The food was great, the live music in the bar reminded us of our honeymoon in Key West, and the service was no rushing, relaxed and friendly and very in-tune to our romantic celebration. Our waitress was very friendly and exceptionally knowledgeable of the dishes and the wines. She made recommendations after inquiring about likes and dislikes.
A beautiful setting, excellent food, attentive staff - what more could you ask for? We opted for the regular menu on this visit. However, I liked the more intimacy of the bar. We had the meatloaf and the pork chop dinners. Both were delicious. The meatloaf was moist and flavorful. The pork chop was cooked perfectly, and I am picky about over done pork. The Ceasar salad is one of our favorites. The food is always excellent and the staff is great. The complimentary valet guys were great and very helpful with taking the wheelchair out of the trunk and helping us into the restaurant. Our requests communicated through Open Table were completely and discreetly handled. Our waiter was very attentive and professional. He made excellent recommendations when it became difficult to make choices from a menu that had many attractive options. The food was excellent. One reason I chose Eddie Merlot's was because of their children's menu; in fact I cancelled another reservation after comparing on-line. I don't really like the decor -- it's a little too garish for me, but the layout is good and tables are appropriately distanced. Normally I would not suggest small children at a nicer restaurant, but Eddie Merlot's was wonderful. Very willing to have fun with the children by setting the smoke filled shrimp cocktail in front of the 4th grader who was amazed. They also brought a children's crab cake out early for our 14 month old grandchild, who LOVED it and wanted more. I ate in the bar, which was empty. The service was excellent and the food as usual was also excellent. The pork chop I had was cooked perfectly and it was very meaty and flavorful. The wine choices were outstanding and since they will cork the wine for take home, it pays to get a bottle.
