The fact that Eddie Merlot's can create a baked Alaska (given advanced notice) is amazing as I have spent several years searching for a place that served this. Our appetizers and dinners were exquisite along with well timed. The Bananas Fosters served with table side preparation put our experience OVER THE TOP! This is not my first time going as the last time was just as wonderful. However, their consistency in creating a fine dining experience again and again places them in the 5 star category for me! Thank you so much for making our anniversary excellent!"

  • "We were seated and the place was not crowded at all. A family come in they sat them very close to us and the kids were noisy. This is not exactly a kids restaurant with minimum $30 entrees. I was not happy about it and said so, but was not going to move in the middle of dinner. The hostess should be aware of these situations and seat accordingly..."

  • "Four of us were in for dinner Saturday night. We started with the 6 item charcuterie for the table. The roquefort was amazing, as was the duck proscuitto and the other items we selected. The bacon jam was delicious too! We opted to choose from the chef's selections and the $89 two dinner and a bottle of wine special. The Merlot that came with the special was nice, and the selected 7 ounce filet mignons were cooked perfectly. The caesar salads that started each meal were served with a light splash of dressing, so the romaine leaves weren't swimming in dressing like other places. The other two ordered off the menu, enjoying the pork chop. WOW! Each pork chop could have fed a family of four! We enjoyed our leftovers the next day!"

  • "We had a terrific dinner at Eddie Merlot's on our anniversary. This is one of only restaurants that we can order our favorite beef entree-chateaubriand for two. It is OUTSTANDING! The service is perfectly balanced between attentive and privacy. The managers are very visible and actively padticipate in your service. The tempura beans (green) are a creative side dish, and the potato choices are also varied. We split a salad with no extra plating charge. We highly recommend this restaurant for a special occasion or a group dinner!"

  • "Yea it's expensive, but you get what you pay for. We love this restaurant to relax. The bar is beautiful. The wine list goes on and on. However the house wine is very good and priced right. Eddie's is as close as we can come in Columbus to New York, Philiy, or Boston dining."

  • "Split an appetizer of filet mignon potstickers with my wife. Excellent, and whet the appetite just enough. I always try the bread, and E/M's was warm but not hot and very good. For dinner, I had the three medallions, one with peppercorn sauce, one "Oscar" style, and one with gorgonzola cheese with a bit of bacon. I've had filets in many places; this was the very best I can recall. My wife had the 7 ounce filet. It was (she said) excellent, but it was odd that the beef was the ONLY thing on her plate. 7 ounces, done medium rare, doesn't take up much space. In short, it looked...lonely. Sides were good. Noise was a bit much--birthday party with 12 people nearby. Conclusion: truly great food. Very expensive. Once a year treat."

She was delightful, attentive but not hovering, very knowledgeable, and made us feel both special and like old friends. She's a gem! Dinner was delicious, our red velvet cupcake was divine, and we thoroughly loved every minute of our visit."

Immediately the noise level skyrocketed and it became like a noisy bar. Surely they have a separate area where they can put groups rather than ruin the peaceful atmosphere for the rest of the diners. It put a disappointing end on an otherwise lovely evening."

The jalapeño potatoes tasted like they were out of a TV dinner... No flavor at all. I've been there before and it seems the food is getting worse .. I should've stuck with my first mind and went to Ruth's Chris ."

The staff was aware that this was more than just a dinner out and gave us our space and time to visit as they never rushed us and allowed us to enjoy this Special Time. EM is one of our favorite places to dine when visiting Columbus. The service is always personal and yet professional, probably the thing that keeps us coming back. My Wife and I had steaks (Filet & Ribeye) and they were both cooked as requested. The Calamari is always a favorite too. Without a doubt we will return to EM during future trips to Polaris, as they never disappoint us. "

  • "Went out for a romantic evening and chose Eddie Merlot's because of all the good reviews. The restaurant is very beautiful inside and the bar area is really very nice. We had reservations and were seated very promptly. Our server was excellent, she did a great job. The problem came in with the food. It took 30 minutes from the end of my salad to receive my main course. My steak was very dry and overcooked and my dates lobster bisque was cool and bland. Not what you would expect with the prices paid. All in all I will certainly give this restaurant one more try as the menu has really great choices, the wait staff was great, and the building was very romantic. Hopefully the second time they will get the food up to the rest of the experience."

  • "Valet or park it yourself. It doesn't matter because the valet will greet you cordially either way. Enter and you are immediately greeted by three cordial hostesses eager to help you with whatever you need. My wife and I only needed direction to our booth, and the hostess led us there, pulled out the booth table, and we slid right in. Within a minute, our server Aaron greeted us. Soon after placing our order, another server Daniel recognized us, came up and shook my hand, and we had a pleasant catch-up conversation. Aaron was a delightful and detail-driven server. The food was delicious as usual. We were impressed with Aaron's skill with the tableside preparation of out bananas Foster dessert. You will find Eddie's delightful. "

  • "Summary: waste of a good brunch. The food was aweful, the service was even worse. The only things from the entire brunch buffet that I ate and actually liked were the potatoes and fruit - and I tried everything except the meatloaf and chicken. I also tried ALL of the desserts and I didn't like any of them. And I am a sugar feind! Though, the red velvet cake was decent enough to order again. The servers acted like they didn't want to be there or like you were annoying them by sitting at your table. (FYI: we asked for nothing the entire time. No extra napkins, no utensils, nothing more to drink, nothing!). I can't see myself going back for brunch ever again. No ambiance. Just blah. I have had much better experiences with their dinner. "

  • "Our party of eight (all from other states) chose Eddie Merlot's to celebrate my grandson's graduation from Ohio Wesleyan University. Eddie's has always been his and my favorite when I visited him from San Diego, and once again my grandson, as well as the other family members, enjoyed their steaks and sides. The wine was excellent. Our server Michael made the evening so special for us, and his outstanding service was extraordinary. "
