  • "Several major items on menu for a Saturday night were not available. Presentation was poor. Chicken was very bland. Seafood pasta served with heads still on Prawns and eyes and tenacles.Prawns were empty! Very few people were dining. I would not go back"

  • "This was our second time eating at Edgar's. The staff is great! Friendly and helpful. They are great about accommodating special dietary requests. The first time we had several "starters"--all of which were great--and the Salmon for our "entree"--also great. This last time we decided to try dessert which turned out to be a disappointment. We had the pecan pie and peach cobbler. The presentation on both was beautiful but both were too sweet and the cobbler was just peaches in sauce with a little brown sugar mixture on top. I would definately recommend Edgar's...just skip the dessert or order ice cream, you can't mess up ice cream."

  • "We had dinner at Edgar's Grill earlier this week and were both disappointed. I ordered a plain, medium well burger. Unfortunately, it was medium rare and came with cheese. The herb chicken was difficult to eat due to the size and the cut of the chicken. We considered ordering the peach cobbler only to see it was peaches on some sort of thin pastry. Not what anyone would call peach cobbler. The dessert we ordered was called banana pudding, but was anything but. It had bits of yellow cake, banana pudding and whipped cream. The descriptions on the menu need to be more accurate. I'm not picky, I'd just like to get what I order. I decided I didn't want to make a scene with the server, so we just ate what we could and left."

  • "I ordered the surf and turf, the pawn was still raw on the inside and had to be sent back. The pawn was re cooked correctly and the dinner was comped."

  • "Go to Edgar's all the time and now on Thursday evenings too - they have live music and discounts that make it a "must stop" on a Thursday. Music starts at 6:30 and ends at 10:00 p.m."

  • "While presentation is very important, taste is even more important. Restaurant food should not be so bland that it tastes like hospital food. The accompaniment should also taste great. The three who had roasted potatoes on their plates complained about how chewy and obviously re-warmed they were, so the chef should take a hint when all three plates still had potatoes practically untouched. I ordered the pappardelle dish, the pasta was stuck together and gummy as it needed extra liquid and olive oil and a touch of paprika or some other herb for color. All in all, it's a nice place to go to in Augusta. I keep booking tables and introducing new friends to this place, we all have traveled to many states and other countries, we know our foods."

  • "We went there for birthday/anniversary celebration. Was not disappointed with the service and food choices. The wild game chili/stew was out of this world!! Have not had one bad thing here yet...."

  • "We were seated immediately, which was great... brought my Dad for Fathers day, first time for my family (not me). service was very slow, food (steaks) not cooked to order, may have been a little upscale for my Dad and brother... we will try again."

  • "The server staff seems to be consistently well-trained and polite. I really like the way they treat me every time I go there. I like them for lunch and dinner and they do pretty well with larger groups."

  • "We had heard mixed reviews from our friends (about 10 in all including couples), so we expected the worse. We don't always expect a restaurant to be perfect, but we were really shocked at how well the experience went from start to finish. The craft beer selection is awesome as is the wine list. Our complimentary bread and pimento cheese dish is a new favorite. We had the french onion soup and my had the blue cheese-ish wedge salad. The takeaway there for both of us was the flavors were well balanced. Not overly spiced. I had the filet mignon with purple potato au gratin. The au gratin was was the best thing I have eaten in a long while. We had a side of grilled mushrooms that were amazing as well. We will bring friends next time."

  • "We have been looking for a good brunch on Sundays for after church. This area lacks a lot of choices, but finding Edgars may have solved that problem. We found the restaurant from a recommendation, and have enjoyed our meals. This past Sunday we tried their brunch and came away satisfied and looking at a return dinner experience."

  • "First time at Edgar's Grille, we were pleased to see the menu items. Not overwhelming, but substantially gratifying for a ranging palate. Dishes with venison and bison charge the imagination as these are not commonly found in restaurants. Overall, the experience was very pleasing, with a friendly attitude from the receptionist to the waiters. Definitely on our list to return...."

  • "We enjoyed our dinner. The meal was very good and the service friendly and excellent. Our only objection was the noise level. We still had a good time."

