Edible Canada at the MarketEdible Canada delivers yetEdible Canada delivers yet again… I had the mushrooms on toast from the new lunch menu and can only describe it as amazing culinary experience. Melt in your mouth yumminess washed down with a nice pint of Farmhand beer. All of the above combined with great service and a unique ambiance make this the go to place on the island.12/4/2013 12:00:00 AMI'm never disappointed byI'm never disappointed by the food and service at this restaurant; my only issue would be comfort.... the plastic chairs just aren't comfortable and lower the tone of the place.12/4/2013 12:00:00 AMsome of the most creativesome of the most creative for value meals gna find11/4/2013 12:00:00 AMThe service was excellentThe service was excellent and the seafood soup is a must try. I really enjoyed the cider they have on tap as well. Their pints are huge! For March there is a four course set menu that seems like a great deal for $30. It was quiet there on a Monday night, but I know it isn't always.11/3/2013 12:00:00 AMabsolutely delicious food!!!absolutely delicious food!!! it would be nice if there were more vegetarian options. And the menu had some inaccurate listings of ingredients in some of the dishes so it was a little confusing...but I would definitely go back again...and again!!10/4/2013 12:00:00 AMCompletely FlawlessWhat a fabulous find! Edible Canada is a gem on Granville Island. I have been now five times and it never seises to amaze - other Vancouver restaurants could learn a thing or two here from this team. Menu is inventive and there is always somethjng new to try plus completely flawless service every time! A breath of fresh air for our local dining scene!10/4/2013 12:00:00 AMThe staff at Edible CanadaThe staff at Edible Canada were very accomodating. We had made reservations for 8pm on a Friday night and had to wait about half an hour to get our table because they were so busy. The staff kept coming up to us and apologizing for the delay. When we got our table, we got offered free champagne for the wait. The food was great! We'll be coming here again.8/3/2013 12:00:00 AMCrab Feast on their patioThis place is amazing. We sat on the patio and indulged in our crab feast which was to die for. The staff was friendly and extremely accomodating of our request for things on the side and gluten free options. I would not hesitate to return to this lovely restuarnt. They even had live music on the Tuesday night that we went. Best dining out experience in a while. I've heard their poutine is out of this world which means I'll have to go back to try it.6/11/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat respite/meal to end the dayUsed the Travelzoo for the crab feast and it was wonderful, from the bisque to the feast to the tea and fantastic apple cobbler. Service was very good.6/11/2013 12:00:00 AMUpscale service, good foodUsed a voucher for a set menu, so, can't comment on what all is on the menu, but the bisque was delicious, crabmeat entree for 2 was ample and very healthy followed by an apple cobbler that topped things off nicely.
Service was excellent.
ps.... coffee was great as well, first time for a french press coffee at a restaurant for me.6/10/2013 12:00:00 AMA very pleasant outing on GranvilleEdible Canada
This excellent promotion with Travelzoo caught our kids attention and a birthday gift to my wife and myself followed.
I think Richard our server did such a nice job it made the experience even more memorable.
The menu typical west-coast and local crabmeat was superb.
Edible will be on our list of dining in Vancouver
AEM6/9/2013 12:00:00 AMCozy spotI came here with my family for brunch and was quite impressed with the overall experience. The dishes were well presented and seasoned and the overall vibe of the place was lively. Kudos to French press!6/9/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderful restaurant! We've greatly enjoyed our experience at Edible Canada - the food was delicious, they had an impressive assortment of BC beers and generally seem to incorporate local produce to a great extent. The staff were attentive and pleasant and the atmosphere of the place is nice and vibrant.6/9/2013 12:00:00 AMFun place for family gatherings! We had a large family gathering and we were all very impressed with both the food and the service. The fact that it was extremely reasonably priced was a surprising bonus! I highly recommend this place, and as an added bonus we got 20% off our purchases at the shop for dining there!6/9/2013 12:00:00 AMGood for brunch with mom!Went for brunch on a Sunday and sat on the patio. Was a little chilly even with the heat lamps but they had throws available which was thoughtful. My table ordered the quiche, seafood soup and wild mushroom Benny. Quiche and Benny were tasty but smallish portions left me wanting more. The wild mushrooms were great! Enjoyed the side salad. The seafood soup was a bit rich for my hungover boyfriend but his mom and I finished it off... generous amount of seafood. Service was on point, the waitress was charming and friendly in a casual way without being too over the top. Cocktails were exceptional, though on the pricey side. I had a British Properties, which was like an iced Earl Grey martini... lovely. I'd go again for a special occasion.6/9/2013 12:00:00 AMEdible Canada is a gem. WeEdible Canada is a gem. We couldn't have enjoyed our meal more. Great location at Granville Island, fantastic staff, superb menu. Spot on, we say!6/8/2013 12:00:00 AMConsistently great! The food here is consistently great - both brunch & lunch. This time we were there with a Travelzoo voucher for the crab feast special. Again, food was fantasic - tasty and didn't take forever for the food to arrive. The duck fat frites are the best!6/6/2013 12:00:00 AMMemorable & YummyA fantastic culinary experience.
