  • "Overall, we love the whole experience of Eddie Merlit's. We were there to celebrate my b/fs b-day. Everything was excellent, except for the green beans. They were flavorless and over cooked. My filet mignon was so tender, you have cut it with a regular knife. The calamari in the edible rice bowl and 3 sauces was fabulous, although a little pricey at $14.00. The dining room us very comfortable and romantic!"

  • "The steaks have "enhancements". You can either have your steak plain, or you can pay extra for enhancements. We ordered our steaks without the enhancements. The steaks were really good- great cuts of very good meat - but they tasted a little bland. We enjoyed our steak, but they could have been a little more flavorful. My wife always orders her steaks well done. The outer edges of the steak were charcoal. Nonetheless, there was plenty of meat in the middle of the cut that she ate, and she filled herself up. Our waiter was friendly and knowledgeable. Service was a little slow due to lack of sufficient waiters for the crowd. The steak was good, the service was good, the ambiance was good, but just not great."

  • "The sides we ordered were delicious! However if I am going to spend this much money I want it to all be good. I was not impressed with the steak; we ordered Medium Well and the steak was still red all over and draining with blood. Extremely disappointed in the food. I personally had my dessert replaced, I ordered the S'More, it had an unnatural taste to it. I was however impressed with the mixed drinks and the service. Had a wonderful server named Martin I believe. He was great!"

I will eventually publish a collection of the one's I am well known for later when I just can't think of anything new. I have had my own places as well. I must say I really felt good in the environment. I feel it would be good for any occasion although I have only experienced our anniversary here. We don't go out to eat much because my wife feels my dish's are superior to any she has had in Louisville (what a heart). However, the ambiance, the aroma, the texture, the taste, the presentation, and the focus of the staff were indeed superior. This is the way I want to eat when I don't feel like serving. Salute."

The food, drinks and dessert were tremendous. We enjoyed the Sweet and Spicy Rock Shrimp followed by the Platte River Ranch Natural New York Strip and Trio of Medallions. We really enjoyed the red wine flight and yes, the Belle Glos Pinot Noir Rules! The Carrot Cake was the finale and left nothing more to be desired! We'll be back and it can't be soon enough!"

Our server was incredible and very knowledgable about the food and side dishes. I believe her name was Leslie she was so friendly and asked if it was a special occasion.   • "We recently celebrated my wife's birthday at Eddie Merlot's. The management and staff were friendly, helpful and understanding. The flowers I had ordered were on the table when we arrived. The wine list is excellent, but try the wine tasting specials before you order your favorite bottle. The table side service was exceptional although not intrusive. The food was wonderful both in taste and presentation. We highly recommend the Wagyu ribeye tomahawk (however, it is a very large portion and suitable for sharing. Our friends had seafood and were very impressed. Coffee, deserts and after dinner drinks were all memorable. It was our first trip but will not be our last. We highly recommend Eddie's. Don't forget to ask to meet the Chef!"

Ok' our waitress was wonderful and our appetizer was right on to start us off. This was our birthday dinner and the food, service was just what we expected for a five star venue. I was in the region for a business trip and ended up dining there at least 4 times. Great place for a date - as well as for a large group. On Friday night they had jazz in the bar area which added to the decorum. I definitely recommend this location."

  • "It was a Sunday and our top choice, Z's Oyster Bar was not open so we decided to walk to Eddie Merlots. Wage waitress knew nothing about the oysters on the menumand was more focused it seemed on getting us in and out. The Cosmo was just ok but the Makers Mark Manhatten was excellent. The tuna was excellent but the sea bass was so fatty it was like eating butter. For the price, go somewhere else for seafood. the atmosphere is like a hotel restaurant. "

  • "1. Not acknowledged at hostess station, three people too busy looking at computer, stood there for a good 2 minutes without any eye contact. 2. When got to table, they knew we were only two at the table, but extra service settings not removed until appetizer arrived. 3. Ordered items from the charcuterie and cheese tray; and the server comes back and says they were not available; why was the server not updated? 4. Place very noisy. 5. Had to ask for bread 5. No visit from manager or chef at all. Ultimately not worth the cost"
