Diner Reviews
  • "The innovative menu was fun to explore and the meal was delightful. Servers were very knowledgeable about the many unusual selections on the menu as well as exceptionally attentive. Plan return visits."

  • "This was our second time dining at Edison. The menu is great and the food is delicious. But the service is lacking. Our waiter had a full load of tables AND was training a new bartender. At this price point, we should not have to wait for a wine refill. We will not be returning."

  • "Not impressed with the appetizers or entrees. I was expecting at least an eclectic/modern presentation of the food. We ordered the Moles-frites and they ended up being just house fries in the basket. I did not think it worthy to pay 9 dollars for some fries in a basket. The Garlic Aoli sauce was weak and watery. Ordered the Buffalo wing style Cauliflower, and it was overcooked and too soft cauliflower. The popcorn creme brulee was amazing, cheddar ice cream taste similar to a salted caramel flavor. Also the sugar crusted butter cake was good."

  • "For every dish there are layers of flavor. On this particular night they were all spicy. That was what we wanted and that is what we got. The chef does heat well. The chef also took care to balance texture along with the flavours. The menu changes daily and each night will be different. The wait staff are knowledgeable but aren't afraid or too cool to ask the chef if you have questions."

  • "Jeannie does a great job with a creative menu. It changes several times a year so it is always fresh. One of our favorites!"

  • "I first heard about Edison in a brochure for the best restaurants in the Tampa Bay area. Of course, Edison was rated number one so we had to try it. Well, they certainly deserve that title because I had never had food so elegant and refined in my life. I ordered the burrata that came with an amazing chipotle lime sorbet. My first bite was filled with so many textures and pungent flavors. It was a light and perfectly balanced appetizer or "spark" as they call it. My mother ordered the scallops which were perfectly cooked and not chewy at all. They just melted in your mouth and the balsamic just woke up all your taste buds which elevated the scallop even more. Every dish was just carefully thought out so well!"

  • "... and friendly staff. We checked out Edison on recommendation from friends and now join them in recommending Edison to you. Go check them out!"

  • "Creative and tasty menu and presentation. Love the small plates and opportunity to expand my tastebud horizons. Great beer and wine menu too."

  • "The food was delicious and there was a wonderful variety. The service was very attentive and my friends and I really enjoyed our lunch there."

  • "Edison was a very enjoyable experience. The mixed drink menu was full of exotic combinations, like the Andes Manhattan made with Pisco. There was also a colossal selection of wines by the glass. The variety of plates from the Sparks, small appetizers for one, to the larger cold and hot starters were all creative, beautifully presented and delicious. Entrees were equally eclectic and yummy. We topped it off with the chocolate torte and a pot of vacuum coffee. This unique coffee created table side was fun to watch and an excellent brew to drink."

  • "Good food, great service, cool place, good drinks, NOT kid friendly. I do not mind spending money on great food and a great restaurant experience for my family, however the bill did not sit well with me this time. I this case I didn't feel like the experience = the cost. For one - it was uncomfortably hot, secondly it felt more like sitting in a bar than a restaurant. For what my wife, daughter and I paid to get out of there on a Friday 7:00 pm meal, we could have gone to one of the finer great steak houses in the area and paid the same. Glad I tried - but will I go back.... don't think so...."

  • "Four of us went and all dishes were well done and well presented. The waitress had extensive knowledge of each dish and the drink list. We walked away very satisfied. Try the goat cheese truffles!"

  • " Outstanding meal, excellent service (server: Jillian), unique (but expensive) drinks. Great experience!"

  • "Had the sweet corn vichyssoise. It was amazing. Beautifully presented and was a wonderful combination of soup and the garnish. I would go back for the soup alone. I finished my dinner with the oyster appetizer. The oysters were perfectly cooked and beautifully presented. All in all a 5 star meal. I have eaten here several times and the menu keeps getting better and better."

  • "First time visiting as read top reviews in a local magazine so we headed there to celebrate my birthday. Fantastic apps including buffalo cauliflower and truly unique, inspired entrees. Definitely will be back!!!"

  • "I drove 1.5 hrs to go back to this restaurant. The food is amazing! Each bite is an experience!"

  • "I was highly impressed with the menu, there were so many great, unique options! My friend and I ended up splitting the cheese plate (a must have), the ahi tuna, and the salmon. The salmon was cooked to perfection, crispy outside and just done in the middle. It was hard to decide on just one dessert, but we chose the butter cake - WOW! Can't wait to go back. The service could have been faster, as it didn't seem too busy, but the food more than made up for it."