Though this particular visit was through a Travelzoo voucher, we found the treatment from staff was impeccable, the food was delicious, portions were huge, and the atmosphere was fantastic.
The 3 course crab dinner was beyond memorable, and the restaurant was willing to make some modifications due to allergies.
Definitely returning and not just because I've celebrated a birthday and had a Christmas get together in the past in this location and have not been disappointed.6/5/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent Dining ChoiceThe dinner was a delight. The menu is diverse without being overwhelming. Each dish demands a review of special ingredients and unique recipes from a variety of regions and countries. The fish and the chicken were outstanding; the vegetables were a treat. The duck fried frites were a tasty indulgence. The dessert topped off a meal that was memorable. The waiter took extra time to explain each dish and its origin as well as accommodating each guest's requests with patience. Overall and excellent experience. Can't wait to go back and do it all again.6/4/2013 12:00:00 AMBest dining experienceThe dining experience at Edible Canada is the best one I've had in a very long time. The staff were exceptional - probably one of the best group of people to have serving, and the food was cooked perfectly. We were lucky enough to go on a Tuesday night where they had a live band playing throughout our dinner and that was just the icing on the cake. Who knew Gypsy Jazz paired so well with a crab feast.6/4/2013 12:00:00 AMHands down the best!Hands down the best dining experience we had during our stay in vancouver (and we ate at great restaurants)! Every single part was exceptional!6/4/2013 12:00:00 AMFresh and FriendlyEdible Canada staff made us feel very welcomed from the start, and wanted to make our first visit a great experience! They succeeded on all counts - friendliness and service, quality of food and overall atmosphere. We dined outside on a pleasant evening and enjoyed a wonderful variety of food. I especially enjoyed the curried seared tuna (and although it was a starter, I had it as a main dish) and wonderful bread with salted bacon butter. My husband really liked the Crisp pork belly and shrimp plate - delicious! Our server's delightful personality and impeccable service made for a fantastic dining experience! Highly recommended.6/3/2013 12:00:00 AMWaited and waitedThe food is amazing. Third time visiting this restaurant. My only disappointment was the length in time it took to receive our food.
