A word from Edendale
Edendale is open 7 nights a week for dinner, wine and cocktails. We also serve Sunday Brunch from 11am until 3pm. We feature an exciting cuisine called "Comfort fusion", which is a blend of comfort foods from around the world (especially western Europe, eastern Asia and the southern part of North America). It's the best feel-good foods that people everywhere love.

The restaurant is located within a restored firehouse that was originally built in 1924. We have a separate full bar and large outdoor patios for drinks or dining. We specialize in excellent service and quality food.

No animals are permitted, except certified service animals (seeing eye, etc, NOT therapy animals) with ID and appropriate vest.

Edendale is located in Silver Lake, close to Hollywood, Glendale, Downtown, Pasadena, Los Feliz, Eagle Rock and Echo Park. We look forward to serving you!

  • "It's an old firehouse. It's a fantastic venue. I love the food and the atmosphere. A real LA gem."

  • "Great meal! Loved the pork chops and ox tail entree! Cauliflower side was delish...Comfort food heaven!"

  • "Loved everything about this place except that you have to walk through the very crowded hipster filled bar area which takes up the entire back of the restaurant to get to the bathroom which itself leaves a lot to be desired. The bar area wreaks as well, don't know if they were having plumbing problems the night we went but it was a very unpleasant experience. The front was perfect, beautiful, quiet, and smelled only like delicious food and wine so as long as you stay up there and don't need to use the restroom your night will remain unscathed! However if a jumping bar scene is what you're looking for you've found it here in the back. It was packed!"

  • "The food and service was amazing. Definitely a foodie place with a great bar scene or outdoor dinning. Loved the Salmon and the Ox tail is supposed to be great from what we smelled and saw...Will try the next time"

  • "Loved this restaurant. The ceviche is fantastic and so unique. Substantial pours on wine by the glass. Very interesting and creative menu and very friendly staff. Highly recommend it!"

  • "Enjoyed the food but honestly the star here was the service. Everyone was great. Our server was fantastic."

  • "-Food was good but for portions are a bit small for the price range - street parking was easy - patio was good size but no real view of anything / no real atmosphere - 7:30 dinner for 6 with 2 kids ...by 10:30 everyone was antsy waiting on waitress for the check - took way too long to get the check ..."

  • "Eating out front on the patio was very enjoyable on a summer evening and the food was delicious! The waiter was very attentive at first but once we received our food we didn't see her until she brought the bill, even though we were interested in another drink and desert. Overall, good experience at Edendale."

  • "Edendale Grill and the attached Mixville bar, is a place I highly recommend. The outdoor patio is so pleasant, as is the dining room. This former firehouse converted into this combo, hits the mark on many levels. The bar has a sophisticated, yet casual vibe, with an art-deco style to it. and a rear patio, great for group gatherings and smokers. The food is generally good, the atmosphere and feel of the place are way above average. One of my favorite Silverlake spots"

  • "Very good. But my friend's a vegetarian and we had to put together a mix and match dinner from appetizers, etc. Would be nice if there were a couple of simple pasta dishes for a main course."

  • "The food really sucks beyond belief! And it is so overpriced it's nuts!"

  • "One of the things I love about Silverlake is all the fabulous little eateries around the neighborhood. This is one of Silverlake's gems. Every trip to The Edendale is a delicious and delightful experience. This time around I tried their Vol-au-Vent. Puff pastry filled with tender beef short rib, pasta, mushrooms, peas, shallots, balsamic caramelized onions, with a dijon-worcestershire glaze, and a cream/butter whip. Our server called it "Heaven on a plate" and she did not lie. The Edendale is established in a former fire house. Great ambience and friendly staff. A Silverlake treasure to be sure. Yes.... I really like the place :-)"

  • "The calamari was the toughest I've eaten at any restaurant. My girlfriends beet salad was edible but oddly constructed. The shrimp and polenta, which is apparently a signature dish, was mediocre at best. The shrimp were overcooked, the polenta was hard and the sauce was underwhelming. My girlfriend didn't even eat her tacos they were so bad. There are so many amazing restaurants in LA why waste your time on this one? "

  • "The location and building of Edendale are both interesting and it may have it's act together better in the evening scene. We went with our son and his girlfriend (on his recommendation) for a late Sunday brunch. It was next to empty at 2:00 p.m and the staff seemed to be napping but eventually they came around and took our orders from a limited and not very interesting brunch menu. The food was OK but nothing to get excited about. On the other hand, the prices were reasonable. I would have been willing to pay more, however, in this location if the food was a bit more exciting and with more variety."

  • "We went to Edendale to celebrate a birthday alfresco and it was everything it was promised to be -- great food, fun historic location, sumptuous cocktails and attentive but not overly fussy service. A real gem. "

  • "We've been to Edendale with only adults and also with children and the service is always consistently great. The staff treat all customers, young and "old" with respect. "

  • "Great ambiance in this old refurbished firehouse. A vibrant bar and outdoor courtyards and still quiet enough to enjoy conversation. "

  • "I love this place. The food is great, the location adorable, and the servers are very sweet. The cocktails are yummy! Just beware that if you sit on the wooden bench in the front patio area, your clothing may suffer. It needs to be sanded BADLY -- I snagged my dress in two places. :-( I should have mentioned it to the server but I really didn't want to dampen our evening."

