  • "On walking in, we were greeted by the smell of backed up dishwasher?. Caesar salad was poor; overdressed, old lettuce, and unremarkable flavor. Oil used for tater tots was old. Scallops I ordered had turned and were sent back. I invite anyone thinking about going to this place to have a look at the exhaust fans coming out of the kitchen around back. Service (host and server) was excellent, and server was professional in her handling of the unacceptable food."

  • "My daughter was visiting from Phoenix so we made our reservation. I have been to Edibles several times. I'm happy they can cater to vegetarians with our own menu selections. We were on time but the hostess said we would have to wait which was fine but the dinning room was only half full. We had cocktails at the bar but after almost 15 minutes, I wondered what the delay was. We waited at our table for a while also before we were acknowledged. The server was "over tabled" but they changed servers when they realized this. The vegetarian "sampler" was great although I am still trying to figure out why tatter tots are on there. Our entrees were delicious. Coffee and the bread pudding were a great finish."

  • "Recently took a friend to Edibles for lunch on the recommendation of another friend. Ordered borscht for the soup. Was disappointed that it was not served cold as the soup usually is. Also, it did not have any flavor. Selected the chicken and asparagus salad which was very good. Other than the soup, the meal was very nice."

Outdoor dining with a great street scene or indoor during all seasons. The food is always well presented and adventurous. Mussels appetizer, pork chop and mahi mahi could have been ordinary but we're definitely not. Unfortunately no appetite left for dessert."

  • "Wanted to try something different for a girls night out dinner...food was very good, especially the warm bread. Service was VERY slow. Was quite some time before we were even given water. Had to ask for more bread. Long wait for our drinks and the food. When my friend's side did not come with her dinner they said it could be ready shortly but she just canceled it because she knew it probably wouldn't come until we were done with our meal. I guess we would have been more uunderstanding of all the waiting if it had been busy, but it wasn't. I would give them another try, as it just could have been an off night or short staff. Everyone was friendly, just not attentive to the needs of the table when we were low or out of something."

  • "We were celebrating a college graduation and as we looked around the restaurant we knew we had picked the right place. We had a large party but felt very taken care of (Thanks, Bryant!) our waiter was knowledgeable, kind, and even offered to take our group's picture to mark the moment. The tasty cocktails and delicious food were perfect! A nice variety of appetizers, entrees, and desserts. The graduate and the rest of us were very pleased. If we ever find ourselves in Rochester again we'll definitely be back and we will definitely recommend it to people that we know that travel to the area. Thanks for a great experience!!"

  • "Having been to this restaurant about 5 times now, I can say they are consistent. The food (entrees) are average to below average, especially given the price. The desserts are good and presentation of dessert is nice. It is an OK spot with easy access for friends we meet with often, but I would not recommend this to anyone who is accustomed to fine dining and who is looking for a memorable meal and evening out. Our server was good--attentive, friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. Ambiance is nice but it can get noisy here when the restaurant is busy which makes conversation turn to a shouting match."

  • "My sister and I dined outside at edibles early during the week before a 7pm play at auditorium theatre. We shared the tator tots, crab salad and chicken pancetta pizza. The service was quick and it was nice to be outside. The pizza had too much gorgonzola for our liking so we removed most of it. Nice easy meal and I would be back again."

  • "Online reservation process was easy. Drinks were very good, but had to settle bill before dining. Two specials we saw online and were interested in were not available (at 6:00 p.m.). Two dinners we ordered were excellent; but two (the pork chop special) were less than satisfactory. Wait staff service was excellent. Bar area was comfortable, but dining room was very hot and noisy....not conducive to conversing or lingering for dessert. "

  • "We have dined at Edibles on multiple occasions. We always have a good experience, overall, but there is always a little something missing. This time, it was several menu items. Namely all steak and pork dishes on the menu. We were told they were "transitioning" to a summer menu and, therefore, were not ordering meat that they were out of. At least 4 entrees listed on the menu were not available and the remaining options were very limited. The menus are paper inside a plastic sleeve. How difficult would it be to update and print a new menu while working through this "transition?" Don't get me wrong, the service was wonderful, the food we did order was delicious and the ambiance is very nice. We'll be back, but hope this doesn't happen again."

It is a little pricey; we took our teenagers because of the occasion, but my wife and I would probably return without them. That said, I do not mind the cost if the food is good, and it was excellent. Great atmosphere for couples or a small adult group gathering."

Service was a little slow for a slow night but the food was divine and I was blow way by the presentation. The truffle tots were great and the main entrees where incredible. it feel like I was in a NYC setting but I was in Rochester. A must do for all locals and visitors to the Greater Rochester Area."

Reservations are definitely recommended. It was kind of loud when we went, but that was during a Saturday dinner rush with a couple large groups."

  • "I would recommend this place to anyone. I've been to Edibles a couple of times, and it's always great. Great service, great food (even the vegetarian options - yum!), cool look. Good for a date night. Some of the reviews for this place comment about the pricing or portions, but I think they're fair. It's nice to go out for a dinner and not have to leave with a doggie bag (I always feel bad for the food I leave behind... it's not that I don't love you!...) - it's just enough for me! Prices seem just fine, in my opinion. Especially for what you get. Delish! One time my boyfriend had the crab cake salad. He still talks about those crab cakes."

  • "Just, "yum": Wedge salad (great pungent bleu cheese dressing); crab cakes (the only thing we weren't totally enamored with - not all lump); lobster ravioli (fresh hunks of lobster), flat iron steak (one of the best I've had), succulent chicken with really yummy couscous (a substitution for potatoes, which I don't like); Kobe beef meatloaf with an egg in the center (meatloaf's still meatloaf, no matter how grand); the phyllo-wrapped pear dessert (so much better than it sounded), and the mixed nut caramel tart dessert (be still my heart.) - both desserts came with some of the best vanilla ice cream I've had-I wish I had asked what brand it was. Portions were generous, and the homemade sourdough bread with whipped butter was delish."

  • "My daughter was visiting from Manhattan, so I wanted to bring her someplace that I find to atypical in Rochester. Edibles offers a great ambiance with the background music that reminds me of being in France. The food is fresh and unique - not your typical all you can eat buffet that Rochester seems to love so much. The wine list has a good variety but the reason to go back is the attentive and friendly servers. I think Edibles made an impression on my NYC high end daughter. Can't wait to come back when she is in town again."

The menu was creative yet still had some old favorites. The service was helpful and friendly. Food was very good value. Only disappointment was the cup of decaf coffee which probably had been sitting on the burner too long."
