Atmosphere good however all salad and appetizers overpriced---Entrees are also pricey and small portions for the price. I had scallops with fettucine and there was very little creativity with it and it was described on the menu as containing ingredients that weren't in mine.

There were 3 in our party. Two had herb encrusted chicken and I had the salmon. They were all great! Also had the cheese tray, banana pudding cheesecake and they were excellent too. We had a Zin for our wine and it was also excellent. I would definitely return to Edgar's. Our server was very good, very timely and very friendly and professional.

The food and the staff are always the best in town. My favorite dining establishment in the CSRA. I have one suggestion. The lighting is a notch or two bright for a pleasant evening out on the town. Turn the lights down a bit and it will do wonders for the ambience.

The service was very good. The food was quite good, although the portions seemed small. There is probably better value available at nearby competitors. We enjoyed the dining experience at Edgar's but are unlikely to be regular customers because of the perceived value compared with other restaurants in the vicinity.

My girlfriend and I were celebrating a special event, and I'd received the Edgar's email about the menu after the remodel. We decided to sit at the bar and eat from the bar menu - tapa-style. We had the empanadas, caprese salad, and jalapeno poppers. Holy Cow! Awesome! We actually ended up ordering a second helping of the jalapeno poppers! All three items were great, and I'm pretty sure the caprese salad will be on our order for every future visit - regardless if we sit in the bar or eat a full meal in the restaurant section. Edgar's nailed it. Go eat there!

This is a great spot and you feel good about eating here because you're helping others just by dining but don't think the food is less than first class. The chicken soup came with a crunchy biscuit nestled in it and the bread, flaky rolls, comes with a flavorful pimento cheese spread, I couldn't get enough of. My entree, halibut over a tangy curry rice, was perfectly cooked. Cannot wait to visit again!

Making the reservation for Edgar's was fast and easy. Upon arrival, the host was very friendly and immediately showed us to our table. Our server was prompt in taking our water and drink order. She was able to answer our questions about the menu and suggest her favorites. My husband's rack of lamb was cooked perfectly and was quite tasty. My salmon was cooked as requested, but may have gotten salted twice in the preparation process. I do like well seasoned food, but this was overly salted. Otherwise the risotto cake and asparagus were great sides.

Up and coming restaurant in Augusta. Not cheap but well worth the price, especially since it helps support Goodwill. Has a nice outside eating area for cooler weather. There were kids there and they were welcome although I don't recall seeing a kids menu. The food was outstanding. Everything was served perfectly and it was more than I could eat. Chef John Pannell does an outstanding job with an eclectic menu. Don't miss this spot.

I have no complaints with how the food was prepared or presented, my issue is with the choices. We ate at Edgar's on Saturday, August 16th. The high temperature that day was 94 degrees, but the entree choices would have made you think we were in late fall or early winter. There was one fish special and one fish regular entree, but all of the others were heavy cold weather food, plus they were all served with heavy side dishes. At a time of year when summer squash, tomatoes, cucumbers, and eggplant are plentiful, why there were not seasonal sides is beyond me.

The food was expertly prepared, the wine list was very intelligent, and the staff was both friendly and knowledgeable. There is a lot of good food in this area, but Edgar's is one of very few restaraunts that would attract even the D.C. foody crowd. Superb attention to detail in all areas made this the best dining experience we have had in quite a while, right down to the acoustics that make it easy to have a conversation. As a bonus, Carston, the bartender, makes some of the most interesting and delicious cocktails in the area, and is also very wine knowledgeable. If you are considering a very nice night out, I would highly recommend Edgar's.

The staff are friendly and happy to accommodate in all areas. Not as informed as should be on history of business. The menu, although written well, was not followed through with actual item as described. They were out of many items and that had been a warning to us by others who have gone there previously. We had an appetizer, 2 entrees, a side dish and a bottle of wine. It was around $120. w/out tip. Not out of line w/other fine dining places just not as good as was expected. We will go back and hope food gets closer to expectations.

Have had Sunday bruch here often and love it. This occasion was my daughter's birthday so we had dinner. The Service is outstanding. The food beyond expectation and just a bit on the 'not ordinary' fare. I don't object to the cost, knowing that this a training ground for young people who may not otherwise have such an opportunity to learn and make advancement for their future. I only have one complaint. The chairs are wooden, no padding, and become a bit uncomfortable after sitting for a long time.

This was our second time eating at Edgar's. The staff is great! Friendly and helpful. They are great about accommodating special dietary requests. The first time we had several "starters"--all of which were great--and the Salmon for our "entree"--also great. This last time we decided to try dessert which turned out to be a disappointment. We had the pecan pie and peach cobbler. The presentation on both was beautiful but both were too sweet and the cobbler was just peaches in sauce with a little brown sugar mixture on top. I would definately recommend Edgar's...just skip the dessert or order ice cream, you can't mess up ice cream.

We had dinner at Edgar's Grill earlier this week and were both disappointed. I ordered a plain, medium well burger. Unfortunately, it was medium rare and came with cheese. The herb chicken was difficult to eat due to the size and the cut of the chicken. We considered ordering the peach cobbler only to see it was peaches on some sort of thin pastry. Not what anyone would call peach cobbler. The dessert we ordered was called banana pudding, but was anything but. It had bits of yellow cake, banana pudding and whipped cream. The descriptions on the menu need to be more accurate. I'm not picky, I'd just like to get what I order. I decided I didn't want to make a scene with the server, so we just ate what we could and left.

While presentation is very important, taste is even more important. Restaurant food should not be so bland that it tastes like hospital food. The accompaniment should also taste great. The three who had roasted potatoes on their plates complained about how chewy and obviously re-warmed they were, so the chef should take a hint when all three plates still had potatoes practically untouched. I ordered the pappardelle dish, the pasta was stuck together and gummy as it needed extra liquid and olive oil and a touch of paprika or some other herb for color. All in all, it's a nice place to go to in Augusta. I keep booking tables and introducing new friends to this place, we all have traveled to many states and other countries, we know our foods.

We had heard mixed reviews from our friends (about 10 in all including couples), so we expected the worse. We don't always expect a restaurant to be perfect, but we were really shocked at how well the experience went from start to finish. The craft beer selection is awesome as is the wine list. Our complimentary bread and pimento cheese dish is a new favorite. We had the french onion soup and my had the blue cheese-ish wedge salad. The takeaway there for both of us was the flavors were well balanced. Not overly spiced. I had the filet mignon with purple potato au gratin. The au gratin was was the best thing I have eaten in a long while. We had a side of grilled mushrooms that were amazing as well. We will bring friends next time.
