and I had a late lunch here and we both are trying to be a little more healthy with our choices. The sandwich descriptions looked great, the fried chicken I must try one day, and the curry dishes sounded wonderful, but we both had salads. His was one with apple somethings on it and mine had shrimp with fresh greens. I should have taken a picture because I cannot remember what all was on my plate - radishes, I remember because I LOVE them. Both salads were beautiful to the eye. I would have given 5 stars but there was just a tad too much dressing on my salad, which is my opinion, because some people like more dressing than I do. I like to taste my greens and not the dressing. The dressing was delicious though!"

  • "As always this was a great experience. The food was amazing and despite being very busy the service was very good. Enjoyed the fish rillettes with spicy peanut sauce, the pork belly was outstanding, pear salad was clean and interesting and the scallops were superb with a sunchoke puree, maitake mushrooms and water chestnuts. All shared and enough for two!"

  • "I have a large number of foods that I don't like to I had some trepidation with the items on their menu. Nonetheless, their sale was outstanding and the scallops were excellent. I would never have guessed that edamame on the plate would enhance it as much as it did."

  • "Edison never disappoints. The staff is delightful and attentive. You can always count on thoughtfully crafted dishes with exciting and unique flavors. This is a great place for date night, sipping on cocktails, and enjoying several appetizers. I would definitely recommend trying Edison."

  • "Very Expensive and there are many other places I would rather spend that kind of money at. The cocktails missed the mark, however, the food was good. Maybe this place would be better for brunch because the coffee was the best part of our meal."

  • "My wife and I went to Edison for our Friday date night. Everything was perfect. We had the potatoe crusted oyster and bacon conch fritters for our appetizers. Then she had the butter poached lobster tail. I had the duck confit We both enjoyed our entrees as well. We finished the night with the butter cake dessert. That was fabulous. I rate this a foodie location. I would not bring the kids here though."

  • "2nd visit to this downtown gem. This time for our son-in-laws birthday. Apps were great as was the meal, but somehow not as good as our first visit. They were out of several of the specialty drinks that we ordered. My husbands duck dish was so salty he could barely eat it and my Mom had Corvina that she said was tasteless. My fried chicken, my daughters scallop dish were both delish! Both times we arrived early, 5:30 & 6:00. They fill up fast so reservations are a must. When the place is full, it is very loud. Nothing soft to muffle the sound. We'll give them another try...."

  • "Loved the whole atmosphere, great wait staff. The menu changes daily! Very different and not a bad thing on the menu. Great place!!"
    Dined on 3/22/2014
  • "The chef is creative & outstanding. Interesting menu, everything VERY tasty, and great presentation. Excellent waitress too. The only downside - we had a booth near the back (less noisy) but the wooden bench seats were very uncomfortable. We hear they might get better ones.."

  • "We flew into Tampa on our way to central Florida and heard about this place on Open Table, so we decided to stop for lunch before leaving the city for our final destination. We were not disappointed. The menu is very creative and takes advantage of local ingredients. We took advantage of the seafood offerings but there is something for everyone on the menu. We had such a great experience we left early from our trip to have lunch there again before going to the airport! We have not been there for dinner but can certainly recommend it as a wonderful lunch destination."

  • "Delicious food, fantastic cocktails, great service in a very casual eclectic atmosphere makes the food + drink lab one of my immediate favorites!"
    Dined on 3/21/2014
  • "I can not describe in words how wonderful the food & drinks are! The different ingredients, flavors & textures were amazing! Four of us ordered different entrees & desserts and honestly everyone of the choices were wonderful."

  • "The food was amazing, everything on the menu was tempting! I was with a group, and we sampled many things, all equally wonderful. Perfectly seared scallops over butternut squash succotash, grilled shrimp over salad, a tremendous and delicious sandwich and an heirloom tomato burrata salad."
    Dined on 3/20/2014
  • "Always love going to eat here because the menu is super creative. This past visit the service was just lacking. It could have been that the noise level was too loud for our server to hear, but things were left off the order and service was generally slow."

  • "The food was outstanding: creative, flavorful, delicious."

  • "Great service, original and ever changing menu. Enjoyed the staffs casual but attentive approach. We went for it and tried whatever sounded the most intriguing...we were thrilled. Must try the vacuum pot coffee!"

  • "My wife and I went to Edison to celebrate our 14 yr anniversary. We normally go to Berns Steakhouse but opted to try something new. I don't know if we just expected more from Edison or if we are just use to better dining for the cost. The place was very loud, so much so that we could not carry on a casual conversation. The appetizers were good but not AMAZING and the same can be said for the main course. The servers all wear jeans and tennis shoes. That is something I would expect at a local beach bar restaurant but not at a place I am paying that much for. I don't mind paying a good amount for a great dinner with great ambiance ($150-200) but it needs to hit on all touch points and Edison did not do that! Won't be back!"

  • "We had a wonderful time at Edison. The cocktails were very unique and refreshing. The food was delicious. The wine was a great find. The coffee service was right out of a text book! Loved it!"

  • "This is the third time we've been to Edison and as usual, it did not disappoint. The food was perfectly cooked, the drinks are the best in Tampa, and the wait staff is engaging and fun to interact with. Great job Edison team."

  • "I took my husband here for one of the stops on his month-long birthday dinner tour, and boy was he amazed! We showed up exactly on time for our reservation (I prefer a few minutes early...), and were greeting by a very nice hostess. She made sure to tell our waitress that we were there for my husband's birthday, so our waitress made sure to congratulate my husband and make our dining experience great. The food was like nothing we'd ever had, and every staff member we came in contact with was amazing. The food was timed perfectly. Bring cash for the valet ($3+tip)...it's so worth it."

  • "The food exceeded my expectations. Innovative, unique, great addition to the food scene in Tampa. Will be back for sure. The Lamb was outstanding!"

  • "I enjoy creative food and flavors and don't mind paying for them. But even I found edison a bit overpriced, especially since I did not think the service was all that good. No complaints about the food but for the money, I think there are better places to go in Tampa."

  • "I now take all my clients here for lunch. So close to downtown Tampa, makes it quick and easy. Never had a problem with parking. Clients who have never been here are stunned at the innovative presentation and quality of food. Daily fish and scallop dishes impress. The waitstaff is amazingly friendly and pleasant. Makes me look good."

  • "The potato-crusted oysters, buffalo cauliflower, and kale apple salad were amazing among many others. You have to get coffee too! It is made in vaccuum like contraption. Very cool Great for groups or a nice date spot."

  • "Being a chef myself it is difficult to find a place to eat that you truly enjoy. There is not a single negative thing to say about my experience at Edison! The food was outstanding as was the atmosphere and service. I would highly recommend the food + drink lab to anyone looking for a great meal! I won't recommend any dishes seeing as their menu changes daily but I will say to trust the chef and try something new."
