A word from Eddie's House
It’s comfortable, but boasts a menu that expands your boundaries. It’s eccentric, but offers the famous fares that made Eddie Matney Arizona’s celebrity chef. It is the hot new restaurant, perfectly positioned in the middle of the high-style Old Town dining district. It is evolved, but fresh and innovative. It is simple, but complex, savory and delightful. It is a place to bring her for your first date, or show off your first baby, or celebrate your silver anniversary.Continued

Diner Reviews
  • "Food was great, loud music so difficult to read the Seder out loud."

  • "Even though we could not use our Groupon, our server was fantastic and was a main reason we stayed to dine. The food was excellent"

  • "Always enjoy dining at Eddie's House! We started with drinks and appetizers at the bar and Danny is always cheerful and ready with fun drink recommendations. Dined on the outside patio and enjoyed dinner as always. Eddie was "in the house" and love the way he works the room to check in with diners while running the kitchen."

  • "We have dined at Eddie's House many times. The food has always been very tasty and consistent in it's quality. The service however was not up to it's usual standard. Our waiter was pleasant and knowledgeable about the menu. He just seemed too busy to pay enough attention to our needs. For instance we gave up our forks with our salad plates and we had to ask for new ones after our entrée`s were delivered. We had to ask for bread. We had coffee after dinner and the coffee was cold. We also had to ask for our check after waiting a very long time. It seemed the restaurant was understaffed for a Saturday night."

  • "We enjoyed our food, and appreciated half size portions on the menu we could mix and match, but our waitress looked not happy to be there - cutlery was missing, drink order was odd (my son ordered ginger ale, but rather than tell us they didn't have any, they mixed sprite with cola, and only after my son said there was something wrong with his ginger ale, she told us they didn't have any and that's how you make ginger ale - he had a similar challenge at another restaurant - is it possible there is no ginger ale in Scottsdale?). In general the food is very savoury, and even a light dish like East meets West will have strong flavours from cheese and soya sauce. Nice location is Old Scottsdale."

  • "Found Eddie's House on Open Table and decided to try it one Saturday night. So glad we did try it. I had the vegetarian main dish -- they graciously held the green beans (which I don't love) and did a major substitution of lots of different and delicious vegies. Others had the meatloaf which they too loved. The bread served with blue cheese butter was yummy. The waiter was fun and attentive.. And we ate on the patio which I would recommend. Lovely patio, spacious and comfortable. Do go and do enjoy!"

  • "Lamp chop appetizer was excellent. Sara our server was top notch."

  • "The menu is not traditional. However, everything we ordered was outstanding. The waiter recommended the appetizer, which was a flat bread. He was so right! Then we ordered the bacon meatloaf, which was awesome as well. I really can't recommend a restaurant that would exceed my expierience at Eddie's."

  • "If you have not been to Eddie's, you are missing out on great food, service, atmosphere, etc. Eddie does a great job training his chefs and staff - the entire experience is consistently great!"

  • "Very good restaurant for seniors. Ample selection of half portions and the outside dining is quiet."
    Dined on 3/13/2014
  • "Great food and I especially like the option of ordering half portions. I'm not aware of a restaurant of this caliber who does that. I had the east meets west with ahi tuna and halibut,, each in perfectly sized portions with wonderful textures & flavors. Everything on the plate was delicious! Eddie is a friendly chef/owner who does his best to make his guests feel welcome. It was a very busy night so it was rather noisy but still worth the experience."

  • "Food was excellent, service was even better. We ate outside and it was very nice. Indoor seating seems a little crowded, and the open kitchen, while interesting to see, isn't appropriately vented. We'll be back. Enjoyed the overall experience."

  • "Eddie's house has it all: great food, atmosphere, wine list, martinis, ambience and friendly staff. Always a favorite."

  • "Food came out wrong- We had to send it back to be re-cooked. Waiter offered a comp. dessert - it also came out wrong, but I ate it anyway."

  • "I have always loved Eddie's food and enjoyed the atmosphere of his establishments. We ate here on a Saturday night, it was busy, but we were seated immediately a little after 8 pm. Our main complaint was that it took a very long time to get our food--after our appetizer we were still hungry and kept waiting for our entree to appear. Our waitress appeased us by bringing the bread basket which we had seen others receive before they ate anything, and we finally got our entrees after 9 pm. We had the lamb chop appetizer which was perfect as always, and we each got a 1/2 portion of the East Meets West. The food was all very tasty, the ahi was cooked great, but the halibut was dry. Other than that, we enjoyed our meal and we will be back."

  • "Eddie's House is truly Eddie's house. You can tell by the great food and service that he takes great pride in delivering perfection every time. The same way anybody would do entertaining in their own home. Eddie frequently roams the restaurant talking to the patrons and he even personally delivered our mussel appetizer which was outstanding. One of the best in the valley!"

  • "Restaurant is great for a date night. We went here to try something new. Service was excellent and the meals were great. The servers were very helpful and knowledgeable as well."

  • "We had the meat loaf and the sea bass on the half plates. Perfect for two seniors! No leftovers and beautifully prepared. My wife, the sea bass expert, couldn't stop talking about her fish. Very nice evening with excellent service."

  • "Our Valentine's Day dinner wasn't nearly as special as we hoped it would be. Eddie's brought in extra tables to accommodate more diners. While understandable, service wasn't as personal as should be expected from a top restaurant and the food was only good, not great. Our entrees were very good (my wife had the salmon and I had the "what's in this steak"). The appetizers were merely okay. We both had the mozzarella salad; it was good. Perhaps they kitchen, like the wait staff was overworked."