  • "This is a wonderful establishment with a menu that will make anyone happy. The duck was perfectly cooked and your ice cream was heavenly. I don't drink bit the wine and no cocktail list is worth the trip by itself. Thank you"

  • "The potato crusted oysters are my favorite!! The only negative about Edison is that I can't have everything on the menu!"
    Dined on 6/13/2014
  • "The food is spectacular at Edison. The presentation is amazing. The decor is urban chic and it is a hidden gem along Kennedy Blvd. We got to meet the Chef and owner and she was super nice and personable. I love supporting chef owned, independent restaurants. Highly recommended."

  • "Very diverse, interesting, and eclectic menu. Sampled a wide variety of small plates and entrees, most were delicious. Interesting wine list, plus the ability to order 1/2-bottles allowed greater variety of wine pairings with different foods."

  • "The concept of the restaurant seemed unique and fun. Especially when the menu changes daily. The food was good, when prepared correctly and served timely....which it was not. The service was absolutely horrendous. At first we didn't even know who our waiter was and both seemed to not like their job (there were only two for the whole restaurant). When we would ask questions about the menu we were never explained what exactly each item was. We were just told what we should order. Food took forever to come and the servers didn't seem to care about our requests. This place seemed like it could be a great hot spot but for a $100 tab I'll go to a place that actually cares about their customers."

  • "What a great experience during our recent visit for lunch. Started off with some tasty Gimlet's, loved the Buffalo Cauliflower, the Scallops were perfect, overall an awesome lunch."

  • "Again, we had an excellent experience. Brought two friends with us for their first visit. They loved it. The first time I brought my husband to your restaurant, he brought me flowers the next day. Our friends loved it just as much as we do."

  • "We were stuck in a booth in the back and then forgotten time and again for 2 hours. We didn't even get dessert because we we had waited 20+ minutes for dessert menus. "

  • "We do not often get to South Tampa to dine, but we'd heard great things about Edison. I made this reservation for my husband's birthday dinner. We were NOT disappointed! The menu is very interesting and we wish that we'd been a larger group so that we could have tried more of the apps. The combination of flavors of all dishes and the presentation is outstanding. We cannot wait to go back and bring some friends that enjoy good food. We highly recommend this restaurant."

  • "Every time-and I mean EVERY- edison's delivers exceptionally prepared and plated food. This is the place for people who know better and are accustomed to the San Fran/Manhattan food sourcing and scene. Tampa Bay has two stand out restaurants and this is one. You will fine masterfully created food creating a celebration in your mouth. This restaurant is discreet delivering stellar food. If you are looking for pomp this is NOT THE PLACE FOR YOU, you will NOT find mediocre food is disguised in artificial ceremony."

  • "Edison is a special restaurant for the adventurous foodie. I loved it. The chef combines the most unusual ingredients and combinations to make some very creative and flavor popping dishes. I know why they call it a lab. I get the impression that the culinary staff is always experimenting trying to perfect each dish and they do it well. The wine list is well done and there are a number of selections that pair well with the food. I was really impressed. For now this is a local place and I was one of the few "visitors" from out of town who discovered this foodie find. "

  • "The food was pretty good, but I wouldn't say it was delicious. However, the menu has some interesting choices and changes daily. The service was mediocre and my boyfriend's credit card was charged $380 plus the price of dinner. Then, I got an email saying I didn't honor my reservations. Um, I'm definitely not in any rush to go back there."

  • "Ryan and Ryan were the best servers I think I've ever had. The scallops were the best I've ever had thanks to Ryan's recommendations. So impressed with your restaurant."

  • "We went for dinner on a Friday evening and the overall experience was outstanding. The staff were wonderful and the food outstanding. There were one or two vegetarians in the group and the chef could modify some of the dishes for them. At the same time, it was felt that have one vegetarian entree in the menu would be welcome. The duck confit and the jamaican chicken with waffles were interesting. if you have a sweet tooth, the butter cake is for you - it is very sweet and probably packed with calories, but simply out of this world! The special Buddy Brew Coffee made at the table is an interesting experience. Overall, expensive, but worth the money."

  • "Good place for apps and tapas... Goat cheese was great, oysters really good. And a new twist to caprese salad was good. Chicken and waffles was under whelming.... Go for cocktails and tapas and you won't be dissaponted. "

  • "We truly enjoyed our visit to The Edison. The food was unique, but fantastic. Our server did a great job of walking us through the menu options and explaining what the different dishes were. We did a number of Tapas to share for our table of four as it was our first visit and we wanted to try as many items as possible. Each dish was wonderful and I even enjoyed the Buffalo Cauliflower although I don't eat cauliflower. We then did the desserts, and they were to die for. The butter cake is sinful, and the creme brulee with the sharp cheddar ice cream was unbelievable. We will go back and try other dishes."

  • "This place rocked. First time we sat at a table instead of the bar. Service at the bar is definitely better than the tables. Food was amazing as always, stinks are insanely good, experience was great."
