The food is always excellent and the staff is great. The complimentary valet guys were great and very helpful with taking the wheelchair out of the trunk and helping us into the restaurant. Our only complaint for this visit was the time it took to complete our service. There were several meetings underway and our server explained this delayed our service. Our requests communicated through Open Table were completely and discreetly handled. Our waiter was very attentive and professional. He made excellent recommendations when it became difficult to make choices from a menu that had many attractive options. The food was excellent. One reason I chose Eddie Merlot's was because of their children's menu; in fact I cancelled another reservation after comparing on-line. I don't really like the decor -- it's a little too garish for me, but the layout is good and tables are appropriately distanced. It is much more modern than other steak houses in the area, and a cool feel. Normally I would not suggest small children at a nicer restaurant, but Eddie Merlot's was wonderful. Very willing to have fun with the children by setting the smoke filled shrimp cocktail in front of the 4th grader who was amazed. They also brought a children's crab cake out early for our 14 month old grandchild, who LOVED it and wanted more. I ate in the bar, which was empty. The service was excellent and the food as usual was also excellent. The pork chop I had was cooked perfectly and it was very meaty and flavorful. The wine choices were outstanding and since they will cork the wine for take home, it pays to get a bottle.