I realize it's busy and you have to wait for quality food, however, with the patio open, it added way more seats. The chefs were run off their feet.6/1/2013 12:00:00 AMOutstanding food and serviceThe food was fit for foodies. Service was excellent. There was a private party happening at the same time we were there and they had a fabulous private room separated from the main dining area by large glass garage door. It looked perfect for a larger private party. Generally private rooms are hidden away, this one was part of the "action" but wouldn't be disruptive.5/30/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food, great settingThe use of fresh, local ingredients helps make Edible Canada an enjoyable dining experience in the heart of Granville Market. The menu offers a good range of entrees, so there is something for every one. We opted for the Crab feast. The crab bisque was rich without being overwhelming and really hit the spot on chilly rainy evening. The main course was a substantial shared plate of crab and grilled vegetables all of which were expertly prepared. The cobbler dessert hit just the right sweet spot. The food was wonderful and our server was friendly and efficient. This was our first time dining here but it won't be our last.5/29/2013 12:00:00 AMLove everything about Edible CanadaFrom the ease of making reservations, being greeted by friendly hosts, the on-the-ball staff, to delicious food & drinks, and awesome venue itself, this spot is highly recommended. They've been able to accommodate big parties, as well as brunches with kids. We love Edible Canada!5/25/2013 12:00:00 AMWas disappointed they no longerWas disappointed they no longer had a set dinner tasting menu, inclusive of appy, entré and desert. would be wort while to bring back at a $5.00 increased, instead of $30. then $35. Please bring it back!!!5/25/2013 12:00:00 AMHappy Customers! In considering Edible Canada I read the reviews -- some said: food not great, small portions, prices expensive, etc. and so I was ambivalent about making a reservation. We had been to Edible Canada about a year ago and were very satisfied and so I wondered if the quality had decreased! In any case, we decided to revisit this unique restaurant. Our party of four found the prices fair, the portions very adequate, the food excellent and the service outstanding! We will return.5/24/2013 12:00:00 AM"Hurry up, get out"That's what the persistent bass of the "music" said to me as it -- along with the generally loud level of the restaurant--made conversation impossible. Otherwise--it's fine though expensive. I wish there were a 3rd category for "would you recommend": maybe! Maybe . . . if they changed the music, introduced a 25% off happy Hour, etc. As is, I'm not so sure tho I would probably take advantage of a special offer if it were available.5/23/2013 12:00:00 AMDuck Fat Donuts - Need I Say More? And I hear this is going to be the concept for their new take away window launching in early June....duck fat fried donuts slathered with chocolate, salted caramel, bacon and maybe even stuffed with foie gras! I can't wait!!!!!5/22/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderful foods and servicesVery professional yet friendly service, fantastic foods and wine, Tuesday evening live music was also wonderful. Overall we liked this place very much. Highly recommended for family and couple. Try this place, you won't regret it!5/21/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat ExperienceWe used our Travelzoo voucher. We were not disappointed. We came 10mins early for our reservation, but we welcomed and seated just the same. Enjoyed the 3-course crabfest meal for 2. Lots of leftover which we got to pack-up. Got friendly and attentive service from Halley. The ambience was very young and energetic. There was a huge group (10-15 ppl) near us, but it was all good. Had no problems with the white chairs (dont think they are made of plastic). Overall, it was an excellent experience and we got a great deal from Travelzoo. We would have ordered something else if not for the voucher. We would love to go back there and try out other food. Judging from what we saw around us, there are lots of food there that we want to try next time.5/20/2013 12:00:00 AMhot Granville Island seafood spotI had a Travelzoo voucher for a a crab feast for this place, that's how I found it. I was a good find, I have to admit. Thought it is not a fancy environment, the food is very decent. Everything we tried was above average... I would not try the crab feast for the regular price though ($120 for three dishes for two)... Or maybe I would if I can get the dessert replacement :) I found it a little noisy, the music was loud and the choice of music wasn't exactly my thing... So request the seat far from the speaker if you don't want noise. Check the bill carefully because the waiters can't count :)
