The atmosphere is great, but at the end of the day, I go for the quality of the steaks. This quality is probably 20% overpriced and everyone at our table agreed."

  • "This is my second visit and I was very disappointed with the food when comparing it to my first visit. First time everything was great. This time my steak was dry. For the price I paid, I could have gotten this steak at any restaurant for a lot less. I selected Eddie Merlot's because it was a special occasion and I wanted a special meal. Also, I ordered a baked potato side thinking that it would be large enough to share, but it was just an average size potato, and again for the price, the cost was not justified. My first visit was great; because of this visit, I'm not sure that I would come back and take a chance on another expensive meal."

  • "Sea bass was very tender and well seasoned and was served with flavorful green beans cooked perfectly. Tuna contained veins of gristle and was rather bland in flavor. Truffle fries were crisp, hot, and flavorful. Peanut butter cup dessert was smooth, rich, and more than enough for the two of us. Service was good. Ambience was good. However, for the half the money one can find better food and a more scenic setting in this area."

The private room and furniture are very comfortable enabling easy conversation across from the dinner table."

  • "Went to celebrate my husband's birthday, From the start the service was slow. Received our menus and waited 15 minutes for our server to come to the table. Ordered wine and waited 20 minutes for it to be brought out. Two ordered the short rib pasta dish & the meat was overcooked/tough. Server never did ask about our meal. My 18 year old son has autism and I explained to the server he has a very limited number of foods that he likes. I asked her to make him a grilled cheese. She responded the kitchen had no bread other than marble rye. The server offered no suggestions we just had to keep asking. We settled on something from the children's menu and my son was happy with the choice. 5 min later white bread was put on our table."

The only area that lacked was the lack of patrons. Lots of empty tables but it was a Wednesday night. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a great meal."

  • "We visit Eddie's about once a month & I must say this was by far the best food we have had. . . The cold appetizer was awesome. We are not big oyster fans, but these were terrific, plump & tender. For an entrée we had the Short Rib Stroganoff - needed a little more sauce - but super flavorful. We also had the Steak Diane - always great!! For dessert we had the Peanut Butter Mousse - super yummy. This dessert is well worth the price - we had to bring half home. Overall nice dinner, great food, just would have liked a little bit quick service."

  • "From the moment we walked in we knew it was special. My wife and I enjoyed drinks at the bar prior to dinner that were blended to perfection. Dinner was incredible. Our server Ted at the Warrenville location greeted us by name and made dinner recommendations that were out of this world. Ted was also extremely knowledgable on the wine list and made our dinner one to remember. Dessert was a true treat for the eyes as well as the stomach."

  • "Place is very nice, I was with my super awesome girlfriend and we were laughing and kissing all during dinner, so mood was good! YET the service was subpar for the prices they charge. Yet worse I had a bone in filet mignon and thats always been a rare treat and for some reason it was just too well done and dry, I didnt like it and I didnt know that was possible, its a filet mignon! Creme Brulee was good, as was the wine sampler. Yet I expect more from a high priced steak house and just didnt have a good experience. The menu does look good overall and there are other items that looked really good, yet if you dont like the service, then you feel like you might get same subpar service again. Can not recommend."

  • "It's unfortunate that my recent experience at Eddie Merlot's was not favorable. I had a previous visit over a year ago that was very good. This time, it took over an hour to get our entree's and the restaurant was not busy at all. I felt the wait staff avoided our table during this wait time. However, I must say that the on duty manager handled the situation well when brought to his attention. I might try it again for the food. "

THEY FORGOT TO BRING MY MASHED POTATOES WITH THE MEAL. THE SAUCE WITH THE SHRIMP WAS DIFFERENT THAN THE NORMAL MARINARA SAUCE. THERE WERE CHUNKS OF MEAT IN IT WHICH I DID NOT CARE FOR. I HAVE EATEN HERE BEFORE A NUMBER OF TIMES, BUT THIS WAS THE MOST DISAPPOINTING EXPERIENCE. IT WAS STILL FINE, BUT NOT AS GOOD AS USUAL, ESPECIALLY FOR THE HIGH PRICES."

  • " After taking our drink and appetizer order, waitress took our menus but failed to take our dinner order. Seafood platter was fair. Waitress never brought the special sauce (forgot the first time-then said she'd bring it right away but didn't). Caesar salads not as good as in previous visits. Pecan trout overdone, stroganoff (actually short ribs) very good ,salmon was over cooked. Freshly prepared hash browns were divine! Special s'mores dessert (our server's favorite!) was not our favorite- too sweet. Waitress didn"t check points on platinum card as promised-after being there for 2 1/2 frustrating hours we just wanted to leave.later checked points ourselves and found a $25 credit-does that mean we have to go back? We'll think about it. "