  • "We had reservations at 7pm at Eddie's House on Valentine's Day. Our dinner was amazing, the quality of food is wonderful! We loved the ambience, and the decor of the restaurant is warm and charming. The only unfortunate part of our Valentine's dinner was our server. She was not pleasant at all, and left us for most of the night. It wasn't a good feeling to be ignored by our server, especially when we noticed her paying attention to the larger tables around us."

  • "The place was busy and although I had reservations there was a wait due to a couple of large parties, but the staff, including Eddie, kept us informed about getting tables cleared so we never felt that we were ignored. When seated we were served in good time, the food was good and the atmosphere was a lot of fun. Eddie was always moving through the tables making sure things were okay. For us it was a very good experience and I would certainly take my lady back there"
    Dined on 2/15/2014
  • "I decided to try a restaurant neither of us had been to so I picked Eddie's House. The Valentine's menu looked excellent, so we both ordered off the special menu. The food was outstanding, the wine we selected was excellent and the staff did an excellent job of accomodating our requests. I would highly recommend Eddie's House for any occasion."

  • "Eddie's House is the perfect restaurant for anyone who enjoys great food at a reasonable price. One of the true hidden gems in the area."

  • "We decided to try Eddie's House for and early Valentines Day dinner. They had rented extra tables for outdoor dining. At first, I was worried. The table wasn't very stable. Our waiter saw the problem and made some adjustments to the base; still a bit shakey, but much better. We ordered items from both the Valentines Day menu and the regular menu. Everything was very good. The wait staff was attentive without being overbearing. It was a perfect night to sit outside. The noise level was moderate, but not bad. The bill was a bit pricy for the ratings that were given, but it was a holiday reservation and it was a wonderful experience. We will likely keep Eddies House in mind for special occasions."

  • "The minute we entered the restaurant we smelled smoke and burnt food. They sat us by the open kitchen and we asked to be moved. There wasn't a good spot in the restaurant. You could see that the hoods were not venting properly. In addition the plush seats were gefilte with grease. We ordered drinks and apps. The chorizo mushrooms were as big as a button. We decided to leave and finish ourselves elsewhere. Don't go unless you want a dry cleaning bill to get the smell out of your clothes."

  • "The food was decent, as was the service. However, there is definitely a need for something to be done to the ventilation system. The whole restaurant was smoky from the various foods being prepared in the kitchen. It saturates your clothing and hair to the point that I came home to launder my clothing right away and take a shower to rid myself of the food odors clinging to me. I won't be back."

  • "We had family guests in town last weekend and wanted to have a special dinner prior to their departure back to the midwest. We scheduled a reservation on Open Table which was so easy and quick. We showed up right on time and our table was waiting for us. Hostess was very friendly and welcoming, Waiter was prompt, funny and very nice. We ordered salads, Eddie's famous meatloaf and what's in this steak as well as a burger and salmon. All of the food was exceptional. Eddie's sauces are magical and add a flavor explosion unlike any other. We highly recommend Open Table and Eddie's House for a great dining experience."

  • "Have been going to Eddie's for many years, and his food continues to remain fresh and vibrant....The special on Saturday, smoked tenderloin with all the fixings, was superb!!....My son was in town and we were celebrating his birthday....Eddie was most cordial, and took the time to say a special hello......We always take out of town visitors to Eddie's, and have never once been disappointed....Thanks!"

  • "Four meals deemed mediocre but nothing special including the ordinary apple dessert."

  • "Eddie's food is always tasty withour being overpowering. His combinations are novel, interesting and beautiful to look at. Some plates are available in smaller portions. Bsides the old favorites nightly specials are fun to try"

  • "We sat at the chef's table, which is a 6-person counter on the edge of the kitchen that allowed us to watch the chefs preparing the meals. A novel and great experience for us. Appetizers, entrees, dessert were outstanding, each enhanced with delicious sauces and garnish. The presentation is outstanding,"

  • "Fabulous time at Eddie's House. Having Eddie there, barking out instructions in his kitchen, sharing the experience with his wife and daughter Gabriella who were also working, was terrific. Great seeing talented people at work. And the food was incredible. Thanks Eddie for having us over to your House!"

  • "As out-of-towners searching for a place to eat on Christmas Eve, we found website descriptions of Eddie's House and it sounded promising. Indeed, it was. We had to wait a few minutes, having arrived on time for our reservation, as it was full, but the wait wasn't long and the staff was very pleasant. We tried several items off the special menu (including shrimp cocktail in a very spicy "atomic" sauce and a very tasty prime rib). Service was pleasant and professional; not especially speedy, but that was fine, as we enjoyed the chance to chat and enjoy the experience. Would have to try other things from the interesting-sounding menu before making any overall recommendation, but we certainly enjoyed our evening there and would go back."

  • "Overall we loved the restaurant. Only complaint was that when we arrived early they sat us in the bar area and then forgot all about us. We had to go back to the receptionist area and let them know we were there. At that point, they told us they were full and wanted to seat us outside which we specifically told them when we made our reservation we did not want. At that point we were a little confused about having a reservation at all. However, after about five minutes, they straightened everything out and sat us in the dining room. After that, everything was wonderful."

  • "They start you off with above average bread with irresistible blue cheese butter and delicious pistou sauce. We tried the chicken lollipops and they were awesome plump juicy and tasty. I had the Chermoula Roasted Sea Bass that only comes with Candied Lemon Broccoli. It was delicious and cooked to perfection but I thought it was a bit pricy for what I got ($40.00). But my husbands prosciutto wrapped Filet with big chunks of Lobster risotto and brussels sprouts salad was a big delicious really good plate. We tried a homestyle Apple Cobbler and it tasted very home made."