And yes, we were waiting for the first dish to arrive for 1 hour and 10 min.5/20/2013 12:00:00 AMWow so impressedThis is a very good restaurant! Fresh local tasty food at a reasonable price. Great service and room!5/17/2013 12:00:00 AMWhat an incredible experience! From the food to the cocktails to the service staff, we were blown away! All dishes were thoughtfully prepared with care and the cocktail list is fun and inventive with cute plays on Canadian words! We will be back soon!5/16/2013 12:00:00 AMWOW - So impressed!I was blown away from the moment I walked in the door. This is such a cool place! Everything we tasted was outstanding from the maple bacon caesar to the watercress salad to the steak frites (fries are fried in duck fat and you can add foie gras!!). Price is just right. Service is very attentive and professional, yet casual and fun - lots of high fives here! I cannot wait to go back and take all of my friends. The patio looks awesome for the summer! This is a very busy place though so definitely make a reservation before you go to avoid disappointment.5/16/2013 12:00:00 AMThis place was recommendedI took a friend here who has numerous special food needs and the waitress was a gem, calmly addressing each issue and making sure that all of the food was done to suit her needs. So clearly, the kitchen was quite accommodating as well. My food, which required no alterations was delicious. I had the Spaghetti and Bison Meatballs. I like that there are small or large plates to choose from. Ordering the smaller plate allowed my room to tuck in to a basket of Duck Fat Fries, YUM!5/13/2013 12:00:00 AMSo happy with our first EdibleSo happy with our first Edible Canada experience! Had the salmon dish and chicken dish, both so lovely and thoughtfully put together. Great local ingredients, reasonably priced, and great wine list. Must try!!5/6/2013 12:00:00 AMOnce again Edible Canada showsOnce again Edible Canada shows why it excels above everything else on Granville Island. The fish and chips with wasabi mushy peas was exceptional. The service and ambiance add to the overall experience. I'll definitely be back here for lunch.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMA Hidden GemI don't know why more people havent heard about Edible Canada but then again, its probably just as well that we keep it a secret ! The food and the service are always excellent and the ambiance is a bistro with a regional twist. Definitely worth a visit and I bet you will be back !5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMAMAZING PATIO!!Enjoyed an amazing evening on the patio in the sunshine....one of the best people watching spots in the city of Vancouver, coupled with stunning food and impeccable service. Truly a great find given the casual atmosphere and price points!5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMEverything was great exceptEverything was great except for the fact we wanted our soups before the salad which was supposed to be split as suggested by the server. Food delicious. Great ambiance.5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMInventive and DeliciousThe menu was great. We were a group of three and all of our dishes were outstanding.5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMPerfect!Wonderful service, delicious food, creative presentation. Quick service...very good for Arts Club events5/2/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat meal experience. WeGreat meal experience. We had the crab special which fully met our expectations. Reservation was for 7:15 which was promptly honoured. Waitress was great. A bit noisy (energetic) for elderly diners, but as diners thinned it was fine.5/2/2013 12:00:00 AMEnjoyable Crab FeastWe went in on a Tuesday to use our Travelzoo crab feast experience.
Service was friendly and the front-of-house manager was extremely good although our waiter was quite unattentive.
First course was choice of Heirloom vegetable salad / Crab chowder. While the dish wasn't exactly as advertised, The salad did not have smoked cheddar or maple pecan nuts...the vegetables were great but the salad was flat because it was missing ingredients.
The Chowder was really delicious. The presentation was excellent and the broth was delicious...more of a consomme than a chowder.
The Crab feast was exceptional, the amount of crab meat advertised, great brussel sprouts and sausage. The natural cooking juice was so good. Dessert was coinly sweet and spicy.4/30/2013 12:00:00 AMA very special placeNever ceases to amaze - this is a very professional service team. I love being recognized! The menu is inventive and unique and changes often. Everything I have tasted has way exceeded my expectations. They support all things local and have a great shop as well where I get yummy treats for the theatre!4/29/2013 12:00:00 AMAlbacore Tuna SaladBy far one of the best salads I have ever had in Vancouver - warm sautéed vegetables topped with rare seared albacore, tuna confit and spices - stunning! I can't wait to come back and try more!4/29/2013 12:00:00 AMCasual, affordable, funWhat a cool place! Everything I tasted was delicious from the maple bacon Caesar to the salmon dish and quinoa. Service was impeccable and they even offered to pair wines with our meal! I can't wait to go back.4/29/2013 12:00:00 AMWined & DinedA friend & I were looking for an experience w great food & wine where we could sit, catch up, & indulge. We got all that & more!
From the minute we walked in, the wait staff were very accomodating. They offered to take our jackets, & gave us a lovely place to sit by a window so we could enjoy the early evening sun. Our server, Katie was helpful & knowledgable from the get-go. She answered any questions we had about the food & was able to help us select great wine pairings w each course.
The food was delectable. We had dishes w local seafood such as lingcod & salmon, and my friend had the steak dish as her main which was cooked to perfection. Our wine from their all-Canadian wine list paired excellently w each dish.
Highly recommended!4/29/2013 12:00:00 AM
