  • "Coming from Cleveland and having children in Indianapolis, I was exposed to Eddie Merlot as an option. While initially skeptical a few years ago given the price point, I have been pleasantly surprised at their consistency. They are priced at the Capital Grille, Morton's, Ruth Chris level. While a side of bacon wrapped shrimp was 18-19$$, it was gigantic and awesome! Spending 100K a year on T&E all over the country, I enjoy quite a bit of fine dining. Kudos to the one in Columbus, Ohio!"

  • "Back to Eddie's for the first time in several months and was pleased as always. Staff is professional and attentive without being intrusive. Food is still excellent. Our group sampled a little of all. The Filet pot stickers were a surprisingly delicious appetizer while a few of us could not resist the oysters on the shell (always as fresh as can be). Steaks are wonderful and force yourself to try the pork chop at least once; you will not be disappointed. Lobster Mac and Cheese is a must have side. Save room for the Banana's Foster prepared at table side and you will love every moment of guilt you have while finishing this desert! Keep up the good work folks."

  • "We love this restaurant for the food and the excellent service (Absolutley the BEST staff) but we had a round table with 5 people on a Sunday evening and could not hear the person across from you... That makes for an unpleasant dinner when you want to actually speak to the guests that you brought. Really noisy. Which is unusual so not really sure what changed or why...?"

  • "The steaks were fantastic. The Eddie's potatoes were not completely cooked and were hard/crunchy. The rest of the food was just average. The gentleman running the restaurant at Polaris is totally out of place and has absolutely zero personality. I think the server we had was new at it. If not then she has a lot of room for improvement, especially on how to handle multiple tables at once. Overall, this was my worst dining experience at the Polaris Eddie Merlot's. I may try it one more time but if the next experience is like this past one then I will be finished."

  • "I chose Eddie Merlot's with some apprehension as I normally go to Hyde Park, (Mortons before it closed), Ruth's Chris for special occasion meals. Last Sunday, I was proven wrong. The food was absolutely delicious and the service top-notch, very attentive yet not overbearing. Our server was very educated about the menu, made excellent wine suggestions and let us know the wine bottles are 1/2 off on Sundays. The potatoes were stellar and my dry-aged NY strip was cooked perfectly. It could have used a little more seasoning, but I think this was intentional to balance the flavorful sides. We will definitely be coming back and have added Eddie Merlot's to our top 5 steakhouses in Columbus. Great job Eddie Merlot's Polaris!"

Not yet time to be "buddies". That happened one time before also, with another server. Is this the "new training"?"

A good start is a drink at their bar, then head on into the dining room for some great service and a steak or seafood or both.. not to mention the outstanding side dishes. Again... always a great experience. Oh yeah.. one more thing.. Bannas Foster.. Save room, you have to get this after your meal with a fine coffee. Then you're set."

  • "After being seated, a server didn't stop by our table for over 15 mins. When we did have server could tell he was either overwhelmed, inexperienced or just not competent. Saw server 4 times in course of over 2 hr seating. Other servers brought items etc. For high end restaurant and prices, one comes to expect a high level of service. I've had better service experiences at cheaper chain restaurants. Food was decent but overall experience soured the whole evening. Never once saw a manager engage any patrons nor did one ever stop by. One manager type (perhaps food runner manager) seemed to always be joking around with servers but never actually focusing on customers. In future will take our business elsewhere. Too many better options exist"

  • "My wife and I dined at Eddie Merlot's on recommendation of a friend who lives in Columbus. Great service and a nice atmosphere. The half moon table was very enjoyable. Good drinks and wine selection. However, the onion soup was average at best, and the pork chop was extremely dry, tough, and almost impossible to cut. The dessert was excellent."

  • "My wife and I were celebrating our anniversary in Columbus and had eaten at various restaurants in the past. Never at Eddie Merlot's. We decided to give it a try on a Sunday night. We got there a bit early and it not very crowded. We decided to try the bar before being seated. Great bartender who advised of a wine special. Helped select the wine which turned out to be one of the best we've had. After being seated the service was very attentive. Our meals were prepared exactly as ordered. I'm glad we found this gem, and am looking forward to our next trip to Columbus. Certainly will chose this restaurant again."

We are both tall individuals and we could barely reach our food from the barrel-like seats! It was really hard to enjoy our $200.00 meal when you are so uncomfortable and so far away from your food! What was to be a very special evening, turned out to be a big disappointment!"

The bar staff was wonderful while we waited for our table. Our table server was very professional and knowledgeable and knew when to take our orders and timed the courses perfectly. The steaks were absolutely delicious. Tender and very flavorful. The creme brulee for dessert was outstanding."

  • "I never have had a bad experience at Eddie's. I was meeting with a business colleague, and we had a great meal and yet never felt interrupted while meeting. The service was perfectly timed. While I am a freak for Rhone's, we had the Conn Creek Anthology. Great bottle at a restaurant price. They have great private group rooms, and accommodated a large party near us (maybe 15 people) yet we never really seemed to hear that group."

The salads were delicious and the bowls that the salads were served in was very different. Loved the ambiance, it was quiet, and the service was impeccable. We will be back! The fact that Eddie Merlot's can create a baked Alaska (given advanced notice) is amazing as I have spent several years searching for a place that served this. Our appetizers and dinners were exquisite along with well timed. The Bananas Fosters served with table side preparation put our experience OVER THE TOP! This is not my first time going as the last time was just as wonderful. However, their consistency in creating a fine dining experience again and again places them in the 5 star category for me! Thank you so much for making our anniversary excellent!"

  • "Have enjoyed dining experience at Eddie Merlot's now for third or fourth time and have never been disappointed. Servers have always been especially pleasant, cordial, attentive and accommodating. The only "mild" criticism I might have this last time is that the waiter removed our butter plate before we were finished with the bread - but I do know they're trained to keep tables as clear as possible. There's an overabundance of dining options where we live, so we reserve Eddie Merlot's for the most special of occasions."

  • "Four of us were in for dinner Saturday night. We started with the 6 item charcuterie for the table. The roquefort was amazing, as was the duck proscuitto and the other items we selected. The bacon jam was delicious too! We opted to choose from the chef's selections and the $89 two dinner and a bottle of wine special. The Merlot that came with the special was nice, and the selected 7 ounce filet mignons were cooked perfectly. The caesar salads that started each meal were served with a light splash of dressing, so the romaine leaves weren't swimming in dressing like other places. The other two ordered off the menu, enjoying the pork chop. WOW! Each pork chop could have fed a family of four! We enjoyed our leftovers the next day!"

  • "We were seated and the place was not crowded at all. A family come in they sat them very close to us and the kids were noisy. This is not exactly a kids restaurant with minimum $30 entrees. I was not happy about it and said so, but was not going to move in the middle of dinner. The hostess should be aware of these situations and seat accordingly..."