  • "Our party had 6 and enjoyed happy hour in the bar and then dinner. We all enjoyed the food although service was slow. Our waitress came to inquire about our orders and then would leave for a considerable amount of time. With so few in the restaurant when we were first seated, I would have thought she would be more attentive. She was polite though and when we informed her that it was my husband' s birthday she brought the dessert menu for his complimentary dessert. I loved the small plate lamb chops I ordered and my husband said his scallops were some of the best he's eaten anywhere. We enjoyed the calamari and the dipping sauce was excellent. Overall a great experience. "

  • "Had reservations for Mother's Day brunch. Sat right away. Excellent service. It was a buffet style brunch. Food was very good. Dinner and regular brunch is better, but enjoyed it. "

  • "Overall dining experience was probably the worst we've experienced at Edgar's. This is not our first time there, so we expected a lot more than we got on Saturday night. The food server was okay. The she-crab soup was excellent with the sherry. The carpaccio duo was so-so, but the bourbon salmon was dried out. We really should have sent the entrees back, but we were just ready to go at that point, so our server boxed it up. The best part of the evening was at the bar waiting for a table. The bartender was very busy, but made amazing cocktails!"

  • "This restaurant was awesome! I made a reservation for my wife and I's anniversary and they didn't disappoint! The restaurant was busy and we weren't seated exactly on our reservation time but it was an experience! They make you feel at home and very special! The fish tacos and she crab soup were perfect and I got the filet mignon which was cooked to perfection, honestly the best steak I've ever had! Definitely will be going back!"

  • "My wife and I visited Edgar's Grille for the first time and it proved to be a wonderful date night for us. While the entire menu looked really great, we were both drawn to the strong assortment of appetizers. That evening the restaurant was offering a special - a half-priced appetizer with each wine or cocktail ordered. We ordered four appetizers and all were delicious! The lamb chops were cooked perfectly, the fried green tomatoes were wonderfully seasoned and crisp, the seared scallops were amazing, and the bison tacos were so flavorful and tender. Our server was attentive, friendly and very helpful, as was the entire wait staff who assisted her throughout the evening. The live jazz capped off a great first time at Edgar's Grille."

  • "Our first dinner visit was enjoyable. The service was great (Jasmine) and the food was quite good. I would try to improve on two items. First, the noise level was very high even though the restaurant was only half full. It was hard to hear the server speaking and hard to hear the person siting directly across the table from me. The other three people at our table said the same thing. Secondly, the table chairs were not comfortable. I even got a leg cramp during dinner which is an all time first."

  • "Food was great - food presentation was very attractive...server was wonderful! We had a party of six and everyone enjoyed their meals - from appetizer thru dessert. We were not rushed and allowed to enjoy each other's company while we ate. Great time!"

  • "What a find, especially since it's in a shopping plaza. The food is noted as including "southern charm" and I can't wait to go back now! I had the white sangria (light and refreshing), scallop appetizer (3 large sea scallops) and had to have the bison burger! Let's just say I didn't leave anything on my plate. There was a live singer playing current covers on this Thursday evening and is was a very enjoyable visit. Would go again the next time I'm in town."

  • "We have heard great thing about Edgar's and have wanted to try the food for some time. Stepping unto the restaurant, we could not believe this place was in Augusta. The layout, ambience, and menu felt like something out of a high class resort. We started at the bar with a bottle of Cab and the Bison Tacos. We ordered the Colorado Rack of Lamb and Venison Scaloppini for our entrees and fished off our evening with Orange Scented Beignet! From start to finish, our evening was outstanding! The bar selection was fantastic covering a range of prices and had a very nice top shelf! The wine list included some of our favorite Cabs! The service was friendly and our bartender and server were outstanding! And the food...we WILL be back...soon!"

  • "My husband felt his pizza was dry and I would have to agree, his salad was very good. My shrimp poboy was very good, the french fries were also very good. The tea was good, but it needed more ice. (felt like it had not had a chance to cool, I did ask for more ice) Only near the end did they ask if we wanted more tea. The computer was not working so I had to go to there station to read my total and sign to pay my bill. All in all I was disappointed and I wanted to love it because I really like the philosopy of giving back to the community. I will try it again before I tell friends it was not up to par. I would say overall it was good but not great."

  • "While we dine or lunch often at Edgar's Grille, Easter Brunch was not what this restaurant is noted for. We were two couples for 1:00PM reservations, seated promptly, but the food was cold, the shrimp and grits were so cold the grits stuck to the spoon and impossible to dish out, all the buffet food was cold and everyone around us complained about the same thing. They ran out of the roast beef, waited for it for about 20 minutes only to find it so raw, it was at a dangerous level of cold meat. The gravy had hardened fat floating to the top, I told the server the gravy was cold, he answered: "no it's hot," he proceeded to test it with his gadget and admitted it was cold. They need to do better with brunch, before Mother's Day for sure. "

  • "The brunch was good, but not what I expected for an Easter brunch. Food was good, but not as good as when ordering from menu, I guess buffets are just more difficult. I will go back for dinner, but probably not for a brunch. Service was good, as always. Glad to have this little restaurant in our area."
