  • "This was our third time dining at Eddie V's, and our expectations were high as we have had wonderful past experiences here. The food was not as amazing as I remembered. We ordered an assortment of oysters in the half shell from the east coast. They were not as sweet as usual and I had to remove tiny pieces of shell that were left behind in the meat of the oyster. We also had the beef tartar appetizer, which was ground rather fine (I prefer my tartar in very small chunks) and not seasoned very well. The worst part of the experience was the location in which we were seated, in a room in the back, away from the main dining area with large windows that were open. I was anticipating a dark, romantic atmosphere with music and candles."

  • "Went here for our anniversary and the food was delicious! We opted for the HRW menu to help the food bank and it was a great choice. Food was delicious and temparture of the food was perfect. They even gave us a happy anniversary card and all the employees signed it, we thought this was really cool of them. Oh yeah I almost forgot to mention that they had a live band playing Jazz and that just made the night awesome!"

  • "My group of four came to celebrate a birthday and had a blast! We took our time eating our amazing starters and had phenomenal main courses. Our waiter was fantastic (John or Joe)! We were never left wanting or needing anything. The cherry on top of the Sundae was the excellent attention given to the birthday boy. Not only did he receive a card from the entire Eddie V's staff, but the entire table was given a very large, flaming bananas foster cake to share. Thank you for a wonderful dining experience!"

  • "After excellent reviews I booked our 31st wedding anniversary at Eddie V's and made notes from the reviews. Indeed the table was strewn with rose petals albeit not in a heart shape as stated in all the reviews.However the table was set for 6 people which was VERY awkward considering it was an anniversary celebration with reservations for 2 people. I requested Roberto as the reviews said he was outstanding. I even received a confirmation phone call hours before our reservation stating our requests including Roberto but we got Roger who was very friendly but NOT attentive at all! The worst was the cognac peppercorn tenderloin, it was disgusting. Thankfully the sauce was on the side! Lobster tacos-outstanding as well as banana's foster cake."

The waiting staff provided exquisite recommendations of their vast wine selection and dinner menu. Our dinner was cooked to perfection as specified. The managers made sure we enjoyed every bit of our experience with occasional visits to converse."

My wife stepped out and tried the lemon sole and that was the talk of the night! It was fantastic! The place was crowded but service was still appropriate. The wine list had something for everyone, and we got a good recommendation from our server. It was a pleasant experience all together."

  • "The menu options for Houston Restaurant Weeks was fantastic! The filet mignon was requested as rare and came out perfect. It just melted in my mouth. The lemon sole was lightly breaded with parmesan but not over done and was very flavorful. The only critique I can give is the truffle macaroni and cheese was a little too dry with burnt edges. It could use more cheese and crème. Our server was very tentative and polite. Overall, it was a great night hanging out with my dad."

Ashley, our server, was the most energetic, knowledgable, happy to be there person I have encountered in a long time. We had shrimp cocktail, caesar salad, the sockeye salmon and au gratin potatoes. Wine was reasonably priced and the decor is beautiful. Definitely the place to go."

  • "We visited Eddie V's for HRW's. I had the lobster and shrimp bisque which was very bland and became palatable after I added salt and pepper. For my entree I had the double chicken breast which left a bad after taste. The asparagus was ok. The dessert was delicious. I would not recommend this restaurant. It is also a bit too dark inside for my taste."

  • "We had the North Atlantic sole and the filet mignon. Both were excellent. The sole was a generous portion fixed exactly right. A light crunch from the dusting of panko. The filet was cooked exactly as ordered and was tender and delicious. The sautéed spinach was superb with thin slices of garlic throughout. The Godiva chocolate cake was delightfully chocolaty, which is not always true in restaurants. An excellent meal in a relaxing setting conducive to conversation. Service was cheerful and attentive. Could not have asked for better. Panama cotta was a little flat; may have needed a touch more vanilla."

  • "I can't say that I've ever been to a restaurant that left me feeling beyond satisfied. I dined in the lounge. The music was great. The lighting was dark, but perfect for the evening. I was celebrating my birthday with my husband. I was given a birthday card signed by the staff and a decorated 'Happy Birthday' dessert plate. The service was impeccable. The food was heavenly. The restaurant is beautiful and the restrooms are nice and clean. It was a night fit for a Queen."

The atmosphere is the perfect mix of vibrant with class; not too stuffy, but not crazy loud either. Definitely will go back and try that Truffle Mac at some point!"

  • "I mentioned to the server that I couldn't have onions, so I didn't want the buttermilk-chive dressing on my salad. I also ordered the mac and cheese side. When the mac and cheese came out it was garnished in onions and had onions prominently throughout the dish. True, I didn't order the mac and chees specifically without onions, because onion wasn't in the description on the menu, but an excellent server would have known the dishes and caught that if I was removing the dressing due to onion, I should be warned about the mac and cheese. So, people with allergies/intolerances, beware of hidden ingredients and be clear about what you need in your whole order, not just the dishes that are obvious."

  • "Food was good but not worth the $$$$ high prices. Our fries were delivered in a fancy container and were cold.... Brian, our waiter didn't come by to see how ours dinner was prepared. The manager did come by and we gave him the cold fries and said we didn't want more. Yes, the fries were taken off the bill without a sorry or how about a dessert etc.... Dinner was $350 for 3 with a $140 bottle of wine. Yes, the wine is $45 in the wine shop."

  • "We have spent the past three years at Eddie V's for our anniversary, every year it is just fabulous. At one point, my husband and I looked at each other and said this is the best food I have ever put in my mouth. We started off with an Lobster Taco's, very flavorful. Then moved to our soup and Salad, then we both had the Surf & Turf, and it was exceptional. But I have to say that my favorite is the dessert, it is the Banana's Foster Brown Butter Cake, with Vanilla Bean Ice Cream - They garnished the top of the plate with Chocolate - that said Happy Anniversary. They always go beyond on the special occasions, there is always a card for either the Anniversary or Birthday signed by all the staff. Just an awesome experience! Love Eddie V's"

  • "We dined from the Houston Restaurant Weeks Menu and were not at all disappointed. Often wonder if will receive same level of service when dining on this special menu. No worries at Eddie V's. We chose lobster bisque, Scottish salmon, center cut file mignon, truffles mac & cheese, twice baked potato, banana's Foster, and hot chocolate Godiva cake. My husband due to health reasons must have his steak at least medium well and his steak still "cut like butter". If you have thought about dining at either of Eddie V's locations in Houston this month is the month to give it a try for just $45 and the restaurant gives a portion to the Houston Food Bank!"