  • "The food selection is interesting, very American New. My only complaint was service was a bit slow. It seemed like it took a solid amount of time before the food came out. It also took awhile to get our check. The outdoor patio is great though. They had heat lamps available and the water fountain in the front created a great atmosphere."

  • "We came here for my husband's birthday and had a great experience. Our server was amazing and all of the bussers and other servers we came in contact with were so friendly. The food was great, though they don't have a very large selection. They have a great wine list with plenty of reasonably priced options. I think we've found our new special occasion spot."

  • "Was going to the Echo Theater and needed a good place to eat beforehand. What a great find. Great cocktails and yummy food. The small plate shrimp in adobo sauce on a bed of polenta was not so small. The hangar stead delicious and the bread pudding with vanilla ice cream just made us all smile."

  • "Met my friend's for dinner. It was difficult to find as I am not from the area. Former firehouse. Get interior with many, many rooms. Food was good, not great. My salad dressing had no flavor at all. Beet salad with wasabi looked and tasted great. Friends had puff pastry with braised shortribs in it. Said it was very good. I tasted and thought it rated a good. Big selection from appetizers, to small plates, hamburger, salads, main courses. Bread pudding was outstanding. Peanut butter/chocolate dessert was way to rich. Just one bite could do you in."

  • "Nice place, reasonably good food, and nice people, but our service was, unfortunately, really truly terrible. It took them 40 minutes to get our order, brought us food that had been sitting for too long, and took them almost an hour to get us our meal."

  • "After dealing with the busy traffic on Rowena, I wasn't in the best mindset walking into Edendale. No matter - the host was so welcoming and genuine that I immediately began to relax. Nice cozy table, and our server was perfect, didn't rush or ignore us, made suggestions. The short rib salad is actually a salad - didn't think that was possible - with perfectly spiced short rib under the greens. Wine list was well priced, and cocktails were creative. We were a bit disappointed by the pork tacos, not enough spice on the meat itself, but our server was happy to bring us sriracha when we asked. Make sure you have dessert - the bread pudding is beyond amazing!"

  • "You couldn't find more gracious and generous service anywhere! And the food is delicious. My menu faves are the Fried Calamari (quite possibly the tastiest anywhere), and the Salmon. Not fancy decor, but nice, comfy atmosphere. Business was booming every time I've been there -- for good reason, I'd say."

  • "Took a date here for Valentine's Day and was very pleased. The building is really great. A bit dark inside but it created a good vibe. The food was great (I got the Prime Hanger Steak and my date got the Shetland Salmon). The portions were good as well. Filling but not too much food and the prices were very fair (our dinner and and a glass of wine were under $80)."

  • "The meal we had at Edendale was amazing. My partner had the paneer pasta which he loved and I had the hanger steak which was one of the better steaks I'd had in a long time. Cooked perfectly med rare. We followed it up with the apple pastry desert which was topped with vanilla ice cream and honey. It was delicious. I'm not usually a big desert person but i kinda wanted to stab him with my spoon so I could have more. Oh and it's a very romantic place."

  • "This place serves a lot of purposes: it's a cool atmosphere for dinner without being pretentious if you have out-of-town friends, it's romantic if you're going on a date, it's fun if you want to meet friends for drinks and maybe get some food, it's classic enough you could take mom and dad. It's hard to straddle so many worlds, but Edendale does it beautifully and I applaud them for it."

  • "Really nice spot for couples or a group of friends. The inside was a bit loud so next time I will opt to sit outside. The food was very good I had seared ahi and the risotto. Our service could have been better but over all I would go back to this converted fire station for a great meal."

  • "My boyfriend and I had dinner at Edendale NYE. When we tried to pay the bill my bf gave them his Visa for payment they came back and said it was declined. He gave them another card to run & the waitress said it was also declined. My bf gave her all of his cash and I gave the waitress my cc for the balance. After we left he was upset but ok. We checked online to discover that both cards had gone through. So we paid our check 3 times. My bf was embarassed & angry for the rest of the night. 2014 was the worst NYE I've ever had. We called Edendale daily for the last 4 days & neither of us has received a return call. I want an apology. They ruined what should have been a very special night and have shown great negligence since."

  • "It was my first time at Edendale, and what impressed me above all was the service. My party of five arrived late -- awfully close to closing time -- and the hostess and server couldn't have been more gracious, reassuring, and accommodating. We got our starters and mains no problem, but we would have appreciated it if they had warned us that the dessert order would have had to be put in at the outset as well. So, unfortunately we missed out on that (and it was a double birthday party too). Aside from that glitch -- our bad for being so late anyway -- we unanimously agreed that the food was spectacular, the ambiance was fun, and the service was excellent."

  • "First impression was "Yes!" Cool decor with old framed photos and a chandelier, perfect romantic lighting, tons to look at. The bar is beautiful. It is a bit loud - "energetic" if you will, but not too bad. We had a very romantic dinner, the service was fantastic (Jason rocks) and the food was amazing. My favorites were the Wasabi Beat Salad and the Salmon. We will definitely be back!"

  • "Love this place. Super tasty small plates that really aren't that small. Several different rooms with various groovy vibes. There's a short rib stacked thing- tower? salad? can't exactly recall - but it's amazing!"
